Finding ammo can be a pain but if you brutal melee someone, I think its square, triangle, square than the enemy will drop extra ammo when they die. I thinks its double ammo but I haven't played this in a while.

I think the worst part in Uncharted series is that it's only on PS3. Don't get me wrong, I own PS3, but this game would be more successful if it was multiplatform. The exact same thing with InFamous.
