@savdbygrace89 Funny you should say that... because anyone who knows anything about the various translations will tell you they're all pushing a particular theology through their words. Subtle changes in wording can make passages say and mean completely different things.

Some people like to add or subtract words from the Bible and we believers of Christ have to be careful and ask God for guidance. For it is not by our doing it is by His. i think it's disgusting for a father to spend time with his son. frankly, i think that's gay. i had to turn away from the screen during those nauseating scenes. I think that the King James Version is the best translation of the Bible. the KJV is clear. the niv, esv, nrsv, lb, nasb and other modern versions replace words and phrases. the language is dumbed down till it no longer sounds or even reads like the language of the Bible, and reads like slang, which is disrespectful to the word of God.

Although I loved "Facing The Giants" & "Fireproof"(even though I'm not married), I believe "Flywheel" has to be my favorite Sherwood movie! It is so everyday life! Maybe not everyone cheats others out of money because of a "business deal", but do we cheat in other ways? Telling white lies, imposing on others time, etc. etc. Do we cheat ourselves, & how much do we cheat God everyday? What do we do with all that God has given us? This is a great movie & God speaks to me every time I watch it!

The "lesson" of this film is that if you give yourself to Christ, he will reward you with material gains. That your finical debts will "miraculously" go away. It is a reprehensible message to send to potential followers of Christ.

When you give yourself to Christ, your reward is an overflow of our Lord's love. Not an overflow of cash. Not an overflow of car sales. You don't need those things...those things are irrelevant.

Yes it's out on DVD - i've bought it from USA and although it's very basic (it was their first film and meant to be for their church....but it spread all over the world!) in terms of production, you'll love it. Same actors as Facing the Giants!! Worth it!! God bless!!!
