  • hmong lao traditional dance is gone so this all that is left, still very good indeed but if ur talking about traditonal significant dance routines than only hmongs from other countries know, because now this is the only hmong lao stuff left

  • yea the bomb

  • omg, so FINE guys dancing.

  • haha..hei!!...we're dancing to this song too!!...hahaha....

  • they were awesome:)....cute dance.

  • this is the bomb

  • hey thank you for uplaoding this ....Im one of the dancer.

  • Aww, that was a cute dance.

  • yeah!!!! finally a dance thats actually HMONG! hahah

  • what do you mean by HMONG?

  • i meant this is actually something that we can call "TRADITIONAL" u know?.. not those hyper active- jumping dances that consider themselves traditional... thats more of entertainment etc, not "traditional hmong dance" u know.. u get it?... hehe

  • true....by the way, im one of those dancers.

  • actually, I'm the choreographer...

  • really?! great job! i liked it! i hope u took my comment as compliments. hehe.. u guys did great!!

  • well i think that those hyper active hmong dances show how much we hmong people has grown with the arts...it shows our intelligence and how we can adapt to our surroundings...so the way i see it it is part of our culture now...and yes its for entertainment....dancing is alwaiise for entertainment..traditional or not...

  • i understand ur theory but traditional is meant to showcase what we as a culture has done years ago etc. things that are traditional shouldnt evolve to the point where the traditional aspect is gone, therefore the hyper active dancing shouldnt be considered "traditional" it should just stay as dancing and not be labeled as traditional. culture is different from tradition.

  • yeah i know..but then the hyperactive dances evolved from the traditional dances..there still keeping some of its origins in them so we cannot just strip the word "traditional" from the more modern day type of dances...and if you look closely and observe it more...you can see we mostly used the moves that resemble our old traditional ways...such as zom zeb and tuam cos we still use the same movements to resemble them...so there fore the word traditional shouldnt be earased from it like totally..

  • when u change tradition its no longer tradition anymore. when doing dancing with those specific moves, in a hyperactive dance, i think one should label it as a modern hmong dance adpated to modern day style. over bouncing, and hopping across the stage is not traditional therefore its showcasing our tradition in dancing incorrectly. dont get me wrong not all fast hmong dances are bad, except there are some that do not resemble tradtional dance at all.

  • well actually...taditional miao (hmong) dance is fast and hyper active...so there fore u can concider it traditional...so it still is traditional...go research miao dancing on youtube..u'll find it...

  • Miao is different. they are categorized as a hill group in china (they dance to mainly chinese music) thus saying that the hmong orginated from them is correct, but to say that the miao is hmong, thats partially incorrect. the miao dance like that because its traditional and theyve done it year ago. the hmong im talking about is different. i would think u know wat im talking about. trust me, im hmong chinese (grandfather full chinese) and i come no where near miao.

  • hahaha...miao is considered to be hmong they may speak different dialects of the language but we still share some basic words and plus where ever we've been we've adapted to their ways of life the slow type has been taken from thai and laos traditional dances the more up beat has been take frm chinese and american ways of dancing so technically we cant really call anything traditional...just because its slow and not upbeat doesnt mean its totally traditional hmong...

  • yeah im saying if you choose to do a "miao hmong" song, do it the way they do it, if you choose to do a lao/thai song do it the rite way. the hmong in this video is not miao inspired is it?no! im not miao, im not thai or lao. apart from the miao, lao and thai inspired songs, hmong is totally different. all im saying is if a hmong group wants to do dances inspired by other races or cultures other than the hmong you choose to represent, at least label it as what it is inspired by.

  • hahaha...sure sure..this isnt goin no where...so how was ur day..

  • OMG ! i was there on that night ! =] it was awesome ! & thanks for uploading !

  • BTW do anyone know what the song is called?

  • search suab nag yaj and kos lis.

  • the song is called Nkauj Toj Siab Nraug Hauv Nroog by Suab Nag & Kos Lis

  • That was amazing JFK. Keep up the great work with the Hmong Club and traditional dance.

  • Heheh, I had a blast at the Hmong Cultural Night Show. Husa rocks. ^^
