Christ where did the last 30 years go? I had just turned 21 and had the world by the balls. A long time fried had turned me on to The Police shortly before this album was released.
love the music. i can play this on piano but i need two other people playing drums & bass with me unless i was to play it all myself & dub it with each instrument, like my bro Prince does....
Instead of worrying about my clothes I could be someone that nobody knows.
The lyric is BORING not pouring.
Sounds like pouring because of the musical references to rain, remember those boring rainy days when you couldn't go out to play and there was nothing to do, and mum would say " I wish I had time to be bored"
@john35acts238 thank u 4 the lyrics, i thought i had it right but reading this made me realize i made up some of my own lyrics cuz i didnt quite hear it right. kudos
Very good. note to Sis :) Copeland uses traditional grip, would have been great if that small detail would have been included. I do believe HE wrote that song, and not Sting. Overall I love it! AAAAA+++++
very creative video. Nice job. Sometimes I wish I had never woken up this morning because life was easy when it was boring and I wouldn't mind being replaced by any bright spark.
one of the best songs Copeland ever wrote. Andy and Stewart were good songwriters but the record company always went with Sting's music because it was more Pop to generated more money. A lot of those Sting songs were borderline mediocre and they could have put Andy and Stewart songs in their place
youve got a lot of talent , really you could end up doig this for a living... imagine al the great bands you coul work for...its also a favorite of mine, (darkness) .first time i heard it was when i baught the cd some years back...the song litterally glued to my conscience. like if it came towards me, like if it belonged there.
first listening of this song...very impressive and cool video! If I hadn't read info I'd think this was the original video! Congrat to you and to your little sister she's so cute with that stick-stool drum set! :) peace
You are a real filmmaker!!! Excellent work. Nice editing, use of effects, cinematography...and writing. You are going places!!! Keep-up the great work!!!!!
This is incredible! Congratulations! You have really succeeded in making this great song even a little bit better. But I somehow feel there's something missing in this video - a clock. Somehow I see the hands of a clock moving when listening to this song.
But nevertheless: An astounding piece of art, it truely is!!!
Wow, thank you so much for this! "Darkness" is one of my favourite Police songs and it's nice to see someone giving credit to it.
You did an amazing job with this vid!! The atmosphere you created is perfect for the song. I also love how you used Sting's look from the "Every Breath You Take" vid.
Have they ever did this song in concert ??/ This is one of my favorite Police songs !!!! I've seen them twice on the synchronicity tour and the reunion tour !1
it's very sad that the songs like darkness (it's by stewart copeland) don't have a music video because thy aren't by sting or are not famous. you've made a great job

also the image of u laying on the floor with "life was easy when it was boring.." was very nice.
ok, im just getting a little sick of people making their own videos to some one else's music. write you own shit duche bag. didn't you think people would notice the cd player on the wall? didn't exist in 1981! make your own shit!
What an asshole you are......ever think that this may reflect this guys thoughts in the present day ??? - why dont you get off your fucking redneck ass and try and do better...lets face it...we wont hold our breath....we'd be waiting a hell of a long fucking time
That's the darkness video for me. My second favorite song off Ghost after Every Little Thing. Well done Ryan. Love the girl on the chair juxtaposed with Stewart. Top Marks.
"Darkness" captured the essence of The Police sound.Stewart's master performance on drums(the trademark of the group and of this song),Andy's distinctive & exceptional guitar perfomance & Sting's incomparable vocals(couldn't sound better). This is one of their best songs on their musical catalog,a gem not realized as a single, but perhaps the more loyal to The Police sound on the "Ghost In The Machine" album.Ryan, you got future on the film industry! Thanks for this awesome piece of art!Excelent!
Great job, Ryan! Easily one of The Police's most underrated songs. I love Sting, but Stewart wrote a gem of a song. I always thought I was the only one who loved this song this much. Keep up the good work!
I don't need the darkness in my life, but this a totally underrated POLICE song! How can it be,over 25 years ?? For me was it the best(and the band had many brilliant songs).THANKS TO RYANPRODUCTIONS FOR THE EXCELLENT CLIP ! good job

When I was your age (cue sfx of creaking rocking chair) I went to sleep to this song every night as it was the final track on the album while pining and swooning away for my first girlfriend. We dated for four years and went our seperate ways but just saw each other for the first time in 20 years this past summer. I'm 43 now and just thought of this song to sing to my daughters and found your vid...well done young feller!

Monkcr...The Police broke up long before he was even born! So yeah, it is very impressive! They were almost before my time too. I was too young to go to any of their concerts back then, but I vaguely remembered their songs being on the radio in the early and mid-1980s. I did have a Synchronicity album on record when I was little...but by the time I was old enough to really appreciate their music, they had already long since broken up. I was still a major fan though.
Very good video, here in Santiago de chile missing 3 days for the concert of THE POLICE with 60,000 thousand people IN SANTIAGO, CHILE, goodbye friend.
Actually, KahunTony, I think the video was very well done. And I've been a Police fan since I was a little kid...long before you. It is cool that this kid even knows this song. This wasn't one of their better known songs. I never heard it on the radio or anywhere, only when I got a box set.
Incredible job!Its about time that song finally gets the recognition it deserves.Great job kid, keep doin what youre doing cause its good!! kudos to Stewart for writing it!!
well, that was fantastic.......the song has always been a favourite of mine (41yr old)...but what a great clip. Ryan, you and your sister should be congratulated.
Just emailed Andy Summers website with the link to this - I figured Andy is more accessible... Maybe others could do the same or spread the news some similiar way... this kid deserves a break...

Written by Stewart Copeland
I can dream up schemes when I'm sitting in my seat
I don't see any flaws 'til I get to my feet
I wish I never woke up this morning
Life was easy when it was boring
I could make a mark if it weren't so dark
I could be replaced by any bright spark
But darkness makes me fumble
For a key, to a door that's wide open

Actually, KahunTony, I think the video was very well done. And I've been a Police fan since I was a little kid...long before you. It is cool that this kid even knows this song. This wasn't one of their better known songs. I never heard it on the radio or anywhere, only when I got a box set.

Just emailed Andy Summers website with the link to this - I figured Andy is more accessible... Maybe others could do the same or spread the news some similiar way... this kid deserves a break...
