I was looking at some of these for school and was wondering if u could make a video comparing a samsung galaxy tab, a nook color, and a netbook but i was also thinking about a full blown laptop. I was wondering if you could help me decide. THANKS!!!!!!
@tyronelpz You know I haven't tried a PDF that big before so I couldn't tell you, but I would imagine it would be fine. PDFs where OCR has already been run, I have noticed, tend to run better than PDFs without OCR. PDFs that are bunch of images sometimes seem slow in page turning, but that may just be me.
@tyronelpz the stock pdf viewer on the Nook Color isn't all that great for large pdf's. However, they wisely chose to get the ezPDF app available asap, and it works amazingly well. Android still has a long way to go on catching apple on PDF capability, but that's the only thing my ipod touch can do faster than the nook atm. I do say faster, but not necessarily better, they do look much nicer on the nook after they load. If you've never used an apple device for pdfs you won't care as much.
@djmoney74 Oh no, I am not rich. Everyone in my family (immediate and extended) got one of these devices for Christmas. So I used them when I could to make comparison and reviews. I actually no longer have access to the Galaxy Tab... it was returned.
I'm vascillating between the samsung galaxy tab and the nook color. I've also read that if you root the nook that it voids the warranty. Can you please distinguish the differencesbetween the two as well as point out anything that would be similar.
@jayn804 If you can wait for a month, new Honeycomb (Android 3.0) tabs are coming out and I would highly recommend that. If you have to get something now and f you're not on a budget, go with the Galaxy tab. The Galaxy tab was more responsive and the 3G is nice. While the Nook Color is so cheap and usable as a Tablet, the lack of physical back and menu buttons remind you that your working with a hacked tab. It's not a bad experience, but not as smooth as the Galaxy tab. Hope this helps.
@thefluxlife you should update that with nook color running honeycomb since it doesn't need hard buttons. How was the flash playing shows on websites like fox and cbs? Were you able to play 720p video off a card?

i am thinking the Nook color because of its price tag first of all.
Its like a small book its size right? ipad seems huge compared to Nook.
I will download a custom ROM, thus i supposed it would be much better?
But even without normal Android buttons would it be again an ok experience?
I am getting it to read colored books and magazines. Would this be ok for Nook?
