  • Thank you. I do a lot of rock hopping, surf casting and some skishing. I wonder how well would the torque take the abuse of being dunked and scraped against rocks. Does Penn offer some sort of warranty or servicing program?

  • @gigi0812 We do. The reel is covered under a 1 year warranty which details can be found on our website. Surf casters journal did a review of the Torque at which can be found on our YouTube channel under our favorites

  • Hi, I'm thinking about getting the bailess Penn for stripers here in long island, new York . I own a few Zeebaas and VS reels and I would like to get your opinion on witch torque would be more appropriate for a St. Croix Mojo 10.6- 3/4 to 4 Oz. Thx

  • @gigi0812 Thanks for the question. You'll probably want the small Torque 5 if you're fishing plugs and casting often. But the 7 will also work if you prefer more line capacity. You might also want to look at our Legion series of rods to pair it up with the 15-30lb mono in 7'0 and 7'6". These just hit the market and have been very well received by anglers fishing them.

  • which touque whould you recomend for on

  • @tonyel120 It looks like your message was cut off. What species, location and technique are you using? That will help us provide a recommendation.

  • @PENNfishing which torque whould you use for tarpon

  • @tonyel120 You could use any size (5,7 or 9) depending on the technique but a good all around size is the 7.

  • damn that is a sexy reel

  • is this lighter then a van staal?

  • @djlyric The Torque is just a bit heavier because we put larger gears for added strength and a powerful HT-100 Versa-Drag system.

  • When will the Penn Torque bail-less versions be available?

  • @MassFisher The bailless models should be available sometime in July 2011.

  • thats what i thought,i was thinking about buying one

  • what about the bailess one,how do you cast it???....or you have to buy the bail set???

  • @broxcen909 There are actually bailless models, it is not a kit that is sold separately. You cast by holding the line on your index finger just like a regular spinning reel. Then feed the line on to the arm when you are ready to retrieve.

  • It sure is. The manual bail trip was designed to eliminate the bail closing and breaking the bait off while casting.

  • looks like a good surf reel
