  • Gettin mine in white with the same interior....IF I dont fall in love with the new Lexus GS. Going to test drive it in a few weeks! Decisions, Decisions.

  • I love my W123, but hey I definitely wouldn't mind having one of these, either.

  • @mpgomatic I have a special request for a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter review thanks!

  • M37 all the way!!

  • beautiful vehicle. a friends got one and its a pleasure to drive and be driven in. smooth as anything.

  • @rs2p00nz Good catch!

  • Car looks great wish it made for mpg though.. But considerings its weight its a amazing car

  • Seems to be one of the older diesel engines considering how low it is on power and fuel economy is average at best. BMW has a 3.0L diesel that makes 309 hp and Mercedes will have a similar one soon.

  • i love mid-size sedans

  • I like mercedes a lot. But I i would have to stick with the diesel 335d BMW. It revs higher more horse power and torque. But mercedes is more for luxury than making their diesels higher performance. But BMW is a mix of high performance and luxury. Both great cars

  • Hey Dan, I was wondering if you also reviewed older cars. If you do, can you review the old SL500 R129?

  • @scaremengaviation It would be cool to do older cars. Maybe one day when we have the time and resources ...

  • @amgmeister It all depends on how you drive ... with a light foot on the highway, 800 miles might be possible. The heavier your foot, the lower the MPG.

  • The interior is absolutely gorgeous. I've always loved Mercedes. My family owns 2: a '96 S500 Coupe and a '03 Cl500 AMG Sport ;D

  • absolutely nice review! "swiss watch" = "diesel mercedes"

  • Gawd, I wish I could afford one of these.

  • This consumption - do you know how many liters would it be in Europe? Thx

  • Hahaha. So it can do 0-60 in about the same as a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Duramax?

  • @Motorfordtoyota yeah so what?

  • when you hit 40mph what is the high beam headlight turning on for?

  • @Captainbob25202000 The headlights were on the automatic setting, if I recall correctly. In automatic mode mode, the headlights switch between high and low beams on their own. Kinda spooky. Kinda cool. :)

  • Looks like an "S" class...nice size.

  • What's the MSRP?

  • @76carmel Base: $50,900. Total on the model as tested, $63,120.

  • @mpgomatic Hey Dan.when's the range rover evoque getting released to reviewers????

  • @mahatmacoatmahandbag Not sure. I'll see what I can find out ...

  • @mpgomatic do you ever wish you could keep any of the cars, and steal it and become a fugitive?

  • @saboobuu It's painful to give the great ones back. Ouch! Thank you, Sir! Can I have another? =) On the upside: no payments ...

  • @mpgomatic You're very lucky!! =)

  • @saboobuu No question about it. I thank the stars every day. Thankful, I am. :)

  • seats that automatically bolster when cornering? Wow. Those have got to be the best seats in a car ever...

  • I liked this car when I had it as a loaner. I did not have all of the options but it did have the Bluetec and was a wagon instead of sedan. Didn't the clattering and noise of that diesel drive you nuts if you had the radio off Dan. I hated the sound of it.

  • @flatblackstrat I reckon it's louder than the BMW and VW engines, but it didn't drive me nuts. :) You just gave me an idea for another video ...

  • @mpgomatic MB has some pretty loud engines and some are pretty unrefined from what I've notice. My in law's V350 has a very bad idle that constantly dips and feels like it's going to stall, it also gives a lot of vibration through the pedals.

    What idea is it?

  • This is one great car

  • but how much does it cost?

  • 37 cubic foot trunk? that can't be right

  • @carguy379 D'oh! Thanks for the catch! It should be 15.9 cubic feet. I'll add an annotation to the video ...

  • @mpgomatic haha i was going to say that would be pretty impressive

  • @carguy379 Heh, yep!

  • Trips the scales? (=

  • @ghrpdx D'oh! Yet another trip of the tongue! TIP!

  • @mpgomatic LOL ... well, you're ALMOST perfect, right?

  • @ghrpdx I'll be perfect when I'm dead. :) But hey, it's May 22nd and we're all still here!

  • whats more expensive in US diesel or petrol?

  • @bpatryk69 diesel just like everywhere else.I remember when diesel was much cheaper.

    cheers

  • @bpatryk69 Diesel is approximately US$0.50 per US gallon more than standard gas/petrol is most parts of the US

  • @wheelchairpimp It varies widely, depending on location. I just saw a report posted from Bakersfield, California: Regular @ $4.99 vs Diesel @ $4.15. Locally (NJ), regular unleaded is running between $3.80 and $4.06, while Diesel is running between $3.93 and $4.17.

  • If you want a cheaper option... wait for the 2012 C class 2.5 turbo! :D

  • Not to mention filling up the tank of exhaust gas additives is going to cost several hundred dollars whenever it is serviced.

  • @Evilliboba It all depends on where those fluids are purchased ...

  • if u keep her around 2k rpms they bring excellent mpg

  • So many little gadgets! Can't wait to see if they all still work in 10 years! Haha

  • i like the E-class in general but my favorite is the E550

  • We've got an E-Class but in our case, the E 250 CDI Wagon version (204bhp). In France, on the road to our holidays' house, we managed to get the fuel consumption at 45 mpg at a cruise speed of 80 mph with 4 persons inside and our trunk full of bags. We are really impressed because we used to burn a gallon each 30 miles with our previous Benz.

  • @TheVascer here we go again, when will people learn a gallon outside USA is 20.1% more so you can't compare.USA does not use the imperial system

  • @mahatmacoatmahandbag No, I'm right. I converted 5,2l/100km to US gallon and it equals 45 mpUSg.

  • @TheVascer sorry I'm going senile,I thought I read 54mpg.

    cheers

  • but how much does it cost?

  • @YelIowMamba

Base price is $51k. With options it is easily $60k.

  • @YelIowMamba visit mbusa.com

  • Why isn't the 'common' E 350 CDI sold instead of the BlueTec version? It's more interesting because the normal one delivers more than 265bhp.

  • Really great review. Keep up the good work mpgomatic.

  • @hemroidalrampage Thanks!

  • go diesel go!

  • beautiful car, great review.

  • That car is quite amazing, if I do say. Looks great too.
