In Sweden its the same, not many men are wearing speedos. I only swim in speedos and some other brands as long as it is a briefmodel. I hate swimshorts becasue they are uncomfortable. For me, swimbriefs are the only thing to wear in the lane or at the beach!!!!!

Well, everyone is entitled to express their own opinion and thoughts. My opinion is that people who ridicule swim briefs are just plain closed minded and immature. To say they are "gross" is just gross to hear that! Growing up in the 80's, swim briefs were acceptable. I think swim briefs are less popular now due to the "hip-hop" and "baggy" fashion influence.

But I was talking to a Swedish friend and he told me that speedos are frowned at in Sweden too, which was a total surprise to me.

I'm in the U.S. and I only recently started wearing speedos. A lot of guys here don't wear them, even though they are sexy as hell. I have only worn them twice and I will say it does take guts, but well worth it. I JUST got the body I wanted and DAMMIT I want to flaunt it. It takes a few guts when I walk out of the locker room, but once I'm in the spotlight it feels SOOO good. The looks you get are fun. I get a few winks, from men and woman. Feels good. :)

It's very simple. In the USA, if you are a straight man, your wife or woman (with a few exceptions) doesn't want you to wear one. Number two: the whole "gay lib" thing made homosexual males much more visible to the general population and many of them (but not all) wear them.
