Schubert is amazing, his music is what i hear when i think of the 17th century. so much passion shadowed by the very progression that brought upon a modern era.
i agree...the bass really translates well in this version. the other versions I've heard on youtube seem too weak and personable. Schubert's music was basically songs and this version comes over that way.

It's more of an exercise piece than a show piece, but impressive all the same.
