@MrAndrewsiii - I do know what I am talking about. The package said .38 Spl BUCK SHOT. Yes the correct terminology should have been snake or bird shot but they decided to deem it buck shot. So don't comment when you have no idea what you are talking about.
i shot my dads 38. special last week he told me "keep a tight grip on it" i did... it was soo loud and had kick lol it is a nice gun though inacurate but nice :)
@ASSDECUBITUS Cant you just relocate them? Ive done that for people. The way I see it, snakes are kinda like Clint Eastwood roaming in the mountains alone just wanting to be left alone, he dosnt look for trouble, just happens to show up on the wrong land now and then and his life gets flipped. They never kill him, they worry, then like him, then send him out lol. Next time you see one just say, I cant shoot Clint Eastwood!
I've used those same rounds in my snubbie. We call the snake loads where I live because that's mostly what we use them for. I have a S&W 342pd (.38 spl.+P).
ROFL, yea. Idk I didnt have a real good set up that day...was lazy. I am trying to make more videos of my other real guns...but college is hindering me...
Yep, thats a classic little thirtyeight you got there. It's funny to see all the people asking where you got the stocks, newbies, wood was pretty much standard until the mid-nineties or so. Anyway, nice little shooter, it looks like your ejector rod was about to come off as I could see the spring, might want to give a few turns and tighten it up.
This is an 82 Charter. The company went out of business in the 1990s when there was strong competition from inexpensive South American imports. In 2000 it was re birthed Charter Arms. Named Charter 2000. You only see rubber grips now because it is what is standard. However the one I have is a classic. That is why I have the grips I have.
Strange it said buckshot on the case as it's about as buckshot as a motorcycle is an 18 wheeler. I guess large corporations are allowed to make mistakes now and then (unless it involves deepwater oil rigs, then they'd better get it right). :P
I just purchased a hundred Speer shot capsules to reload my own shotshells for my inexpensive Armscor Md200 purchased specifically for shotshells to use against snakes and other undesirables during sweaty yardwork.
Yea, it is deff. not buckshot lol. It is a snake shot...but w.e. Very ineffective against anything but small varmint...even then you have to be close. Thanks for the comment
hell yea put hollow points in that fucker and if anyone gets crazy put them to sleep!!! Nah JoKES!!!! stay safe kids dont use guns unless your life is in danger and depends on it.
i want to buy a charter 38 but the grips suck on the model(s) i want. (38 with hammer) i like your gun. are those aftermarket grips? they make the gun look 100% better.
Those shot rounds are for dispatching rodents and snakes at very close range, a couple of feet at the most.
You ejector rod is broken, the end of it should not be sticking out like that. That is a nice old Charter. It says "Stratford, CT" on the barrel indicating its a second generation, made 1970-1990 roughly.
I have a Police Undercover, the larger six shot model, on layaway right now. i can't wait to bring it home!!
Its not broken the spring was not inside the shroud like it should be if it was broken the cylinder wouldn't be able to hold and would be dangerous to shoot. It was just assembled incorrectly by last person that used it (not me) and I didn't notice it. The gun is prob 20 years old
No telling. It is my fathers. It was bought in 1982 and I personally have shot...maybe 100 rounds are more in it. It is a fun gun to shoot; however, personally I rather shoot a .22lr, and if I wanted something for defense prob a .45 or 9mm
just curious...is it an older gun perhaps?...cause i know all charter arms right now come with a shrouded ejector rod...never seen and ejector rod that looks like that is all...
This was one of Charter's original .38's. It was mainly used by police as a reliable back-up weapon to their primary arms. The ejector rod, doesn't have a shroud, which makes it look kind of funny. Care must be given, less you end up dropping it and bending that puppy. Nice weapon. Thanks for the post!
It says buckshot on the case that the bullets came in. snakeshot and ratshot just further classifies it on what its really for. Due to the fact these are not really effective at all.
This is the same type of gun that ended the life of John Lennon.

You need to know what you are talking about before making a video, the is no such thing as buck shot in 38 spl.

You commented on the loudness of the rounds when you fired them. I'm debating on a 38 special loaded with shotshell for shooting snakes.
How loud is the 38 special when you shoot shotshell?
Is the decibel level the same as when you shoot a "regular" solid bullet? More or Less?
Thanks for anyone's comment ahead of time!
