  • Mike Meyer wrote a book about this historical fact. If you are interested look for it in your library.

  • THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank you for giving Ronald Reagan the credit he deserves. The man hd a great spirt. In some way he was connected to God. By God I do not mean that which is learned or memorized or repted mindlessly from the bible. By god I mean an internal knowing, an intuition of sorts. He had a good soul, a noble soul, and because of this his words had such power that his mere words brought down this wall, ths awful system. It melted before the truth, the spirit tht was behind his words.

  • Sooner or later, we China will be the Berlin Wall collapsed. And will certainly collapse

  • up with germany NOT lol

  • indeed they do bro.

  • bullshit

  • what is?

  • what? david hasseloff singing?

  • 3 words..."GROUP HUG EVERYONE"

  • i was ten or eleven years old, when i first was in western Berlin (from western Germany). And i was seventeen years old, when The Wall fell. I´ve seen it on TV.

The reunion of Germany was heart touching. - Like getting from darkness to the brightest Day. :)

  • You will be free don`t give up. I wish it to you and your people. Go on fighting for it!!!

  • Ich bin ein berlinner.

  • My grandmother was divided by the wall from her 3 sisters. She died in 1988 and never lived to see the reunion of Germany. Our family never really reunited. I don't even know if her sisters still live or what happened to them.

  • Shit, that´s really sad... My father´s family was divided when war broke out between Finland and the Soviet Union during WWII. He was just 4 years old when he had to leave his parents and move to Sweden.

  • bullshit

  • Who are you?!

  • Biassssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.

  • Thx! This was interesting! I was a child of the Cold War. It was a part of my life from age 10 to adulthood, When I saw this unfolding on live TV I couldn't believe it!. I knew it was history in the making. I was shocked and so happy for the East and West Germany. A great day!

  • great video! the first of many I've seen about the fall of the berlin wall who also adress the challenges of unification

  • That is so true - people will always be people

  • communism itself is not a flawed ideology it is just that men themselves are flawed and will grab riches and seek power rather than give people the equality which communism is supposed to

  • I had a four day pass and went to Paris. The day i arrived in Paris they showed them knocking the wall down on the news. It was GREAT knowing that Communism proved to be worthless from within.

  • Soviet Union was too blame, there would have been no East Germany without the threat of Soviet intervention

  • What an amazing intellectual argument!!! The truth hurts. They built a wall to keep their citizens imprisonned. It showed how terrible the Soviet influence on Eastern Europe was

  • He might not've had an intellectual argument, but neither do you. Put down your bias history book, and start readin a plethora of books that exist out there, written by independent people, who put the USSR in a lot of fault, but the US in more. Why? Personal opinion? No, through facts, supported by extensive evidence.

  • So Germany was just a nation to be argued over between the USA and USSR. So, the German nation did not matter to you at all!! The poor people trapped behind a shitty wall

  • The wall was built in 1961 and came down in 1989 so it was 28 years not 26.

  • the wall stood there in 28 years two mouths and 9 days.

  • bullshit

  • "After 26 years of division"? It was from 1961 to 1989!

And Günter Schabowski was not the propaganda minister, he was head of the SED party in East Berlin

  • I was in the navy on a ship when i heard the news. Victory against the cummunists is what i thought. We had won against the russains. We knew it was all over for the USSR. It was a great feeling.

  • Moving Video... i was 14 Years old when it happens and my Stepdad is from East-Germany.... it still touches me ....

  • Can't even imagine what it felt to be from Berlin at this time!

  • you were blewn away....the 2 weeks after the opening were a lot of parties everyweher in berlin.... private parties with strangers from east-berlin.... totally amazing...

  • Thanks for posting wonderful video. I am living in a place where protestant movement against GDR was started.
