I tried to duplicate what is shown in this video, using Adobe Illustrator and some PDF files made from documents that I have scanned that have not been tampered with. Guess what I found using Adobe Illustrator? Layers. I would say that anyone claiming that the birth certificate is faked/forged would need far more compelling "evidence" than finding layers in a PDF file created by scanning an image. If only the author of this video had taken the time to perform such an easy experiment...

Everything you see in this doc is the result of optimization software run against the file to reduce the size of the document and enhance the contrast. One big key is notice that whenever a line overlaps a character, then that character gets the grayscale treatment whereas every character not overlapped by a line is solid black pixels. Too simplistic to think someone is going to forge this yet be too stupid to flatten the layers prior to posting.

Well, our scanner is left in OCR mode and that is why it was put in layers. Your scanner may not have that feature as it is a high end feature. All I'm saying is that since the author of this video pointed out this layering and has shown where the scanner tried to distinguish different types, it is good evidence that the BC is real. If it had been scanned with OCR off then there wouldn't be any layering and it would be easy to challenge. Believe me, I would like it to be fake but experts say no.
@eddyquick You are correct. Making a PDF a certain way creates grouped elements. Notice how in the video he uncollapses a "single" grouped layer to individual elements of the OCR'd document. The argument in the video is not correct. The video producer here doesn't know enough about scanning and PDF's to make the arguments he makes. The video is incorrect.
The easiest thing to see is that the copied portion of the birth certificate on the left side bends (as where the page bends) whereas the green backing page is straight. The black lines curve, the green pattern doesn't. It could simply be that the scanned document was superimposed on the green backing to give it a more "official" look. Unfortunately, once they started making it look more real, they provide even more reason for doubt. Providing an altered document was not smart.

@The1stWarning Just take a look at the layers ... notice that when the layer under the signature is reviled it is exactly the same as the layer above except for the color. That what the OCR does. That in fact is the best evidence that it is not forged.
@eddyquick oh please, the document has some letters in grey scale 256 and others in black and white. it isn't possible to have both on a single scanned document without editing. this is a clear forgery and anyone who can think for themselves can see it.
@chris11sholtz Actually you are wrong. With OCR it will try to locate searchable text. To do that it will narrow down on light and dark. That is why part of the signature is on one layer and other parts are on a different layer. If you notice, the area under the signature is white and matches exactly with the signture. That is where the OCR has pulled out information for analysis. If it were forged you would see the old signature as white, not the new one. Again, evidence that it is real.

Arpaio's team tested this theory over and over again, establishing empirically that optimization was never applied to the original pdf file, and of course the question would be: Why would it have been applied? What would be the purpose? We are talking about an email of a scan of a doc., or a fax and then a scan. Why optimize that? It's obvious that it wouldn't have been done, wasn't done, and Obama is a fraud.

Characters that have a line crossing over them (and, occasionally, the last character in a sequence) are grayscaled and characters that don't are all black pixels. You can also just take a step back and think "if a fraud on this scale would be attempted, would you really fail to FLATTEN all the layers prior to posting the frauded doc??". Basic logic.

Scan your own birth certificate or any document, open Acrobat and use the optimize scan feature with default settings, and you will get the exact same layered result you can see in this video. It would be dwarfed by many large modern commercial ships from Panamax and larger container vessels to tankers to air craft carriers. It was too small for it's supposed purpose but still far too large to be built by a small group of people. I tried to duplicate what is shown in this video, using Adobe Illustrator and some PDF files made from documents that I have scanned that have not been tampered with. Guess what I found using Adobe Illustrator? Layers. I would say that anyone claiming that the birth certificate is faked/forged would need far more compelling "evidence" than finding layers in a PDF file created by scanning an image. If only the author of this video had taken the time to perform such an easy experiment...

Everything you see in this doc is the result of optimization software run against the file to reduce the size of the document and enhance the contrast. One big key is notice that whenever a line overlaps a character, then that character gets the grayscale treatment whereas every character not overlapped by a line is solid black pixels. Too simplistic to think someone is going to forge this yet be too stupid to flatten the layers prior to posting.

Well, our scanner is left in OCR mode and that is why it was put in layers. Your scanner may not have that feature as it is a high end feature. All I'm saying is that since the author of this video pointed out this layering and has shown where the scanner tried to distinguish different types, it is good evidence that the BC is real. If it had been scanned with OCR off then there wouldn't be any layering and it would be easy to challenge. Believe me, I would like it to be fake but experts say no.

The easiest thing to see is that the copied portion of the birth certificate on the left side bends (as where the page bends) whereas the green backing page is straight. The black lines curve, the green pattern doesn't. It could simply be that the scanned document was superimposed on the green backing to give it a more "official" look. Unfortunately, once they started making it look more real, they provide even more reason for doubt. Providing an altered document was not smart.

@chris11sholtz Actually you are wrong. With OCR it will try to locate searchable text. To do that it will narrow down on light and dark. That is why part of the signature is on one layer and other parts are on a different layer. If you notice, the area under the signature is white and matches exactly with the signture. That is where the OCR has pulled out information for analysis. If it were forged you would see the old signature as white, not the new one. Again, evidence that it is real.

Arpaio's team tested this theory over and over again, establishing empirically that optimization was never applied to the original pdf file, and of course the question would be: Why would it have been applied? What would be the purpose? We are talking about an email of a scan of a doc., or a fax and then a scan. Why optimize that? It's obvious that it wouldn't have been done, wasn't done, and Obama is a fraud.

@zonkster909 The "purpose" was to reduce the doc's download size and increase contrast. The layers were caused by optimization software. Characters that have a line crossing over them (and, occasionally, the last character in a sequence) are grayscaled and characters that don't are all black pixels. You can also just take a step back and think "if a fraud on this scale would be attempted, would you really fail to FLATTEN all the layers prior to posting the frauded doc??". Basic logic.

"Why the fuck are there layers on his Birth Certificate"? I did this in Computer Graphics (we use illustrator) and I had the same results. Multiple layers and clean signatures with no pixelation. Almost as if the signature was done with VECTOR!! That's impossible unless it was drawn in.

@mistercoors The bible isn't a history book. Using the bible to prove things have or havent happened in history is simply ridiculous given that the bible is not meant to be a history book. Im not an atheist for the same reason im not a theist. There is no way of being able to prove or disprove god. Since god is not proven and their is no valid evidence for god then it would be foolish to believe in christianity. Your arguments are lame and typical.

@mistercoors The Bible IS a compilation of myth, legend, parables, teachings, collective wisdom, letters, etc. etc. assembled by men who were "inspired" by God. It was not meant to take literally rather to learn from and live moral lives. Thats it! It was written by relatively uneducated men thousands of years ago who didn't know the earth was round or flat.

@qualityrkc Actually if you knew anything then you would know the Bible is one of the most historically sound documents we have to date. It has been more rgiorously tested then any other ancient manuscripta(including anything Homer). Now this doesn't in and of itself prove the claims of Christianity. No Shit. But it does give firm credence account of historical events. Historically and sceintifically speaking there is ablolutely NOTHING false in the Bible. That you can prove anyway..

Most Hebrew scholars will confirm that a cubit is about 18 in. Distance from your elbow to the tips of your finger. In feet the total cubic volume would have 1,518,000 cubic feet; equal to the volum of 569 modern railroad stock cars stacked. Also Noah didn't take all speceies of living creature.

Wrong. 150' * 75' * 45' = 506,250 cubic feet. Only 33.3% the size you claim. That also assumes 100% usable space which would not even be close to reality. It's a fairy tale.

@qualityrkc dinosaurs and elephants, most likely the young ones were loaded not the fully grown ones. Also one thing important to keep in mind is that the ark was not a woden ship. It was a floating shelter. Also fossils are ONLY found in sedimentary rocks. You know what that means smart guy? That means that something like a flood put them all there.

@kronosx7 The make believe ark was not bigger than any modern ship. It would be dwarfed by many large modern commercial ships from Panamax and larger container vessels to tankers to air craft carriers. It was too small for it's supposed purpose but still far too large to be built by a small group of people. They wouldn't have even been able to produce or obtain the finished building materials much less actually build the damn thing. It was also not "several hundred years ago".

@Betwixttheairitself At 506,250 total cubic feet (using your specs from the other post minus your incorrect total for volume) Noah's Ark would be a very small ship by modern standards. It would not take 2 of every land dwelling species + provisions for them. Add to that the logistical difficulty (more like absolute impossibility) of a common person such as Noah in his time even acquiring 2 of every species from all four corners of the globe and it's a fairy tale.

@steve001968 I don't know where you learned how to do simple multiplication but let me show you the right way: According to Genesis the length of the ark was 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 high. Multiply that by 18 inches OR 1.5 feet and you will get how long it was in feet. Follow? Then we multiply all those Biiggg numbers together. The product comes to 1,518,750 cubic feet. This is plennnty of space. Double check your calculations next time. Oh and if you had read earlier
