  • Hi,

I know there are other drugs taken to calm down (as sleeping pills) that have the opposite effect on some persons.

Only, we don't know which ones on which persons.

Meaning the working of the brain is far from being understood.

    Best wishes

  • @BEAUDUIN156 please check out Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Median Nerve Stimulation, also Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in concordance with the above, i have an entire playlist dedicated to Electro-Medicine Biological Physics on my sn1pe352 youtube account you can check out

I hope you don't mind me using this video with a different title on zolpidem and its relationship to arousing patients in a vegetative state

Your new friend, please contact me anytime for further assistance

    Nick E

  • I take Zolpidem for sleep but have seen TV programs about its effects on brain damage. If it works all the better!!

  • well i wouldent advice u to give someone with brain damedge some ambien because ive done it and it can make u black out and become on autopilot and when that happends u can kill someone and not know it its kinda dumb of his doctor to give him this if i was his parents i would have socked the doc in the mouth its not a good idea just watch out and be careful like i said a normal person blacks out so brain damedge is gonna make u off balence chemical reaction in the brain flips

  • total rip off, check out my report in ripoffreport and you will read how I lost thousands to these crooks. I even got interviewed by reporters in Germany for my story about X-Cell Center.

  • strange that a sleeping pill helps a person be more active.

more proof that they don't know what the bloody hell these drugs do

incl antidepressants and all the rest psychiatric quackers

  • I've heard about this. I'm so happy your son got a reprieve from his vegetative state. This seems like it needs a lot more research!! Wishing you well

  • This Zolpidem is impressive stuff.

  • your son i thought?

he seemed happy and whatnot to me???

  • he seemed happy to me in the beginning atleast?

  • Who?

  • my mom is in coma for a couple of days now. her heart stopped for 10 mins, but after cpr shes back again. doctors told us that her brains lack of oxygen and she suffers brain damage base on her spasms all the time. shes still unconcious in the icu. is there any reason why doctor shouldnt prescribe this medication for her conditions? any side effects which make her conditions worse than she has now?

  • Zolpidem must be taken when you are in bed and in no other circustance.

If you take zolpiden while you are seat and other people pretend to talk to you it's normal that you react in this way: zolpidem has not been taken in the right way

  • Yeah if you dont wanna get fucked up. I dont go to sleep when I take it because it feels like im wasting it. Its just like getting stoned and sleeping, you just wake up straight so whats the point? I get my moneys worth every time. =)

  • No problem -a book is also being published on the subject. Good luck with your son.

ReGen Therapeutics Plc ('ReGen' or the 'Company') announces that its scientific adviser Dr Ralf Clauss will shortly publish a book on the effects of zolpidem following brain damage.

Entitled 'Hope in Brain Damage' (ISBN 978-0-9559409-0-3), the book is scheduled for publication on 11th January 2009 and is already available to order at large bookstores, including Waterstones, Amazon, Blackwell and WH Smith.

JohnnyFLightMedic...which Uni do you work for?

    All the best

  • A UK based Biotech called Regen Therapeutics has carried out a phase2a trial on Zolpidem in Coma, PVS & stroke. Their address and phone number is below. It may be worth contacting them to get your son in the next trial? I understand Wally Nell advise Regen (the Doctor from South Africa in the BBC programme). My Shocking Story "Coma Miricle on Sky is about this too.

  • Thank you for your contribution. I will contact the company

  • Dear sir, I am quite happy to hear some people such as yourself are actually working on these cases and I wish you all the best with your research. If I could be of any assistance either by information on how our son's situation evolves or otherwise, please let me know.

  • How is this progress going? I am very interested in learning more and conducting research myself.

  • this medication works by activating the GABA receptors but this doesn't explain why and how, a person with an impaired brain due to lack of oxygen is helped by this medication

  • That is the part we are working on. There are alot of x factors to take into account. You must understand that current research shows a direct relation between GABA transmission or lack thereof and brain injury.

  • Please note however, that your replies are not falling on Deaf Ears. I began my study into N-methyl-D-aspartate antagonism, neural plasticity, and zolpidem shortly after losing a friend to brain injury. I am an M.S.N., ACNP with a subspecialty in Traumatic Brain Injury and a B.S. in NeuroScience, and I can tell you that Zolpidem with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation could show to be quite effective in the clinical setting.

  • Zolpidem works by activating GABA receptors. Current research suggests that the use of Zolpidem in the minimally conscious state could raise the GCS of an individual from a 6-7/15 to a 10-15/15, which is a breathtaking improvement.

  • Many thanks for your reaction. Two reflections on this, first I am aghast by the reactions in the medical world on the use of this medication in the case at hand. Most doctors are absolutely ignorant of and refuse to believe the beneficiary consequences of this medicine, even in the neurology departments. At the same time we have had to wait for 12 years before having found something to alleviate the condition of our son.

  • A company called Regen Therapeutics has done trials on Zolpidem and Comas and will be doing another one later this year. Wally Nell is advising Regen.

    All the best

  • I wonder, that Zolpidem takes this effect on him.. other benzodiazepines with a longer half-life-period like diazepam do not?

  • Zolpidem isnt benzodiazepine.

  • Of course it is!

  • Wanna bet? Check wikipedia, lol.

  • No it isnt, wanna bet? Check wikipedia...geez.

  • At least it's a benzodiazepine derivatives that has similar chemical structure like Benzodiazepines got and takes effect on the same GABA receptors with same risk of an addiction. I had to take this for about 2 years so I really dont need wikipedia to learn about it.

  • Oh, ur right :)

  • Zolpidem (Ambien) is a imidazopyridine-hypnotic drug, not a Benzodiazepine.

  • but I guess it's not that hard to get a prescription, for zolpidem, it is today one of the most used medics prescribed for insomnia etc.

  • this needs to be used!!! it has too- wheteher sercretly underground style or exploded throughtout mass media

  • this is why studies needs to be made. people who really need it SHOULD GET IT!

  • Hi EwFreDDe,

Your right. They should make studies about this medicin, but unfortunately no doctor in our country is interested in my brother and the positive effect Zolpidem has on him.

  • have u tried to contact the media ?

  • amazing

  • Doe zo voort broer. Binnenkort terug stappen!
