yes, this is pg, I was there too....is this the concert where he sent autographs out to everyone in line, because we waited all day to get in? Was a photocopy of a photo, he wrote something different on every one of them ..... so cool
ok so me and my friend at the time are the ones who super-8'd this p g performance at the time. so yes it's p g alright. he had a super 8 and i had a super 8 as well. that's why some of the footage looks so different -my super 8 footage was out-of-focus and his was in- focus. thanx laurel for transfering it to tape way back when. also if you see any youtube super 8 footage of either genesis/supertramp/ELP/floyd (all from '77) with the audio overdubs....guilty as charged.... :-/
Peter played 3 nights, April 8-10, 1977. There were 2 shows per night. I went every night. Am surprised at those who question that this is Peter...obviously you missed out!!! Thanks for the memories!
Oh cool. Peter seems to have sung a lot of other's songs on his tours yet never released those covers on records. Well anyway, thanks a lot for responding! :-)
P.S.: I read somewhere that he also used to sing Marvin's "Heard it through the grapevine" in some of his concerts. Do you know if there's a video available somewhere of him singing it?
OMG! So cool. But unfortunatly it stops at the beginning of Waiting for the Big one. I've never heard or seen him perform it live. I would have love to. But anyway, thanks for posting your great videos!

@woofycalling Take it from me; this is Peter Gabriel during a concert in 1977 singing " Moribund The Burgermeister " from his first solo album.

Yes! Tony still had hair 22 years ago!
Brilliant. It took me a minute before I realized I was listening to Moribund.

22 years ago would be 1988. It was long gone by then.

Amazing. That was so LIVE. It's also amazing how Peter looked like a teenager for a while after leaving Genesis. Thanks for posting.

Peter didn't get much of a chance to 'get his funk out' whilst in Genesis. Thank God he left.

Incredible footage. Thank you for sharing!

I Just kinda realised that Genesis ripped off the "laughing" part in Mama from the "I will find out" part in Moribund the Burgermeister...

And uhm..I have a question: Which song is it that he performs from 0:07 to 0:37. I've never heard that one before.

"'Ain't That Peculiar"-- A great old Marvin Gaye song Gabe did on this tour. Check out the original on youtube from 1965.

Peter's early passion - what first got him interested in performing - was 60's black soul. Otis Redding converted him to the Dark Side :)
