  • Great song :-)

  • never have i seen anyone as comfortable with an acoustic guitar

i am in utter awe at this guys poise

a genius and an outstanding songwriter east Kilbride's finest and a scottish treasure

  • total quality Mr Frame!! you are a genious for sure....wish the solo at the end was on the studio version>awesome!!

  • Great song & having Craig Gannon on backing guitar is a superb embellishment to this excellent track.

  • Roddy Frame !! He is a legend. He's been my hero since school. No matter what music is out there I always come back to Roddy. To meet anyone in the world - dead or alive - it would be Mr frame. Bigger brighter better. Lover...leave me..and bring the world back to me..

  • genio!!! aztec camera es mi banda de todos los tiempos y lo sera siempre

  • Very talented songwriter and musician. One of my favorite songs by the great Roddy.

  • I just Looooove this song. Not sure if we love these artists because of their songs or if its because they remind us of our youth.....possibly both...

  • Roddy Frame wrote "Down The Dip" at 15 - That is just mucical genious. I play guitar and sing, but people like Roddy just understand it from the off - which saves alot of time- LOL - well in my case...

    Cheers all

  • Roddy Frame is one of the most under rated songwriters and best singer songwriters of all time. Listen Hard. Work it out and LOVE HIM!!! Swoon,

  • Roddy Frame is a gift from God.

  • Gracias.

  • He makes it all seem so annoyingly effortless and , i suppose, to him , it is !!!

    The swine.

As good as it gets .

  • Roddy continues to "WOW" me again and again....a gift to the world and a musical genius.

  • Amazing song, i have a day every now and then when i just listen to Aztec and Roddys solo stuff why that man is'nt as well known as the crap in the charts is beyond me

  • Fucking brilliant....now't else to be said.

  • have loved him since the age of 14, biggest travesty in the UK music industry. He is a genius and deserves so much more recognition, an absolute star! love ya roddy!!!!! xx

  • What a fantastic acoustiuc guitar solo at the end. Such a shame it's not on the studio version.

  • the guitar solo is just so good.....ends too soon

  • Brave words in bold relief...

    Gorgeous

  • nice one terl. godbless . ian from scotland. remember me . cry cry.

  • Roddy remains underrated. I wish he'd come to America. I last saw him in Dec. '87 at the Wiltern in L.A.

  • He's certainly the best singer / songwriter I can think of any time soon and isn't he so goddam sexy in this video, mmm, yum.

  • "Strings"....off North Star..i just can't listen to it at the moment..its breaking my heart..Kimberley my beautiful girl no longer wants me and i'm not sure i can take that..I guess I'll be going Down the Dip..Arriva Derci!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Class....first saw Aztec Camera in Dingwalls in Newcastle in 83, we were stood next to Edwyn Collins...loved Roddys' stuff ever since!!...the best singer/songwriter ever ??..i don't know but personally for me he is!!

  • I preferred 'Too Much Acid' but this is still special.

    'Go on there, Rod'

  • The way Roddy closes his eyes and looks down at 0.43 is great. He's really feeling it, something absent from modern music.

  • I saw Roddy touring as a guitar player with the Smith's circa 1986 in San Diego. Johnny Marr + Roddy Frame on stage together was guitar heaven. Would love to find some live footage from that tour.

  • anyone know where to get a tab or chords for this?

  • Man of inspiration...hardly to find any musician like him these days...

  • You're right. It seems that the more a singer writes and sings rubbish, the more likely is to succeed. But talking about art, this guy can say his own original word.

  • it´s very hard to find roddy´s or aztec´s records here in brazil...great song, great voice and guitar! one of the best artists from uk!

  • Great song, great performance, great Roddy. "You and I like a minesweeper".... great all.

  • Anybody know when this recording took place? A brilliant song and very well performed live. Love the Spanish guitar solo at the end, but Roddy -- you don't suit sleeveless Tshirts!! XX see you soon (Newcastle?)

  • 1998 "The North Star" Album

  • Great song,my only bug bear is the fact that he didnt do the solo guitar break on the album.Gotta come onto youtube evrytime i wanna hear it which sucks a bit.

  • Roddy is fantastic. This song gives me goose pimples!, my only regret is that I haven't listened to his music for years. Thank you youtube for reminding me how brilliant he is.

  • i agree

  • i agree

  • Just simply the most underated singer songwriter there is. A TRUE genius.

  • Beautiful guitar solo...

  • my oh my the guitar solo!

  • Possibly one of the greatest acoustic guitarists this country ever produced. Wrote his first album at 17 and Mark Knopfler jammed with him on the second album, stopped , put his guitar down and admitted defeat.

  • love this performance, no-one can do music like roddy. wish he was playing somewhere in london soon, would love to see him live.

  • Too many years - not enough Roddy music. He's utterly brilliant!

  • One of my Fave's....What a song, great live (as always)

  • Thank you for posting.... I simply adore Roddy....

    Peace :~)

  • Brilliant.....

  • Nice to see this one up again. Thank you so much.

  • Always loved Roddy Frame. Saw him him in concert in Glasgow several years ago just by himself on stage and my god he was good then too :-) I'd rate him up there with Neil Finn as a songwriting talent.

  • Fantastic!!!
