what is up with the new zephyr? The zephyr was originally a 2 Seater with a v12. A sports car is what the description sounds like. So now they come with an everyday sedan?
@METROPOLIfilms The Zephyr originally came in a sedan, coupe-sedan, coupe, coupe-convertible, there may have been others but they had all types to appeal to wide audiences
A few of the out of print book "Lincoln and Continental Classic Motor Cars, The Early Years" still remain. see TheMarvinArnold on YouTube or storydomain com
@jonghyun725 because people refused to drive cars that would kill them in minor accidents. Most every horrible styling feature from then til now has been either federally mandated for safety or a cost-cutting measure. High door lines, huge bumpers, featureless panels, no chrome, etc etc etc.
@skaaltel Safety is the main reason I added three-point seatbelts to the car. Also, as swoopy as these old cars look, they don't make the best use of interior space and are not as aerodynamic as new cars. I wouldn't mind a modern daily driver that looked like the old cars, but I'm in the minority ;)
nice car,I restored a 1938 4 seat soft top rhd over here in england .same colour as yours,1 of only 2 in europe,it was in a magazine called classic american.good luck and keep driving the old girl.
@jawa597 hi,yes I know colin and his brother adrian well,it was the three of us that restored the lincoln, may be you have seen the photos of it before and after.colins starting to restore a 2 seat soft top that he bought some time back.small world isnt it?good luck ,and i,ll mention you to colin.
Nooo -- I just missed it ;). Actually, I've put about 1000 miles on it since and have sorted out the tranny issues. You definitely have to keep in mind that you're driving a 72-year-old car with cable brakes!
no rainbow logic, its not crazy. That car has only 3 gears.

Gorgeous. Why don't American cars have curves like this anymore? They all look so boxy and angular these days, with little expressiveness or style.

Do you know Colin S.? I sold him a Columbia rear-end a few years back. He's "Mr. Zephyr" in your neck of the woods.

@jawa597 -- I sold a '38 Columbia set-up to Colin a few years back. Was it put in your car? If so, it is indeed a small world!

Was this car at one time owned by Roy Thorson?
1932Frenchy 2 years ago
Nope, new restoration finished this past summer. Roy's car is now down in a Louisiana collection.
