there is more than just great guitar on candyrat , there is also great vocals, great lyrics ,great piano, great violinists, great bassists etc ... i hate when ppl just say that the guitar isnt complicated enough... they have lost the meaning of what they should be looking for in good music IMO. like ppl going to see movies for FX and not the story ...cheap thrills. reminds me of ppl who like commercial crap .

Isn't Candyrat about getting out good music and not just great guitarists? This is a great sounding song with good vocals, very nice piano, and a simple guitar chord pattern that allows for the better vocals and piano to take control of the song. Guitar is not the be all and end all of musical instruments and it does not always need to be the lead of a song. Quit complaining and expand your horizons.

People worry too much about the quality of the guitar playing. This dude's songwriting is excellent, he is to songwriting what 'Don Muh Fuckin Ross' is to acoustic guitar, what Michael Manring is to bass and what Reign of Kindo are to pure band musicianship. It's not about a song being simple, it's about singing and playing it with soul. Wonderwall by Oasis is the simplest guitar riff ever but it's one of this centuries greatest songs. This is a great example of that, and the piano works amazingly with this song, you need to listen more into this song everybody! : )

And music isn't all about playing fast and having crazy good technique... I've heard from CandyRat guitarists themselves that most of them listen to music you'd probably label as "simple".

They have something special, an amazing talent in both instrumental and vocal styling. that's what separates the good from the great when it comes to singer songwriters. I never said it was all about playing fast, or having crazy good technique, but playing a few chords strummed out with a simple ass rhythm and a capo just isnt great.

If you looked through the whole candyrat page you would realize that excellence can describe not only mad guitar skills, but also brilliant song writing. This artist isn't striving for fancy stuff, he is breaking it down and finding beauty in the simplicity that a guitar can have. Whilst carrying a lovely melody and gorgeous lyrics full of meaning. Candy rat is in an amazing direction.
