The CTA or should I say the CA Teachers' Union has the worst plan for CA. The CTA plan is to cater to ILLEGALS, forcing the state to hire more teachers so the CTA can get more dues to pay for their huge pension deficit to teachers that are now incompetent. CTA lowers our kid's standards, due to influx of ILLEGALS & not preparing them for college. Most ILLEGALS flunk out of HIGH SCHOOL & do not pay taxes & now the parents that are paying TAXES have their kids flunk out of college! THANKS CTA!

The schools are controlled by teachers unions anyway and need money cut. Its good to lay off more teachers, there are too many bad ones due to the unions. Was this ad meant to make me dislike Meg Whitman?

@arch571332 Do you even know what you are talking about? In reality unions have promoted real reform. Take the CTA for instance. It has pushed for QEIA. Such uninformed and fallacious reasoning as yours and Whitman's are the real reason for the breakdown of education. The people who call the shots are not the experts, yet, since they have the money for it, they propagate such myths as yours over what experts truly have to say.

@vtellez2001 I know from personal experience that teachers unions of caused a decline in good teachers because bad ones are too difficult to fire. Teachers unions have become more of a problem than a solution.

Seriously. As a Moderate, who cares if Art and Music are cut from the curriculum. The world doesn't need more Musicians or Artist. It needs Engineers.

@Rac665 I am an electrical engineer. I wish we had more arts and music. culture is always a good thing. It makes you interesting and balanced. My daughter is doing piano lessons and studying foreign languages but says wants to be a physicist someday day.
