In case anyone doesn't know, the green beverage is Aldebrian Whiskey. Since Whiskey and Scotch are roughly the same type of beverage (Scotch is basically Whiskey made in Scotland) I can see why Scotty likes it so much.

I love the scene later in the same episode where Scotty pours one for Picard and then tries to warn him that it's some hard stuff, but Picard just downs it like it's water. If he can impress Scotty like that, it's just more proof that Picard is more of a bad ass than some want to give him credit for.
