  • Looks like Mr. Spout is coming apart... like Jannes and Jambres, his folly is being made manifest.

  • @bibluver No, bibluver... it's what one does that proves one is righteous. You have no understanding yourself, sir. You have works that come from faith and works that come from the flesh. This is why there are classifications of a true prophet and a false prophet. Both can feed the poor and preach, but one could be on his way to hell, and one can be on his way to Heaven. So you need to go away... quietly.

  • Works and grace? So, it's either one or the other? Have you read the New Testament. I urge you to read Matthew, Hebrews, Jude.

  • Pastor Mike Sprott has embarrassed himself. Now he feels inferior to Brother Micah's knowledge of the Scriptures and is trying to play to the crowd sinners (which is a HUGE no-no). You can tell which one is the true preacher of God... it's becoming evident. Sprott quotes a piece of scripture and then goes off into his own philosphy. Sprott reminds me of the ignorant majority of the modern minister... Once Saved Always Saved is their banner. Pitiful.

  • This is almost hard to watch as Sprott is embarrassing in his defense. Once saved, always saved is such a deception.

  • John 3:8 just as you can't control the wind, so you can't control your regeneration, it is an act of God upon the sinner. Regeneration is when God brings to life a DEAD soul, and he does it by his will ALONE=before faith(John 1:13, Ezekiel 36:26. Because regenration is a work of God within us in which he gives us new life, it is an instantaneous event. It happens only once. At one moment we were speritually dead...next moment we have new life. Since it is an act of God= no faith involved.

  • Ezekiel 18:30-32 (KJV)

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

  • Aaron, I'm not saying that repentance is something God does for us, he gives us the gift to do it, and we do it, he works it IN us, we work it OUT as Phil 2:12-13 teaches. God's sovereignty works in harmony with the will of man, see Acts 2, Genesis 50,etc. And not only that, but Ezek 18:30-32 is NATIONAL repentance, not grace repentance. Just as God says to all "KEEP MY LAW" and DOES NOT give them the ability to do it, only those whom he gave the GIFT of repentance will turn inwardly to him.

  • @Dejan2116 Lu 7:50 And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace. Lu 18:42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee. Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God---That's different than what you just said. Faith is involved in salvation.

  • Where is progressive depravity in Romans 8:7-8 or 1 Cor 2:14? Does it say that they are UNABLE to submit to God?

  • Let me ask you a question. Is it possible for God to lie? Does God have the type of free will that you advocate for yourself?

I'm not here to refute arguments... I wan't us to grow in the knowledge of God our Lord Jesus and truly be sound in Apostolic teaching, although I confess there is a type of fleshly confidence that I have when I speak to you and I do repent of that. But my prayer is that you may see the truth that GOD chooses men and after he choose them THEN they accept or choose him.

  • Lol is that exegesis or an example of reading into the text something that it doesn't say? Romans 9 teaches 5 point calvinism, and so did Jesus in John 6:37-44. I'm not denying Jeremiah 18, God calls all men everywhere to repent, but the only ones who are able to do that are his people. Now you may say "when God says ALL he gives us the ability to do it"! No sir, he same the same thing about his law, KEEP IT, does he give us the ability to keep it? NO. Once they are regenerated, they accept God.

  • Man is not totally depraved? Is that why Paul says the natural man's mind is DEPRAVED/ Debased and cannot understand Scripture?

Romans 8:7-8 teaches that the natural man CANNOT SUBMIT TO GOD. Over and over again Scripture declares that man is UNABLE to do any true good, including accept the Gospel UNLESS GOD REGENERATES THEM(Acts 16:14). As a result of the fall, God CONDEMNED the entire human race, there aren't any "second chances", now out of God's love and mercy he chooses to save HIS ppl

  • JTTN, I don't believe that man doesn't have a will, this is NOT what Calvinist's believe.

MAN DOES HAVE A WILL, but that will is a SLAVE to his desires! A SLAVE TO SIN(John 8:32). And untill the Son sets them free, they will continue to be a SLAVE TO SIN.

Man's will is CORRUPT and DEPRAVED and CANNOT understand Scripture on some "free will". Man is NOT free to choose God, they DONT WANT GOD AND HATE HIM BY NATURE. "Why does a large women love ice cream? Because it's her DESIRE TO DO SO!"

  • What does Romans 9 teach?

    1) man cannot accept God unless God sovereignly predestines them(BEFORE Jacob or Easu did ANYTHING, God chose one over the other----UNCONDITONAL)

    2) God chooses some for HELL and others for HEAVEN based on his soverignty, not their "free will", which they don't even have.

    3) Nobody can say to God "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? ITS NOT FAIR!!!"

Now God doesn't force people to sin, but they sin out of their own evil desires. But he is SOVEREIGN voer their decisions.

  • JTTN, repentance is a gift of God(2 Tim 2:25) Repentance is a RESULT of being born again sir, this is the Biblical position. Those who aren't saved, will NOT repent. God OPENS their hearts(Acts 16:14) and gives them the GIFT of repentance sir.

"All men" almost NEVER means all people who ever lived in the Greek New Testament, rather it means all people "EVERYWHERE", as in "tribes, tongues, peoples, nations" all OVER the world, not every person who ever lived.

    UNCODITIONAL, read Romans 9.

  • Holiness, Sprout isn't trying to justify sin, he is clearly trying to give the Biblical position of Justification. That man is justified apart from his works, but is justified based on Christ's work, not our works. Repentance and Faith is a RESULT of already being saved, not a means to it. This is what you must know. Armstrong is not giving the Biblical position. God's forgiveness in the Gospel is UNCODITIONAL, he opens the hearts of men(Acts 16:14) and saves them, and after that you obey him.

  • The devil wears his Bible out trying to justify SIN! They wrest the scriptures to their own DAMNATION! Why does Mr. Sweetie Sprout even talk about "growing" if you are as good as in heaven the moment you say "I believe in Jesus"?
