I've got the "why hasn't Washington made Medicare means-tested by now?" blues. It's a disgrace that someone who's wealthy and old is just as eligible to get Medicare as someone who's poor. He should have to buy his OWN insurance. No ifs ands or buts.
I've got the big-gov't distorted market blues. Where the left seems to think this is a "free market", and all the failures are COMPLETELY the result of insurance companies and pharmaceuticals and not at all the fault of bad gov't regulations or management. How bout the fact that having insurance pay for 80-90% of your routine healthcare costs DISTORTS the market significantly by insulting consumers against costs? Rather than having them pay a little more out of pocket and shop around?
I've got the "lack of a national competitive market in healthcare" blues, b/c regulators think they're SOO much smarter than us and need to "protect" us from all the "evils" of a national market, despite there being national markets in EVERY OTHER type of insurance. I've got the "bureaucrats and state politicians forcing way too many mandates on even basic insurance plans and raising premiums artificially" blues.
Lastly, I've got the "when is the left gonna stop distorting the 47 million number when the amount of citizens who can actually not afford HC or are ineligible for gov't programs is about half that" blues. Seriously, even if it were 50 million, that's 15% of the population. You REALLY wanna overhaul and potentially fuck up our entire system just to help a mere 15% of the country while the other 85% are insured? No way in hell. That's crazy talk.
I'd like to put opponents of universal health care in charge of pulling the chemo tubes out of arms of cancer patients who happen to be part of the millions of uninsured working poor. Why not just take them out and shoot them? It would be much more humane than the slow death many endure from the lack of access to adequate care.
Great work, James! I was praying that Kentucky would retire McConnell in November. You came close, just like we did with Saxby Chambliss here in GA.
