  • A-For-Da-Ble Health' will save our economy,

it is in the best interest of everybody,

if every job moves out of the country,

than (tell me) whose gonna pay the medical fee?

  • No more Profit$ over People!

NADER/Gonzalez are for single-payer Health Care

so ALL Americans will have it and the MAJORITY want.

    NO more PAY-or-DIE Healthcare $ystem!

18,000 Americans WILL DIE next year who lack access to health care!

47 Million Americans HAVE NO health care!

    Vote Nader/Gonzalez '08!

  • Awesome! Me and my family have to choose sometimes between medicine or other neccesity's and my Grandmother can not afford her medication at all. We have to bring her food and the whole family chips in for medicine which costs over 100 dollars for 30 pills.

  • I'm ALL for The Single Payer Plan. To BUY Health Insurance does NOT pay 100% of the bill.

  • It is time for the bullS**t to end. I am doing what I can to spread the word that Ralph is the best candidate for the job.

    I completely believe it too.

  • Good message, but the music gave me a headache in less than a minute. Ouch!

  • If you HAVE a MySpace Page and/or Facebook, SEND videos like this one to as many friends as you can!

    I send them as comments.

Do you have "Hi5"? The postings work there, too! I found out you must be sure to ad the person's name or something to each comment sent so it does not come off as spam.

Do ALL you can to get the word OUT!

    Ralph Nader & Matt Gonzalez - 2008!

    More Voices. More Choices.

  • Great Music Video! It gets to the point! Vote Nader/Gonzalez 2008!

  • @ votenader08

if you look at youtube com/youchoose

they suppress Nader's message (they ONLY post O and M for candidates on front page)

on the left side there is a box that says

"What did the candidates say?" and if you look up health it lists Hook as "mentions health"

    please consider adding to title:

    Nader on health care

  • watch this video of Mccain not being to comprehend a question and compare to Nader's intelligent responses

    watch?v=w1AjO-IxfMY

  • ...not being able to ...

  • The issue is single payer universal health care. All of the industrialized (wealthy) counties in the world have it but us!

    What is up with that?

Health care is a human right! Are Americans barbarians? Or are they just stupid?

  • Too much corporate political power is the answer to almost every major issue, including this one.

  • All this talk about homeopathy made me think of how Obama is like homeopathy, full of promises and hope, but when it is time to deliver it turns out it is just diluted water.

  • Yourbike, that is an accurate assessment. However, I would place that label on almost every politician in Washington.

  • do not miss this week's

BILL MOYERS JOURNAL | Capitol Crimes | PBS

  • This video is off the wall! I don't care about Nader, the band rips! Who are they?

  • No one is going to vote a socialist like Nader, except the extremists in the Democrat party. This will help John McCain win.

  • What?!?

I'm an Independent voter who is sure as hell going to vote for Nader, a corporate-free candidate.

To hell with the Democrat party.

  • The Canadian health care system is wasteful, inefficient, and does not provide leading-edge treatments, only those treatments supporting big corporations..the drug companies, big tech companies, building expensive diagnostic machines (radiation, MRI,gadgets) that don't positively affect health outcomes. Care is disjointed and impersonal, with long waiting times in ERs and for treatments. Simple, inexpensive treatments like EDTA/chelation are run out of town. It's all bout corporate profit/money.

  • A single payer system can mean you have only one choice in your care-Theirs(drugs/surgery)! I'm in Canada, forced to pay by tax to a singlepayer system. Unfortunately, their "treatment of choice" didnt cure my asthma;homeopathy did, and I paid for it myself. If I don't want chemo or radiation, but some other alternative treatment for cancer, I have to pay for it out of pocket.. and still fund the system I don't use.

I prefer Ron Paul's..let people keep their money and choose their care!

  • 4kab123 you will have problems in life if you keep using homeopathic preparations instead of real medicine. They are a scam, they do not work any better than a placebo. watch?v=BWE1tH93G9U

  • Yourbike- Read "The Cure" by Dr. Timothy Brantley. You will change your mind. I thought that at one time, too, but that book really opened my eyes. Overmedicating in a drugs-for-profit system seems more harmful to the body. Homeopathy, unlike the drug industry, focuses on prevention, not suppressing symptoms of illness.

  • well you didn't watch the clip that only takes 14 minutes yet you tell me to read a whole damn book. But I will be honest and tell you I will not find and read the book either way, I'm honest like that.

  • Yourbike: Well it's your loss and your health.

If you were honest with yourself though you would open-minded. Not closed-minded and stubborn.

You have been programmed by the pharmacuetical industry.

  • nportillo, I very rarely need any meds, and definately will never need any placebos, neither should you if you are serious about your money/health. Can you not think any other reason why I would not buy and use my time on that book other than me closeminded or sheep? Are those the authors words or yours, did he tell you to watch out for closeminded people? Randi has over one million dollars to give to anyone who proves homeopathy or anything else paranormal. Perhaps you are that person?

  • Yourbike, I've studied nutrition over half my life as an athlete. I can tell what's what and have seen it all as far as claims go. That book made my brain click; it makes sense.

Just as bad it seems is the health food industry. Look around Trader Joe's and most of the food is still loaded w/sugar & preservatives, processed foods.

The author says that disease cannot live in a truly healthy body. When we eat unhealthy, it causes a breeding ground for disease to grow.

  • Randi is the biggest fraud goin. He doesn't have any money and won't honestly look at any challenge... always finds some bogus reason to disqualify. Who cares about a professional skeptic. So many people benefit from homeopathy and other alternatives ....they couldn't care less about a kook who wants to keep big corporatons firmly in power and stand in the way of cheap effective solutions to health concerns.

  • "Real medicine" aka steroids for asthma I had for 16 yrs caused cataracts, bone thinning & didn't help my asthma. Homeopathy cured it in 6 weeks. I haven't had to use homeopathy since. End of story.

  • yourbike, google ronniesremedies for the homeopathy clinic that cured my asthma (long distance! BTW). Maybe they have something for idiotic closedmindedness that dismisses useful treatments without examining them.

  • The point is that everybody should have access to health care.

  • No such a system would survive in America. No one dies in America because they cannot afford health insurance. In America, people choose not have health insurance. The reason the system is struggling is because of MEDICARE AND MEDICAID. The government promises benefits to people and then fails to pay the providers the full cost of the care.

  • *nods*

  • But that is because of people allowing their government to spend their tax payers money a military budget that is already >50% of gov. spending which Obama & McCain want to expand. They're both spending money on occupation in Iraq, war in Afghanista & Pakistan, continued annual funding of Israel's military, using taxpayers money to bail our corupt corporations relying on socalism as Nader highlights. All the people do is vote them in again & complain the government isn't investing in their future.

  • hi everyone please take a moment and send the following message:

    Subject: VIEWER'S CHOICE!

    Message:

Please invite Ralph Nader. I want to see Ralph Nader on Larry King Live!

    thank you

  • Seeing the numbers of views on his videos jump dramatically makes me excited.

    Nader 08

  • The War is really whats killing this country.. .just stop the war please don't vote for either of the two main line canidates that will keep us at war for another 4 years.

  • More government in you life is what the single payer health insurance will create. Are you ready to let the government decide if you live or die???

  • health before wealth!

  • Stop the music Stop the music

  • I admire Nader's idealist views, but this utopia by supply-side philanthropists is unachievable.

PAY OR DIE would realistically turn into WAIT AND DIE.

  • That is true. I've been lucky enough to not be in need of healthcare in the hospital in Britain but waiting lists are long. But then again, people in America below certain incomes don't even get on the waiting list. The addition of privatisation to Britan's healthcare systen has created a 2 tier system where for minor problems the waiting lists are fine, but for major problems you see the difference in waiting lists. But if the government would stop wasting money on war then it'll equalise.

  • However, a transfer from corporate run to government run healthcare does give you as people more rights and control over the healthcare system if you choose to exercise it. The type of citezen activism that NAder has built a career on from the outside in holding the government accountable by letter, discussions, challenging politicians & making them know their vote is conditional to them representing you & producing results is what will make the gov. improve & our public is too lazyy to mobilise.

  • Thank you YouTube for adding this video to your Youchoose08 playlist for the 31st of July 2008.

  • The video was decent, but the music just isn't my cup of tea -- and that goes for the A-bomb and 1984 videos, too. Could be more informative and persuasive as well.

At any rate, keep 'em coming.

  • Nader videos have suceeded in causing a stir to many issues.

This video caught the eye of The Boston Globe stating:

"Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader today posted a retro-looking web video that highlights his proposal for a single-payer,healthcare system.

A government-run system is needed to cover all estimated 47 million Americans without health insurance."

McCain & Obama's plans...."would only continue the current commercial set-up that the ad calls "pay or die.""

  • Get rid of the druggierock music. Forget statistics like how many people die without healthcare. That percentage of the population is so small as to be insignificant and includes counts from auto and farm accidental deaths. Forget single payer, it just makes corruption easier. Require everyone to have a policy they pay for, just like the insurance on their car that the state requires before you can legally drive it on the road. This "larger" pool of subscribers funds a "universal" system.

  • "Forget statistics like how many people die without healthcare. That percentage of the population is so small as to be insignificant..."

Is this what you think of those who died on 9/11?

  • i'm out gathering signatures for ralph to get him on the ballot in ny state, and i've voted for him in the last 2 elections, and feel he is the best candidate for president hands down, but this vid does not convey that. the 'music' doesn't add anything, it only turns otherwise receptive voters off.

  • Go Nader. I hope he gets to debate. It will be a different story then!!!

  • sweet times ten!

  • This is a music video. It doesn't explain the single-payer system. It doesn't educate the viewer. It's pointless fluff. I like Nader and will most likely vote for him, but this is no way to win converts to his cause.

  • I think the purpose of the Nader videos is to create a stir on certain issues to attact new audiences to want to find out more about the cause.

This video has already caught the eye of the Boston Globe stating:

"Independent presidential candidate Ralph Nader today posted a retro-looking web video that highlights his proposal for a single-payer healthcare system"

McCain's & Obama's plans "would only continue the current commercial set-up that the ad calls "pay or die.""

  • "I just don't feel I deserve health care."

  • In the end it boils down to corruption. Even Canadian health care has people dying while they are on waiting lists. Universal care is ok until someone creates artificial scarcities to ration benefits availability.

Rationing and waiting lists are designed in their medical process. If we don't like that we will have to design ours different.

  • So... UHC and single-payer are NOT the same thing?? What's the difference? Don't both of them nationalize the system and require us to pay more in taxes to fund it? Don't both cover all citizens?

I had been led to believe by UHC proponents that they were the same. Are there really any substantial differences?

  • Your question underlines why Clinton/Obama are being deceiving on healthcare. Nader/McKinney/Kucinich support Single-Payer, which has a definition, & can be researched. There is already Single-Payer legislation called HR-676. When Barack says "universal health care", he just means that he will try under the profit based system to cover some more people... e.g. leave the private insurers in control. With Obama, 100% of Americans WON'T be covered as they would be under single-payer.

  • And I don't mean to bash or preconceive about Nader, but why not just use the term "national healthcare"?? Why does he keep referring to it as "single-payer"? Isn't that just a euphemism that national health care proponents use because they're afraid of people's reaction to the term "universal healthcare"??

How is UHC "single-payer" anyway? wouldn't it be "collective payer"? I'd call what we have now a single-payer system. This terminology is really weird, if you ask me.

  • I thought it referred to the fact that all American taxpayers would pay to the same organization which, in turn, would provide health care to all. That's just how I understand the term.

  • allc0re, you are right. everyone would contribute to one fund (the "single payer"), and thus, no one would ever be denied coverage. everyone pays up front. important to remember... under single-payer, healthcare is still privately delivered! the government doe NOT provide any healthcare. it is funded publicly, provided privately.

  • I agree with national health care in theory, but wouldn't it screw things up if we let the gov't take over? We need a balance of public and private solutions when it comes to the health care 'crisis'. I don't think going totally private and deregulating like the libertarians want or totally nationalizing it like Nader wants is the trick. Wouldn't it be too expensive? And how do you justify making the other 85% pay out the ass for this b/c only 15% can't afford HC?

  • I'm not against a welfare state, but national healthcare would REALLY increase gov't expense. Sure, it could save some money in terms of paperwork and all that, but I don't think those savings would be enough to pay for the healthcare of all Americans. Germany, so I hear, has one of the best-rated HC systems, and it does have some national health care, but it's a lot more privatized nowadays than several decades ago. Even Britain is allowing wealthier patients to opt out of the system.

  • Speaking as someone from Britain I will say that n healthcare system i perfect, but I am happy with the taxpayer system we have because it means no one is denied servic on the basis of income which is a principle that the US sysem doen't have. I'm uncomfortable with profit being part of the healthcare system because the motives are about profit, not care and looking after patients is expensive. I don't mind an additional private sector for the rch, as i just means even less waiting time.

  • If they don't get their polocy straight, which they won't, I'm voting for Ralph Nader!

  • nader has my vote so that it won't be wasted!

  • He's exactly right. I'm voting for him and I'm sending him money and trying to convince every intelligent person I know to do the same.

The other "candidates" are not _for_ the people of the US, unless you are talking about the 1% at the top.

  • Vote Nader '08 ... metalheads of the world, unite!

  • Mr. Ralph Nader is the Benjamin Franklin of the 21st century with only one exception. 90% of American's are way TOO stupid to figure this out. America is in trouble because it's citizens are lazy fools. Mr. Nader wants to help. No one has the ability to listen. An absolute tragedy.

  • the biggest shocker is that a relatively small group of fed up citizens can effect real change.

more people illegally downloaded music than voted in the last election. if enough people get together, despite the media lie that nader cannot get elected, he WOULD be elected. it cant happen until it DOES HAPPEN.

i was going to vote for obama (and settle) i have decided not to. the partisans can scream all they want.

  • That's the right attitude to have dexxjones.

""Never doubt that a small group

    of thoughtful, committed people

can change the world. Indeed, it

is the only thing that ever has."

    Margaret Mead

  • The main point people should know is, the majority of Americans (around 65%) want a single-payer health care system. Both major political parties are against this, telling us something which should be totally obvious - they don't care about what we want, or our health.

  • For anyone judging the video over its sound track, please think about your post prior to posting. Are you looking for sound bites or, a better America? Considering the radical change Nader wishes to put forward for us Americans, the radical music has some common ground here, in my mind. I personally don't like this music either. Regardless of the background music, I LOVE this video! Nader for President!!! The Only Possible Answer to our American Dreams...

  • "are you looking for ound bites or a better Amreica"

Well done for making everyone focus on priorities.

You've just outlined the choices the voters have between Obama and Nader as well.

  • I think the metal music is representing rebellion or revolution because we need to vote third party in order to change our corporate owned government.

But hey it makes it a hell more interesting than regular commercials. It's a head turner, which is probably another reason for the music.

  • This vid is def. not ready for mainstream consumption but hey maybe they planned it for the younger crowd.

  • I want single-payer!

  • Nader is the only one who will make health care affordable for all.

This country is so unhealthy compared to any country with national health care. We have to wake up and take a stand for our Health!

Look how fat everyone is from neglect!

  • I have to agree that this is pretty counterproductive to his message. I have liked some of the other vids, but the metal music really detracts from this vid, and the imagery is scattered and unfocused. Ralph, you are a beacon of HOPE but I really think this video is pretty off-putting to your message.

  • I love Ralph, but these are some of the worst produced videos I've ever seen. Because of the horrible production, these will not convince anyone to vote for Ralph. Unwatchable.

  • C'mon! Spank Sinatra! That's funny!

The stock footage tells the story perfectly.

What do you think the budget was for this? They can't AFFORD the spots the other candidates can.

Send them money; maybe they'll be able to make a video that meets your exacting standards.

  • Money has NOTHING to do with drowning out Ralphs words with awful metal music. How can someone on the fence on voting for Nader take video's like this seriously? Its totally counterproductive. Ralph's words are strong enough to speak for themselves without annoying metal music drowning them out.

  • I think they're trying to reach out to the younger generation and the way to get attention on youtube when you have no media coverage is by bold creative short videos with good punch lines.

The statement "Pay or die" system by Nader to characterise he current heaalthcare system was very effective.

  • Boycott doctors...keep yourself fit and healthy. Sure if you have a crash, you'll need insurance, but stop putting money in Big Pharma's hands with all those prescription drugs and over-the-counter meds. And please, if you're a parent, please don't let your young kids be put on anti-depressants.

Walk everyday you can, eat organic or at least stay out of fast food places and drink a lot of pure clean water.

    Stay Fit!

    Peace!

  • Best video Yet!!!

  • death profiteirs, tough to stop them, they are every where.

  • Since when do doctors profit when someone dies? If someone dies at the hospital, they have to worry about someone filing a malpractice suit. They also lose credibility and business because fewer people go to that hospital.

I'm for free market health care. Neither Nader nor you have persuaded me otherwise.

  • listen moose this statement you've made shows blatant ignorance on your part. There are millions upon millions of cases where the doctor will get MORE money because of lack of care or crappy care they provide. The incentive of the company that employs the doctor is to make money just like any business so the LESS care you give the MORE money you save. Thus in order to look good for the company that pays you you must give less care.

  • A easy documented case of this is when the health ins comp Aetna gives bonuses to doctors who deny the most patients. You are right about the fear doctors have of being sued for malpractice thats why they give good treatment to the RICH ones who would be able to sue them. Thus the rich get the red carpet treatment and the rest of us get tossed the fuck out.

  • Doctors who work for HMOs get paid to deny services to their patients. That's a fact and you can watch Sicko for some personal testimony from former HMO high-ups if you don't believe it. And it's obvious because with a commercial healthcare system, health is not the bottom line.

  • MooseOfNonsence - if your too poor for health insurance, who's your lawyer?

This is a typical "let them eat cake" answer.

Americans need to take back their country. Regulation and strong social infrastructure will give America back to Americans.

  • yes they are

  • I love these Nader videos. They are awesome. I hope America wakes up and realizes they don't have to settle for Obama because they don't want McCain to win. VOTE NADER!

  • i agree.i used to be like that. But when Obama moved to the right in supporting the FISA Bill and opposing single-payer i knew i couldnt take it anymore.

  • So many people I talk to tell me that they would rather vote Obama because they don't want McCain to win. Which is uncalled for! At least McCain, no matter how evil he is, hasn't lied about his views like Obama. Obama has flip flopped on all the important issues that made us like him in the first place. Both major parties are corporate parties. America needs to unite and get the information out there about Nader!

  • "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."

    Margaret Mead

    --------

Never let anyone tell you that a vote for Nader/ Gonzalez on the basis on issues and principles is a wasted vote.

  • It isn't a wasted vote. If Americans stick to their word and vote for whom they say they want to win then we can change this government.

It's funny because most of the important issues Nader supports Obama supported too, until he lied and deceived everyone and changed this position. If he is already lying now imagine what he will do when he is elected. And there is no way in hell Bush's twin (ahem McCain) should get elected unless the American people are mental.
