  • Hey were can i get the tab??pls

  • Is that the ESP X-TONE AC10e? i got the same guitar for xmas, btw thanks for he lesson man :)

  • you mumble to much

  • What do you have your metronome set at may I ask?

  • @mwatland can't remember exactly, but no faster than 96 bpm that's for sure

  • could write the tablature of the part 4:18 to 4:21 please

  • Thanks to your patient teaching, I'm able to catch it. :)

  • Amazing video sir!.. got me feeling all bluesy!

  • thanks ;)

  • Dude can you give me the tabs :)

And great work you made people happy :D

  • learnt the notes to this years ago but never found the right rhythm. Watching this, its just clicked into place. thanks great vid!

  • very nice

  • dude!! this is the most awesomest lesson out there.....checked so many......and I just got it in a few hours.......thanks so much man

  • thank you for this great lesson! My issues were with getting the timing right, and you did a great job of making it crystal clear!

  • yeah that's a great lesson.

  • You are a legend dude!!

Made it look all so simple

    Other vids suck in comparison

    Cheers!

  • @whatsmynamehere thanks man!

  • Can you tell me what scale he is using for these solos? I assumed it was a d minor pentatonic scale, but some of the notes used don't fall into it.

  • @JHahn812 he is using a d minor scale which is just the d minor pentatonic filled in for the missing notes (the second and the sixth). he only uses these two notes (the 2nd and the 6th) a few times though, which is why most of the solo sounds pentatonic, so you werent too far off!

  • @t00manypuppies Awesome, thanks for the info!

  • that was really good man good job XD XD XD XD mission accomplished XD XD XD XD

  • I actually like your emphasis on the downbeats because I also find it important to have proper rhythm. Thanks for the great tutorial.

  • @weksa its all about the rhythm!

  • Thanks for that!

  • I might be wrong here but I think Clapton only does two slides on his solo(0:19-0:23)...nonetheless great lesson. Thanks !

  • keep posting videos like this! great work!!

  • your guitar is amazing, what is it?

  • @heroicham yeah its a cool guitar, the model is ibanez aef30, 2004 model

  • @t00manypuppies Thanks man, I'll definately look in to them, best acoustic guitar I've ever seen!

  • hey man awesome vid

  • thanks heaps mate , by far the best lesson on it , cheers

  • i have to say, this is one of the best tutorials on youtube for this song!

i always knew how to play the notes, but I didn't know how to get my timing right. That was always the hardest part of the solo for me.

This video gets right at the heart why Clapton's solo is so great.

    Thank you!

  • i like the way you explain everything. its very detailed and easy to follow when its explained

  • Great video, helped me alot!

  • Nice work man... sounds great. The feel is solid.

  • @danjagt thanks dude!

  • great tutorial but when u move ur guitar its a bit hard to see

  • @TheLolzin12 heh yeah i agree, i got a little carried away with putting emphasis on the down note - ill try not to move so much on future tutorials ;)

  • dude slow down PLEASE. D: this shit is new to ppl who have never played this song before

  • @skaterboarder4lyfe which part would you like slowed down? i wouldve thought because its a video that you can pause whenever you need to, the speed wouldn't be an issue, but if youre having trouble with a certain section i'd be more than willing to help!

  • @t00manypuppies Hey thanks a lot for the lesson man..!!. was very helpful...for an intermediate guitarist the speed is actually perfect..peace!

  • It's like having a personal guitar teacher! thanks

  • I love YOU :) how long u've been playing ?

  • i love you !:D

  • great tutorial doodson~

  • @JMo5187 thanks bud

  • nice !!!! bu stop move plz !!!

  • heh my bad i was trying to emphasize the downbeats, i can see how it gets annoying after a while. i'll keep that in mind for future tutorials, thanks for the tip. stay cool...

  • jesus slow down

  • hint of sarcasm? ;) or would you actually like a slower tutorial? the good thing about this being a video is that you can pause and rewind whenever you need to, so hopefully that helps. take it easy

  • Bar none the best Layla solo lesson, timing and rythym is so crucial for a song to song as beautiful as intended. And you NAILED it dude. thanks a bunch, good luck on Sultans the second solo is brutal

  • thanks man, glad you liked it. and you're so right on that second solo, it's a real bitch to play right! gonna take some practice before i can get that one up to speed... ;)

  • thank you..

  • you're welcome!

  • great lesson. only started learning guitar 2yrs ago at age 33..! got solo sorted bar a slight timing issue so what tempo is metronome set at when up to full speed.? Thanks

  • i think it was 96 bpm... good luck!

  • well... i started a year and 2 days ago at 13 and i got this up to speed after watching this a couple of times

  • well done....keep it up...only wish i'd started younger..trying to find the time around family and work and trying to absorb and retain information becomes harder as you get older. and you're listening to some cool music at your age.

  • Excellent, Excellent, Excellent. 20 minutes with your vid and I've got it correctly and at speed. Thanks for doing it correctly. On to the 2nd solo now for me :D

  • thanks... you're a fast learner ;) good luck with the second one!

  • Nice video ! Nice job ! Nice lesson!

Helped me a lot ! thx guy!

Try a guitar lesson for mark knopfler solos :p, never found a good lesson for sultans of swing :o

    Thx again ;)

  • see Justin Sandercoe's tutorial for Sultans of Swing.... :)

  • sultans of swing is now on the list... the solos in there are great!

  • hahah in your describtion, tabs show rythm,, tuxguitar even plays the tab out for you :) its a really god programme

  • heh yeah i know there are some programs out there like guitarpro and tuxguitar that give you the rhythm too, but i was referring more to the basic online guitar tab that you can look at w/out any software

  • Dude, that was awesome. Thanks

  • glad it could help. as soon as i get some time i'll post some other vids, there's been some interest in old love and before you accuse me... hopefully i'll get those up soon!

  • Thank you so much. How long did it take you to get perfect?

  • heh i've been playing guitar for a while so after a good hour of paying attention to the rhythm i got the whole solo down - but that's because i didn't have to work on any technical things, just the rhythm!

  • there's a little glitch at 26-27 where the video skips forward about half a beat... makes the solo not sound exactly right, but don't worry - it is :D
