The show is shown in January. The auditions are held August/September. It is your age at the time of the audition that counts. I checked and Bo Bice was born in November, so his 29th birthday was after the auditions.
Such a strong song demands the purity and power of your perfect pitch to shine.
In my humble opinion, the echo/reverb softens/covers/hides your vocals. I think that amount of effect is better suited to someone who can't really sing---a talent you posess in abundance.
Listen to Streisand's studio work compared to, say, Madonna and you hear the difference. The former is a singer(power), the latter a performance artist(echo).

I love Ysabella's singing, however she chooses to present it. I can not criticize this gift she shares with us. I'm here to enjoy, not to analyze. Besides, how can you compare her sound quality to anyone's studio work? A digital camera with pin hole mike, Youtube compression, self recorded in her living room against the resources of a studio with best sound equipment. A day will come when we will hear true depth & beauty of her voice. On that day, I will rejoice.
It's really all in the context used. True sex and sexiness is a natural and essential part of life. I have trouble with the term "sexy", especially as a stand alone compliment, because it shows an inability or unwillingness to describe someone much beyond what ones hormones dictate. I find that to be pretty shallow, immature and not very complimentary.

Yeah, you gotta know that she gets those kind of lines and has to deal with them all the time. I've seen it spoil many women, but not MaryAnne. Her attactiveness goes so far beyond her pleasing face. I clicked on "more" under the "About this video" and Violah! The Lyrics! You record a lot of videos! Do you have to work or are you "well off"? Where do you find the time? Do you read music? while under canopy as a skydiver, I played in cloud once. When I came out of the bottom, a hawk and a guy in a glider were circling up to meet me...on that day I felt truly blessed, if just for the moment. This is what I see in this video.

The cutoff age for American Idol is 27. So, she couldn't try out if she wanted to. Personally, I don't believe American Idol is for her. She's far too creative and talented. The folks at AI are much too controlling and the winner's contract amounts to professional slavery.

The age limit was 26. It was raised to 27. I they then raised it to no older than 28. Have no idea who Maurulis is. But, he was probably 28 when he auditioned. Still think it would be a backward step for Ysabella. She's much too good for American Idol.

no he was 29 and i'm pretty sure that Bo Bice was too. i remember b/c the judges emphasized that they just made the cut off. maybe the rules were changed for 2008, idk.

The show is shown in January. The auditions are held August/September. It is your age at the time of the audition that counts. I checked and Bo Bice was born in November, so his 29th birthday was after the auditions.

Such a strong song demands the purity and power of your perfect pitch to shine.
In my humble opinion, the echo/reverb softens/covers/hides your vocals. I think that amount of effect is better suited to someone who can't really sing---a talent you posess in abundance.
Listen to Streisand's studio work compared to, say, Madonna and you hear the difference. The former is a singer(power), the latter a performance artist(echo).
You, m'lady, and your singing sparkle...let it shine!

I love Ysabella's singing, however she chooses to present it. I can not criticize this gift she shares with us. I'm here to enjoy, not to analyze. Besides, how can you compare her sound quality to anyone's studio work? A digital camera with pin hole mike, Youtube compression, self recorded in her living room against the resources of a studio with best sound equipment. A day will come when we will hear true depth & beauty of her voice. On that day, I will rejoice.

It's really all in the context used. True sex and sexiness is a natural and essential part of life. I have trouble with the term "sexy", especially as a stand alone compliment, because it shows an inability or unwillingness to describe someone much beyond what ones hormones dictate. I find that to be pretty shallow, immature and not very complimentary.

Yeah, you gotta know that she gets those kind of lines and has to deal with them all the time. I've seen it spoil many women, but not MaryAnne. Her attactiveness goes so far beyond her pleasing face. The person under that alluring face is what I love, open hearted, kind, sharing, intelligent and by the grace of God talented. Equating that kind of wholesome beauty with "sexy" fails for me because I consider that label derogatory and demeaning, I would never put her down like that.
