so can you record a loop of some chords and than solo over it without recording? i ask because i love floyd and wanna play the solos with the chords looping , ie comfortably numb
@haynesallica Yes! You can record just a "layer" of chords and "Stop" the recording. Your loop will play till the neighbours complain and your solos will not record. OR you can "keep recording" and each layer will add to the previous.
It's great for working out a lead over a progression you don't have to keep asking your bandmates to "play that section again"
Wud you recommend the Line 6 Delay for a live situation??? Ive been limited to playing an acoustic at gigs as I play alone but id much prefer an electric...so realistically cud i record about 10 'songs' on it consisting of rhythm guitar, bass and drums so then at gigs i cud just do wat i like best and play lead guitar over the tracks?
no i wouldn't cause you only get 14 or 28 seconds of loop time. I'd recommend the roland loopstation RC series. They make three. a small single pedal, a dual pedal and a huge thing with all kinds of features. the DL4 is mostly a delay modeler. the loop sampler is just one of its features. thanks and enjoy.
the fender showman. to the right of the screen under the window. That's my main rig for shows. The musicman 212 you see is my old roommates amp. Sounds as good as a tiwn.
no. when recording you only get the "normal" delay. I think it's the one based off the memory man or the echoplex. but you can tweak the knobs in real time for some wacky effects in your loop
2. no. well, sorta. if you hit the half speed button (rightmost) before you begin your loop. (light will light solid red) you will get 28 seconds of loop. So you're really recording at half speed. once you have your loop in you can hit the half speed (rightmost) button again and it will speed it up to um.. "real time" OR. if you record with the (rightmost) button off you only get 14 sec of recording. And once your loop is complete hit the button for hlf speed.
very nice man i really liked that. i was just wondering what wah u use if any im just asking alot of dudes the sam question coz im ditching my boss v-wah for a crybaby or a vox or a bad horsie
I used to use a crybaby. Good solid amounts of "wah" Don't currently own one. But yeah one that is usable and still "musical" at both extremes. thanks for your qs and comments. they are appreciated!
Get an expression pedal. It acts as a volume for the loop sampler and it allows you to set two delays per preset (Of the same model) toe up = 1 setting toe down = 2nd setting. = 6 presets! The tube echo model is freeking amazing. crank the tweeze just past 12 ... and oh yeah!!! gritty analog bliss. Space echo = very cool sounds too. Get a power supply!
it's 14 seconds. However once you have made a loop you can Slow it to half speed by pressing the rightmost button once. All that to say, you can get an extra 14 seconds (28 total seconds) by hitting this button before you start recording. But once your loop is in you cannot half speed it. It will double time it. thx for asking.
Um no, You can stop recording anytime. "hit record, play riff and hit stop" (loop begins) you get 14 or 28 seconds to make your riff. from there you can add as many layers as you want. Each layer will continue to loop. but as you add more layers the original will begin to fade back.
im so jealous of your amp ive been looking for one like it. i found one and ist way too expensive so its cool whatever i bought a really old 65 for 15 dollars!!! cause he quit guitar and he got it for free
haha yeah, that living room was in constant flux. with two other musician roommates things would literally disappear. and cool things would appear too!

This is really nice soundscaping. Very inspitational. Is it possible to fade out a loop?

you would have to get the separate expression pedal. in loop sampler mode it becomes a volume pedal for the playing loop

hey man i just got my dl4 2day in the mail. I'm pretty new to it and was wondering if you can use any of the effects while u are looping??
benrox26 3 years ago

i wouldnt recomend that with any pedal because if your band goes out of time for one second you will look like shit
benrox26 3 years ago
Yup. We've had success with our drummer wearing headphones. But yeah there's always that on edge feeling.
sparkltone 3 years ago
wo you guys must be really tight 2 be able 2 do that
benrox26 3 years ago
yeah if you have a good drummer. it's much much easier to have a good and tight, band.

definately

2 questions.
1) Can you raise/lower your loop by an octave?
2) Can you speed up your loop?
Thanks!
ascheier 3 years ago
1. nope. that would be nice

question: once i make the loop, can i play without adding layers to it? and just use the loop as background?
birdonawi 4 years ago
oh yeah. Once you lay down your first loop you can leave it just as is and just let it go forever. yeah there is no obligation to add more layers.
sparkltone 4 years ago
thanx spark!

how long is the loop sampler last?

so the riffs will just end until the loop time ends?
