  • don't lick that cadmium, chromium or maganese or it will drop you! if not sooner then later, careful with that stuff! licking brushes is like chewing fingernails but deadlier!

  • Hi Sarah,

There's a well known artist called Diana Armfield,I adore her work.. and she like you would never use black..She consideres that it deadens the look of the painting. p.s. I like your work too.

  • Talented artist and like your Blog too!

  • didnt even realise that I did lick the brush...woops! I make balck with other colours as so far it always results in muddy-ness when I use black from the pan...but maybe I will try it!

  • Beautiful painting! I disagree with you regarding black. I do consider it a color . . . actually, many colors. Everyone has his/her own opinions & ideas.

  • Lovely painting...

I'd also encourage your to find a new way to point your brush by twirling it onto a blotter page. That's what I do... I'm an artist. Many paints are highly toxic.

I think the tradition of artists pointing their brushes with their lips is misguided and needs to be changed... one artist at a time.

    best regards...

  • Very nice painting, but don't lick your brush! You can poison yourself. Many pigments are toxic.

  • Wow! She's really talented! I also love to paint.
