I like the way that the confidence and aggression of this performance counters the lyric. Perhaps with your melodic arpeggios under the line about fighting as a bridge type bit? And maybe as an intro. Nice song m8. Interesting to see two totally different deliveries! ;)

Simon, I've listened to both versions now back to back and I perfectly understand your dilemma, because both versions are brilliant!!! Great chord progression/melody. Your strumming/fingerpicking is immaculate and very musical. But I find the slower fingerpicked version is more suitable for the melody and lyrics and to me is more powerful. Also, your fingerpicked chords sound more unique than the strummed ones. Make watercolour an A-side, acrylic a b-side. :D

This one has that 12/8 feel and is dynamic, but the guitar is maybe overpowering the voice a little (but a mic could even that out). Usually people like peppier tempos best so this one might be more commercial.

Both versions are great fab sensitive lyrics and depends on the time of day . This one is a bit more catchy though. Sorry that was no help at all!!!
