homeboys right its gonna cost a lot to get it going like you eventually want but what ive found w my 64 is it just takes baby steps...and a whole lotta cigarettes! i just nit pick lil things away here and there and nickle and dime the cars problems away one by one. its coming along slowly but shell be bad one day haha! you and your bro look like you have some great potential sitting in that yard. his engine bay is gonna look really good too when hes done:D
Actually, you can find them cheaper than that. I actually sold mine for 3k. Had a 350, new tranny and seats, but it was a lot like yours except it had the motor in it already. Dropped major cash! And I found as much as I could on ebay and craigslist. If you've got your dad or someone to do most of the work, then it's ok, but If you have to take it to a shop, even a cheap one, your looking at dropping a lot of cash! But, maybe your set money wise. I'll buy one driving next time.
It's cool to fix these up, and you should...IF you have lots of money to blow. If not, I would strongly suggest buying one in running condition. You can stil find them in the $5-6000 range, then go from there. You'll have to spend a lot more than that to get this car to that point. I know! I just went through that, and it was a nightmare! I wouldn't do it again. I don't want to rain on your parade, but it is what it is. EXPENSIVE! And I want you to know what your getting into.
