The military commission act deals with enemy combatants and has nothing to do with American citizens, who are the only ones covered under the Constitution, and you can't provide one example of wire tapping being used illegally. That still requires a warrant signed by a judge needing probable cause.

While I think the Government as a whole was panicked after 911 and thats why this PA got pushed through it's not Bush's burden to bare by himself. Everybody was scared and everybody voted for it. There are many people in America who stand for "human rights" involving abortion & same sex marriage, yet view themselves as "Christian." My point is, only God can read the heart, & we ALL shall stand before his seat of judgement. Therefore, if Obama wants to view himself as Christian, that is his right.

What's not correct about my facts the fact that we were in afghanistan then did a 180 and switched to iraq because Bush was incompetent and had theories of weapons of mass destruction which by the way were never found and how coincidental that the economy crashes during the last few months of his 2nd term maybe it's because he knew about it and did nothing to stop it from happening so don't ever compare Obama to Bush.

By "stay the same", I believe you mean a constitutional republic. The definition of a constitutional government is a limited government, which is what conservatives want to bring America back to. A large government is what liberals/socialists/communists/fascist want to bring about. So, yes, in that case, conservatives are against changing the ideas that make America what America is. Look at the votes for the bail-out package. Guess who voted for it? Democrats. Guess who voted against it? Republicans. I don't believe Republican exemplifies conservative per se, but at least they know the best way to not "screw" the middle class is not create a debt of $400,000 per person because of pointless spending.
