I am a graduate of ORU. I can tell you.......something was going on. Things were always hush hush when I there.......where there is smoke there is fire.
The Word Faith Movement in my opinion has the wrong view of God as it places trust in metaphysics as opposed to trust in God. It relies on a Universal Faith-Force that is in obedience to certain cosmic laws that God also must obey. God becomes something that can be manipulated through Positive Affirmation. Word Faith techniques such as Positive Confession and faith are not one in the same as it promotes ones own selfish desires
I don't know what particular scription your are referring to, but very few, if any, people actually follow biblical scripture. Even when waving the bible around, people know that many of the "ethical" lessons in the Bible are repugnant by today's standards. The moral zeitgeist has never stopped moving.
It is very clear to me these accusers are NOT hearing from God because:
They are not following the scriptures on how a mature christian is to handle situations if they find someone in error.
They are sueing which is another thing against the scripture guidelines.
They gave the documents they found to the Board of Regents and at that point it was the duty of the Board to handle any misconduct if they found it to be true.
Um... Tallie, as I'm sure you were @ ORU.. Wait a minute, no you weren't! I can say that because you honestly wouldn't say that if you had attended the university at the time this all occurred.
Just fyi, the "Board of Regents" at the time, was stocked with all of Richard's friends, including (but not limited to), Marilyn Hickey, Benny Hinn, and more.
Those people knew/know about running a university about as much as I know about performing open heart surgery.
