  • hmm, judo defeated jui jitsu. But would it beat muai tai? Or other high power striking martial arts?

  • honestly ive watched em all and the fat white doode is SO unathletic

  • @theonlyhoodmunda I think that was deliberate on the part of the producers. Take one who's had at least a little m.a. training and one who's never had it and see how they do.

  • Despite the build-up to the match, Mr Chambers was probably in more danger during the car ride from the airport.

  • May be I missed this. But they didn't mention the Kodokan (the mecca of judo) in this at all....

  • 柔道は、楽しいから、やっています。

  • This episode was just a Bas Rutten highlight reel

  • Judo vs MMA who win?

  • I luv judo just as much as I like bjj awesome!!!!!

  • I love this video and have watched it multiple times

  • many technic in this video i use un aïkido !

  • OK I'm going to sound like a nerd but the show Yawara! brought me here... I have so much respect for this sport ! <3

  • I have been in judo for 2 years and loving it

  • We need new top comments, my friend, Samurais are really awesome.. they have their own secret skills that aren't meant to be seen; only skilleds are. So, umm, please stop turning martial arts into sports! WHO EVER YOU ARE!

  • The samurai at the beggining: "HAY! FUCK YOU, SWORD!"

  • MY GOSH, we need some new top comments on this video.... taco

  • Japanese Jujitsu. The REAL Jujitsu!

  • @Machampion100 Thank you! Too bad everyone believes BJJ is the dominant force

  • I used to be awesome in judo... then I took an arrow to the knee....

  • @TheNarutoCrusader How'd that happen? And, ouch!!

  • @AmericanSamurai100 LOL no it didn't really happen, u see it alot in youtube,.the game "skyrim" has guards that always say "I used to be an adventurer like you.... then I took an arrow to the knee"

  • @TheNarutoCrusader oh, hahaha!!

  • Fuck, is this an amazing show or what?

  • My only prob with this is around 3:30, when they say samurai were just thugs starting out. Thats not true. They were basically royal guards (Hate ta go geek, but think of Palpatines Red Gaurds in Star Wars) Samurai literlly means servant, or "those who serve." otherwise, great vid! Human weapon rules!!

  • @AmericanSamurai100 Samurai were originally farm owners...

  • @worrmiesroo Nope. They were gaurds. Highly trained guards for the emperor. But, somewhere along the way, they learned that they had more political power than the Emperor. Thus the shogun was made, eventualy. I don't know where you heard that, but its not true. There's a bunch of Doc. you can watch about them. one is Samurai: The Last Warrior. Now, if we were talking about shinobi, then you'd be right, depending on the clan.

  • @AmericanSamurai100 well then, screw my social studies class.

  • @worrmiesroo Well, honestly, halph the stuff they teach in school is either wrong now (Speaking about science, mainly) or is useless in the real world. And, if I may ask, what grade are you in? Another Doc, to try out is the History Channel one.

  • @AmericanSamurai100 That contradicts itself. They were "royal guards" but called themselves Samurai, which supposedly means "servant." Does that make any sense?

  • @SilentFool602 Yes, actualy, it does. What do gaurds do? they serve! How? They serve by protecting their lord. There's more than one way to serve.

  • a rather elegant martial art. I like it

  • @Wouldntyou98 It's very good to practice. I've been doing it for sometime now & I love it. Plus it goes good w/ my Jiu-Jitsu training

  • @Wouldntyou98 Elegant...is not a word I'd use as a Judoka. I'd call it intelligent, rough, or chaotic. That's what makes it effective, though. It's not about the demonstration, it's about the execution.

  • Just grab gi and try to throw him. Very elegant.

  • bjj is all newaza of judo, what misinformation

  • @teslic100 1 agree brother!!

  • @teslic100 Yes, but they are saying JAPANESE JIU-JUTSU. Which led to Judo and BJJ. Don't tell me you don't know the difference

  • i can already tell before watching the big guy is going to get destroyed by sweeps

  • Bill looks like my dad when he was wearing a hakama that was too short. Good times

  • @thatbigblueboxthing you consider starring at men and analyzing their gears a good time? what are you a fruiter? HAHA..just kidding..GOOD TIMES..lol

  • Damn I hate that anti-techno bitch in these commercials. a TV in the Jon removes intense boredom.

  • Judo iis just bada...oh hey this guy likes being mormon! commercials...meh -.-

  • 4 people tapped out.

  • 43:48 OWNAGE

  • Why is it that many guys who practice martial arts put tape on their feet and hands?

  • 7:51 haha, Don't worry, you will. 9:28 That's pretty impressive. 15:17 That was awsome. 16:12 ouch, I wonder what happened to the ones that lived. 17:30-17:33 hahahaha 43:59 Not very surprising, His opponent is such a pro that even the teachers respected him.
  • This is the gayest this I've ever said but Jason Chambers is a beautiful man.

  • I LOVE HOW IN EVERY 1 OF THESE VIDEOS THE PPL THEY FIGHT/PRACTICE AGAINST DON'T EVEN TRY AND GET DOMINATED, WONDER HOW MUCH THEY GET PAID 2 LET THE AMERICAN DUDES WIN

  • @bobbygoo9 only one won ever on the show so thats BS

  • The police moves demonstrated from 21:20 to 22:03 look more like Aikido than Judo.

  • @Dinoenthusiastguy Remember, both Aikido & Judo came from various styles of Japanese Ju-Jitsu. Also, many techniques are cross shared in Aikido & Judo ... even wrist locks (for Judo).

  • @pcjudosambo True, but Judo's emphasis is not on joint locks. They are used sometimes, but not nearly as much as in Aikido or even Jiu Jitsu.

  • @Dinoenthusiastguy that's incorrect. 50 percent of Judo is ground work and other 50 percent is standing work. Judo's goal is to win by a throw, choke, arm bar or a pin. It even states this in this video. Google Judo Ne-Waza to learn more about Judo ground grappling. Also, Wiki Judo to see that BJJ was born from Judo, which has joint locks, chokes, etc.

  • @pcjudosambo sorry, you may be right im not an expert or anything, but im pretty sure that Brazilian JiuJitsu was born from japeneese jiu jitsu, and was made popular by the gracie family, and judo was also born from Jiu Jitsu. Again, not tryin to be a jerk, but im pretty sure this is correct. (judo is better than jiu jitsu) :)

  • @TheBeardedDragon15 You're very close in your facts. Yes, Judo was born from Japanese Ju-Jitsu, that's 100% correct and you're right. But, BJJ was born from Judo, which was already a modified version of Japanese Ju-Jitsu. So in a way, yes, BJJ was born from Japanese Ju-Jitsu (through Judo). Because the reason it's called BJJ is because when Maeda came to Brazil, Judo was not known as Judo, it was known as Kano Jiu-Jitsu hence the reason they kept Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

  • @pcjudosambo Ok cool thanks! Learned something new today thanks for the info!

  • @TheBeardedDragon15 Judo guy vs BJJ guy w/ Judo rules = Judo > BJJ; Judo guy vs BJJ guy w/ BJJ rules = Judo < BJJ. The rule set largely determines the outcome.

  • @friesenmp yes but bjj is very similar to judo in ground fighting for 50% of it ground fighting is judo and theother half jujuitsu ground fight style,i have seen video where judo beaten bjj fighter with bjj rules

  • @Dinoenthusiastguy I wish people would stop calling it "Jiu Jitsu." Not many people seem to know that "Jitsu" is a term that actually means "full" or "excess" in Japanese Shiatsu medicine. "Jutsu" is the correct word for "art" or "study." And "Ju"(pronounced "Juu") is actually the verb "to yield," hence, "the art of yielding" and "the way of yielding."(Judo)

  • @44excalibur Sorry, I just got it mixed up with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

  • @Dinoenthusiastguy Nahh, it's okay. The Brazilians still use a much older romanization, but it's not accurate spelling. "Jiu" doesn't mean anything, and even if they used "Ju Jitsu," that word would translate to "gentle fullness" or "soft excess." lol

  • @44excalibur Maybe they were referring to a mattress that was too big or something, ha ha. Do you speak Japanese?

  • @Dinoenthusiastguy LOL No, I studied some massage therapy. Kyo and Jitsu are terms used in Japanese Shiatsu. Kyo means hollow, and is a lack of energy in a tsubos, or trigger point on the body. Jitsu is a fullness of energy in that area.

  • @Dinoenthusiastguy Aikido actually has some Judo roots.

  • Jason got his ass handed.

  • You seriously made an entire episode about Judo, and you DIDNT visit the Kodokan???

  • @MW9000cows What is it? :?

  • @NodDisciple1 The school that Kano (the founder of Judo) started to teach the techniques. It is the center of the universe for judo.

  • @allentate Oh. Yeah, that is a big goof on their part. Is it true Kano was killed by other Japanese because he taught white ppl? :?

  • @NodDisciple1 I've never heard that. He died at sea. Some reports claim pneumonia, others kidney stones that caused complications. There are even allegations of poisoning, but not for teaching white people. They allege that it was because he spoke out against Japanese militarism (he wanted the 1940 Olympics to be in Japan).

    No idea if that's true.

  • @MW9000cows i know what is that about man? thats like spending billions of dollars on building a house, but not saving any to buy the land plot.

  • @MW9000cows from what i understand the Kodokan is very specific in who trains there.

  • @MW9000cows Inoue-san, and Yamashita-san are both from tokai university.. so this is geared towards more for sport than kodokan which is more traditional- teaching oriented

  • @RangerSuper012 ratings

  • lol there opening drills bill knew they meant buisness army crawls kartwheels and passing guard i do that in my wrestling practice not saying they arent hard but bill realy over exagerated

  • dude, if you're in a bad neighborhood no martial arts will work, homies will just shoot you.lololol

  • @891trigfoot You need to watch equalibrium

  • @mrorville1

i can Eliminate the arts that are NOT useful in a real fight in a bad neighborhood; Taekwondo, kickboxing, boxing, karate, muay thai,MMA. any Jujitsu or varieties.

Aikido and Krav Maga are the two most useful i would say in any real life situation.

  • I love Judo and I'm a BJJ guy. I train a little bit of both add in some wrestling and bam, a complete grappler!!!

  • Jason tried an illegal throw at 26:54. It just shows they don't really understand judo or any of the rules or principles.

  • @TenteixSaigo You're ignorant. He's a mixed martial arts fighter, he's studied many different types of martial arts. When he's in a fight and different moves are being thrown towards him at a very quick pace it's extremely difficult for one to just forget all prior training they've had, save only Judo training, and not execute moves which have become instinct to them. He made a mistake based off his knowledge of various fighting styles. It has no reflection on his understanding.

  • @jskennedy19 Kani Basami is illegal in everything except sambo, and it's not trained and executed in mma. Jason has almost no real sambo training, either.

  • Comment removed

  • The fight at the end wasn't even fair. The Japanese guy has an insane weight advantage.

  • @Shorty20122012 I throw people bigger than me all the time. Jason just didn't know how do any of the basic throws or counters. Drop seoi nagi would have been very useful, so would O ichi or Ko ichi gari.

  • the blue slim guy is really bad at judo... its judo not acrobatics...

  • they should put up hapkido and train with the korean army. it would be more intense

  • this show is cancelled jeez.

  • @BitingCatProductions shows on history channel, NET GEO, Discovery & military channel most of time only last 3 seasons at most... sadly....

  • @choyleefutkid1 wait i can tell is that an insult or what?

  • rather than take a dance around Japan for "secrets" .. they would have been better served matching Bill with Kosei Inoue and Jonathan with Koga. That would have made the final match less embarrassing. But of course, this show is more about showcasing the history (as well) - not focusing on the final match.

  • @choyleefutkid1 ... Judo is a sport, just like MMA. ... Stop crying, queer.

  • i hate the fact that this show got cancelled

  • @NiNj4zB3K1ll1n !$^%$#sghS THE FUCK?!!! WHY DID I GET CANCELLED D:

  • @NiNj4zB3K1ll1n WHY WHY WHY?

  • @NiNj4zB3K1ll1n Yea, Better then any dojo in the Lax-Ass america. Mom: Im sue'n you for letting my sun get hurt in your dojo! And liek that, The only place to get combat training in america is the army or drug dealers.

  • @NiNj4zB3K1ll1n Despite its pros, it needed to. These guys are horrible hosts!

  • I hate how the football is an arrogant penis dandruff inhaler but it is still cool yeah

  • When he started doing rubber guard shit the dude was like wtf :P

  • They should do fencing and kendo if they bring this show back. I'd love to see some tai chi and qinna.

  • @TenteixSaigo amen

  • Commercials detract from this topic. Kitty litter advert comes up I try to close it but instead close the judo. Arrgghhh!

  • Isnt it pronounced jimay

  • Judo all the way this video is wat inspired me to join judo i used to do taekwondo and in my opinion judo is way better

  • i cant take bill duff seriously, he reminds me of a jacked bald seth rogen...

  • @brothersbbp plus the show isnt coming back. so they might as well

  • They should done one for tai chi haha

  • Martial Arts I wish they would put on the show:

    1. Aikido

    2. Jeet Kune Do

    3. Wing Chun

    4. Jiu Jitsu

    5. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ)

    6. Hapkido

    7. Vajra Mukti

For future reference, this is probably one of my favorite show's on T.V.

  • @TrippyTheShroom i have been looking to see aikido on here for a while. im starting to think ill never see it..... :(

  • @aikidostudent1 I wish they would...its one of the most interesting martial arts in the world...

  • @TrippyTheShroom

it was an art created by a samurai, but didnt get its name until the 1940s, because thats when they felt the art was comeplete.

  • @aikidostudent1 Yea, it was actually a branch off of Ninjutsu i believe, then Ninjutsu was broken down into multiple other arts, like Judo, Aikido, Kung Fu.

  • @TrippyTheShroom actaully what happends is ninjtsu is not a martial art. rather the combatives used in ninjutsu beside all the aother desguise explosves evading info gathering spying stuff, was just local popular and well know Ryus or combat styles combined to that the iga samurais who were also ninjas had a combative skill to rely on it was taijutsu jiujitsu koppojitsu(joint lock like chinese chin na) and battojutsu swordmenship

  • @kaindrg Yea, I'm basic in all the Aikido history, I just know the essentials to get by lol

  • @TrippyTheShroom there also the misconception the ninjas were farmers. the fact taht so many ninjas has last names which before the modern era startgin from 1700 no commoner had in any culture except chinese and even then chines last name designated clan origin and regional origin not familial. Only nobles like knight kings and samurai hand last names and many of them famous samurais were recorded ti be masters fof espionage

  • @kaindrg

Only I can say is you need to read books written by professors.

There wasn't clear border between samurai and farmers during sengoku period.

  • @BuffonMusa any recomendations? books lectures? also miss ur vids then again u dont really have a reason to make them since greg isnt as cunty now a days

  • @kaindrg

I am not sure English sources.

My recommendations are professor Fujiki Hisashi and Arai Takashige for the field.

  • @BuffonMusa good to know thanks

  • @TrippyTheShroom i like your username :)

  • @Thecardboardcow lol thanks

  • @aikidostudent1 no its never some philisophical as ppl claim it was because jiujitsu to the meiji japan felt it was prehistoric and barbaric. so kano decided to simplfy it for sportt uses as combat uses was in the view of the time obsolete he just did that how jiutsu and do speach to make it sound better that to say jiujitsu has no bearing to in todays society so lets to turn it into competative throw wrestling

  • @kaindrg its very useful! ive had to use it many of time! Martial arts = interesting.

  • they have a kung fu episode that shows wing chun briefly.

  • @TrippyTheShroom If they keep this show going (are they?) they should definetly do Aikido, Jujitsu, and hapkido. They did Wing Chun on their Kung Fu episode. Jeet Kune Do would be cool, but I've got no experience there. I'm not sure what Vajra Mukti is... I'll look that up in a min.

  • @TrippyTheShroom They've done Wing Chun and BJJ. I think you can find clips of it on YouTube.

  • @TrippyTheShroom most of those are on fight quest which has a similar premise to this show. Hope this helps.

  • @TrippyTheShroom i actually no jkd,im best in my class:)

  • @TrippyTheShroom some of those were featured on fight quest, which was the show i preferred

  • @TrippyTheShroom i kinda wanted to see an episode on kajukenbo....anyone else agree?

  • @TrippyTheShroom: Yeah, I wish they did an Aikido episode too, but unfortunately this show was cancelled!

BUT there is another show that aired a few years ago called "Deadly Arts" and they had a full episode about Aikido. I can't find it anywhere though...

  • @TrippyTheShroom I would also like to see Shuai Jiao and Sanda as their own specials. I mean they've done two martial arts in Japan (Judo & Ninjitsu) so I don't see why they can't go back to China and separate them into their own respectful categories instead of just the broad term Kung Fu?

  • @TrippyTheShroom They did BJJ, Wing Chun and Hapkido on Fight Quest, which is pretty much the same show.

  • @TrippyTheShroom Wing Chun was shown in the Kung Fu episode since that's technically what it is and since it's also one of the bases of Jeet kun do they sort of covered it.

  • @TrippyTheShroom ya except they almost always let the host win even when they clearly lose.. otherwise its ok

  • @TrippyTheShroom

I think they do have wing chun

  • @TrippyTheShroom fight quest has wing chun, jiu jitsu and hapkido, they cannot put aikido in this show because it is not a competitive martial art its just for self defense

  • @Qbanmeromero97 But ninjjutsu is not a competative art either its for self defense, so is the USMCMAP and Krav Maga

  • @TrippyTheShroom and choy li fut kung fu

  • @TrippyTheShroom fight quest did a hapkido episode, check it out man its on youtube =)

  • @TrippyTheShroom They cant do aikido cause they dont do sparring which is what the final fight is

  • @jacksoncole79 yeah but remember the nnjustu one they made up a version

  • @jacksoncole79 ...bill/jason could just attack one, just because they can't spare doesn't mean they can't defend themselves...well, very well...

  • @TrippyTheShroom BJJ is bauss

  • @TrippyTheShroom and shuai jiao which is older then kalaripayattu therefore making it the oldest martial arts not india..and plus ssomeone gotta fix the idiot who posrt a vid pankration with the title as oringalmartial arts there at least 5 martial arts not lost that is found in the world that older then pankration 2 of them is already listed kalaripayattu and shuai jiao..

  • @TrippyTheShroom Wing Chun and Jiu Jitsu were partially covered in the Kung Fu and Judo episodes respectively. As for the rest, I agree. It's a real shame this show was cancelled. I like these more than Fight Quest.

  • Comment removed

  • @footbal72 im not trying to say that korea is the best... i just know that one of the most famous judo masters of the world is in korea... japan is still very much respected and probably the best at judo.. i was just making a small joke...

  • I love Judo, and I miss doing it, but I no longer have access to it. SIGH.

  • @IMBW89 Then train by yourself. I myself have no way of learning Muay Thai where I live, but I've taken it upon myself to train in it despite that. Even with work, college, paying bills, and messing with room-mates I still train, and plain on traveling with a Taekwondo user friend of mine to Thailand in the up coming summer. We plan on traveling the globe to train in some of the most brutle conditions. One goal is in our minds, to better ourselves, and prove the true strength of Martial Arts.

  • Thumbs up if they should do an episode on jeet kun do

  • so judo is jiujitsu nut simpler hmmmmmmm lol

  • if that was me id get my ass kicked

  • lol they should have gone to korea to learn judo, KOREA! KOREA! bejing olympics bitch!

  • @samcho24 Korea had 1 judo gold in 2008 japan had 4 gold in 2008 olympics for judo

  • OMG Was that NigaHiga at 2:17?

  • wow read the description, its so true about this video and extremely relevant!

  • @TerryNoah46 if so than say bjj because there is an actuall style called jiu jitsu not brazillian jujitsu..just sayin plus there are already millions of ppl talkin bout bjj already just type it in lol

  • @TerryNoah46 japanese jiujitsu or bjj?

  • FUCK YOU ADS!!!!

  • will judo work in a street fight without a gi?

  • @jacksoncole79 Do people wear shirts?

  • Wow errors BJJ is Judo derived, not Traditional Jujutsu derived. Judo was still called "jiu-jutsu" at the time and especially within Brazil that lingered through the 40s and the BJJ or Gracie Jiu-Jutsu name stuck.

  • This is the most professionaly done Martial Arts vid I have seen yet. Thank you for it. Osss!

  • I love Samurais!
