Contrary to the dumbass that said the rest of the album sucks, this album was excellent, it was a bit of a departure from their first 2 albums which had a 70's sound, but this album is still my 2 favorite next to the first which is often undercredited as on the greatest rock albums of all time, in my top 5...
this is probably... my most favorite song generated by the 80's. i lived it. i loved it. im so happy you posted it so i didnt have to go get my CD out to hear it. thank you.
I love listening to old school music like this, but I hate that WITHOUT FAIL... there is some annoying comment that says "what happened to real music like this?" There is still "real music" its just harder to find, STFU
..Can u imagine the kids of today looking back 20 30 years back...And say "YEAH MAN,Those were the days EMINEM,LiL Wayne,Lady Gaga...When we pulled our pants down and wore gold teeth and we had to ALWAYS LOOK TOUGH"..lol...Gimme a BREAK...God Bless
@mattdaddyful, I won't be one of them, that's for sure. I'm 18 but love rock and completely dislike any of today's pop and rap shit. It's rock and rock only for me, man. Rock on.
What a great song. I didn't realize this song was from Third Stage, released in 1986. I thought it was one of their 70s songs. Boston was the only band that could release an album in 1986 and make it sound like it could've been released in 1976.
How a band could become so iconic and have so many revered classic rock gems come off of only three albums speaks volumes to how great they were.
The great thing about Boston is that you can crank the volumne up to ten and your ears don't hurt because they are so smooth/polished and well produced, they (Tom Scholtz) know their technical stuff.
Wished this song and 'Hitch a Ride' were on greatest hits instead of the newer songs that were on it. Boston can't be Boston without Brad Delp, so I don't see anymore Boston albums ever again.
Just going through a bad time right now, my father is dying and suffering. The end is very near for him, just need to hear some music and this is what I searched out. This song and album has always moved me. (class of 1986)
we waited so long for this album , they had legal problems ,, i guess,, ! this would be there last great set of songs , not that they didnt make more good music , just that the music is spaced farther apart , with different members and stuff but we have there songs to keep us company through the argurice times ,if anyone is seeing this message that can influence them to make more please feel free to do so,, my plee is ,,,,, please make more music BOSTON
a very complicated epicness strewed together with the boston feel. This song is like having your pie and eating it as well. All though at this moment i would like a little white room or magic carpet ride.
My middle name came from this awesome band with Amanda the year I was born, now it's my wedding song and my husband and I listened to this song on our way to get married and home as well as Amanda!!! Awesome band from the 80's!!!!!
ahhh yes i do believe this was the era that was the peak for rock music. comparing 80's rock to todays "rock" is like comparing a sports car to sack of dog shit (todays music being the sack of dog shit of coarse! LOL XD)
@Friedchikenz it was Tom Stolz's anal retentive, perfectionistic nature that lifted them to great heights, but it also hindered any chances of long term success.
@rayjr62 I've pondered this for some time, and I've finally come to the conclusion, after half a day's thought devoted to the ending of the Delp era, that the lack of proliferation is acceptable.
It's in our nature to be greedy and wish for more, but his relentless and even seemingly absurd insistence upon element after element being tried and cast aside creates some kind of perfection and craftsmanship we don't ever find in our "per-track MP3/ITunes" market.
@rayjr62 And, as a side note, the last concert in which Delp performed was a celebration of the 30th anniversary of their debut album. over 3 decades is a pretty reasonable career, wouldn't you say?
