Racoon City sounds like Left 4 Dead. I wasn't that big of a fan of Left 4 Dead. Therefore, I don't have an interest in RC. I did have the wait and see approach before.

Hey Event, there's this game coming out in november called Anarchy Reigns. Its a sand box fighter, with destructible enviorments, and throwable objects. Its even made by the people who made bayonetta. Check it out when you can.

About Cross-platforms games, the best game in that department i've seen was 4x4 Evolution, where PC, Mac and Dreamcast gamers can play together. Unfortunately this doesn't happen often, and games consoles tend to have their own closed networks for online gaming, and exclusive games also.
Yes, and closed networks and exclusives hurt gaming overall. Instead of this being about company vs company, it should be about progression in gaming. This should have been a standard by now. But without people fighting who's system is better than the other, they wouldn't make as much money.
The videogames industry is being hurt right now, and this can be seen already in some Japan-released videogames on XBox 360, some being region-free! One of the reasons is being reaching more fans worldwide, and the other reason probably being "we need to make more money to survive in this state of emergency in the videogames industry!". Virtual-On: Force (yes, the previously arcade-only game!) got released in 2010, Asia version being region-free! Same for some CAVE Japan releases.
Japan I can understand, because it's a big part of their economy. And after what happened, they are taking a hit. But most of their stuff is region free, as you said. Which is winning gamers over. I will be speaking about this tomorrow, because we have a new threat on our hands as customers.

We all know THQ's only barely alive in the industry because of their license games. They haven't come up with anything original in eons. Also, I am HUGE on cross-platform gaming. If the Dreamcast and the PC could play games together in the form of Quake and Phantasy Star Online, then they could damn well do it today. There's just no excuse for holding it back anymore, none whatsoever.

Cross platform gaming should have been the standard a long time ago, but we know companies are holding it back. If this was about true progression in the industry, and not selfishness. I think gamers would be more happy, since it wouldn't matter what platform you had. Because it promotes togetherness.
EXACTLY! We're all seeing how cohesive the community is becoming (albeit, really slowly). We're also seeing less and less exclusives, so it's giving gamers more of a chance to pick one console they're comfortable with and just enjoying themselves. With cross platform gaming, it'll also give them a chance to game with buddies who picked different consoles. Even from a business perspective it's still a win-win scenario seeing as you'll be selling more product regardless of console.
I agree, the community is slowly coming together, which I love to see. That's how it should be, but I don't think it's moving fast enough in that direction. (I know, I need to be more patient lol) But I will be speaking about this a little more tomorrow after what Ed Boon has said.

I agree, as a company, you don't come out and make your customers feel worthless. And it seems more companies are doing this more and more. That's not really what I'm looking for out of a RE game. I want atmosphere and tension. A sense that your all alone against a horde of zombies. I have a feeling the Zombies will be minimized as a threat with whatever those cloaking agents are, and the multiplayer stuff in there. Sounds like a big mess to me. The show flowed today, good job.

I've heard mixed things about Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. Some places have said it's gonna be a full retail game. Some have said it's just gonna be an expansion pack as DLC. If they release it as a full game, I'm not buying it. If it's DLC, chances are I'll get it. Also, this new Resi game looks interesting. Putting a somewhat different spin on RE. I'll wait for a demo or a full gameplay demonstration first, though.
Well, this is capcom we're talking about here. So it's possible they'll double dip like they're doing with SF: Arcade Edition. (Making it DLC & on disc 20 days later) With RE, I do want to get my hands on the demo but I know for a fact that multiplayer is going to be chaotic.
@EventStatus Yeah, RE is probably just gonna be about killing other players in most peoples eyes. They're gonna treat killing zombies as secondary, playing the game differently from how it was intended. Just look at AC: Brotherhood's MP. People sprint about on rooftops and dive off to kill you instead of blending in, going for stealth etc. Even Call of Duty is the same in a lot of objective games. At least in my experience. They'll need a way to get players to kill zombies instead of each other

Dragon's Dogma looks fantastic, saw some info on the game earlier. They are putting in many mythological creatures, apparently. Such as dragons, goblins, hydra, some greek creatures, and others that are based off of LOTR. That is from my memory, not a quote :P
I'll be keeping an eye on it, because I am interested on the details. I noticed over-the-shoulder fighting at times like RE5, but it seems it's only for shooting arrows. I would be interested to see if this has some type of create a character, and online co-op.

I agree, we've only seen cross platform gaming in things like MMO's. (FFXI had 360, PS2 and PC all playing together) but other games like Counterstrike, etc. Console players would get destroyed by mouse and keyboard. Granted consoles have that option for it, but many don't use it. On top of this the companies are in direct competition with each other, so we won't see it happen.
One of the main reasons I'm a PC gamer its cause the games are modable, I mean look at Oblivion mods,Fallout mods , FIFA 11 tweaks , Crysis mods , Ghos Recon mods , all those mods prolonged the lifetimes of those games for , I PLAY THEM EVEN TODAY .
I agree, the mods prolong the life of the games. With console games, they just make a super, tournament, GOTY version and kill the initial shelf life of the disc, along with making the customer feel like they wasted their money.

I can understand, but at the same time I follow the tourney scene so I will advance as the game advances.
Moreover it actually is no issue for me for the dlc because, well none of my friends actually play Street fighter except for myself So it's not coming at a cost for me.
Understood, you have enough reasons to purchase it (which is fine) but there are many who aren't part of that tourney scene, or aren't remembering the debacle that Final Fight Impact was with DRM. I think Racoon City has a high level of potential. But i do agree people will not focus on the objective. Maybe changing the whole bleed out thing to just being downed or to slowing you down for a short period of time. And is that trailer for real? I heard of this game bout a week ago, didn't look into it. But that trailer has me interested. Only draw back is that i don't have time or the attention span for games like this. I feel like its going to be very similar to Dragon Age and Oblivion.
I think that will be the biggest problem with this new RE, people not focusing on objectives. I see many people quitting in the middle of matches, because of it. And yeah, I will have to keep an eye on Dragons Dogma. So I will be giving out more details once they release more info.
For the previous 3 weeks now I've talking about slant 6 and this game. We all saw what happened with Socom, which is why many people are skeptical of the game. Team Based Shooting is not Slant 6's specialty.

Something tells me for RE6, we'll be seeing more of Claire and Leon,since we got Chris and Jill in RE5. I am however, pissed that there's a lack of Barry Burton in these games story wise. DMC is pretty much done, and it will soon shown. No matter when they decide to unveil it, the target release date is october for it. No way will it survive against Gears 3, Uncharted 3, COD, etc.

We're also seeing less and less exclusives, so it's giving gamers more of a chance to pick one console they're comfortable with and just enjoying themselves. With cross platform gaming, it'll also give them a chance to game with buddies who picked different consoles. Even from a business perspective it's still a win-win scenario seeing as you'll be selling more product regardless of console.

That's not really what I'm looking for out of a RE game. I want atmosphere and tension. A sense that your all alone against a horde of zombies. I have a feeling the Zombies will be minimized as a threat with whatever those cloaking agents are, and the multiplayer stuff in there. Sounds like a big mess to me. The show flowed today, good job.

If you ever wanted to take the game over a friends house you wouldn't have to worry about that, unless you plan on taking your system.

I've heard mixed things about Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. Some places have said it's gonna be a full retail game. Some have said it's just gonna be an expansion pack as DLC. If they release it as a full game, I'm not buying it. If it's DLC, chances are I'll get it. Also, this new Resi game looks interesting. Putting a somewhat different spin on RE. I'll wait for a demo or a full gameplay demonstration first, though.

@EventStatus Yeah, RE is probably just gonna be about killing other players in most peoples eyes. They're gonna treat killing zombies as secondary, playing the game differently from how it was intended. Just look at AC: Brotherhood's MP. People sprint about on rooftops and dive off to kill you instead of blending in, going for stealth etc. Even Call of Duty is the same in a lot of objective games. At least in my experience. They'll need a way to get players to kill zombies instead of each other

Dragon's Dogma looks fantastic, saw some info on the game earlier. They are putting in many mythological creatures, apparently. Such as dragons, goblins, hydra, some greek creatures, and others that are based off of LOTR. That is from my memory, not a quote :P

I already own SSF IV and the DLC is basically $15. So why would gamers wait to buy a game they already own with DLC already on it?

One of the main reasons I'm a PC gamer its cause the games are modable, I mean look at Oblivion mods,Fallout mods , FIFA 11 tweaks , Crysis mods , Ghos Recon mods , all those mods prolonged the lifetimes of those games for , I PLAY THEM EVEN TODAY .

I think Racoon City has a high level of potential. But i do agree people will not focus on the objective. Maybe changing the whole bleed out thing to just being downed or to slowing you down for a short period of time. And is that trailer for real? I heard of this game bout a week ago, didn't look into it. But that trailer has me interested. Only draw back is that i don't have time or the attention span for games like this. DMC is pretty much done, and it will soon shown. No matter when they decide to unveil it, the target release date is october for it. No way will it survive against Gears 3, Uncharted 3, COD, etc.

@Riku4evr He wasn't talking about the species in a literal form, he was talking about the idea and concept of video games to evolve, which is something that has been severely hindered the last few years.
