PlumBlossom is right. Bak Sing is not a family on its own. Since the 70's, there is only one real Choy Li Fut.

@danimuadib Since it's founding in 1836, CLF has one root. With the passing of time theories have developed based on hearsay. If you are suggestion since the 1870's, you are pretty close. Actually, it is documented that in 1848 Chan Heung's first 18 disciples were sent out to spread CLF. There is a detailed record of the lineage of Choy Li Fut through 6 generations located on the Plum Blossom International Federation web site under kung fu history at the last paragraph.

@CLFDevil - Nowadays most kung fu schools do not have enough traditional forms to teach, so they make up their own teaching forms. This is the same as the Chan family people. Not all the Chans learned all of the traditional CLF forms. Some Chan schools also made up their own forms to teach nowadays, too.

But, what you have seen here are the traditional CLF forms.

@CLFDevil - Partially correct. Many people call any form they do not recognize to be from the Futsan branch, mistakenly stating that the form is from the Chan family. All CLF forms are derived from Chan Heung, and his offspring as the "Chan family." If traced back, all CLF forms came from the Chan family at one time. Great Grandmaster's form is from the Jiangmen branch; derived from Chan On-Bak, the elderly son of Chan Heung and from Chan Cheong Mo's teaching.
