If by finger tricks you mean grinds, then yah finesse with wide axle attachment are great for those. We use finesse for everthing. Personally I think that other diabolos are too heavy and wreck my wrists, but other people prefer the stability that comes with the weight.

Actually last year I was a second year Charlie and you're only allowed 2 years so I'll be getting an actual engineering internship this summer.

I believe the G3s are slightly heavier and the weight is distributed a little differently, but other than that they're pretty much the same.
