Great video. It just needs to re re-recorded with better special effects and makeup and a few better angles. The Zombie would be much more effective in creating tension if he in fact looked like a zombie. If the Zombie was actually scary looking, then we would have much more resolution and relief at the end of the commercial which will result in a lot more laughing at the ridiculousness of the entire scenario. Awesome CONCEPT. You guys deserve what you won.

I think it's well made and awesome quality; remember, this is an amateur contest made by Canadian students aged 16 and older. They are using basic cameras and home editing systems. Factoring this in, I'd say (and I am sure many others would agree) that this movie is far more than an 'awesome concept'.

PS- This contest is for commercials on TV stations open to viewers of all ages; is it necessarily a good idea to have content that is not appropriate for all viewers? (ie: children)

The balance between the horror elements and the general appeal was a line we straddled pretty carefully. We pretty quickly decided on "tame" monsters, choosing to try and emphasize the horror elements from a sylistic perspective (music, camera work etc.) We actually went to a professional make up shop, where they taught us how to make the most gruesome and disgusting zombies possible and, let me tell you, it took a lot of self restraint on our part to not go "all out" with them.
