  • I have the Fuzz Face. It's pretty good. Sounds good on bass.

  • Please tell me who does your hair......so i can go somewhere else.

  • It's a poor digital imitation of a real fuzz. Crap.

  • You play rock, metal, stoner rock, stoner metal, acid metal, Black Sabbath, stoner death metal, stoner doom metal, stoner stoner metal, acid psychedelic trip stoner metal - YOU NAME IT!

  • i like your style of lead. how did u learn to play like that? ear? lessons?

  • cool. good editing.

  • Does anyone know if you can use this pedal on bass guitar? I'm looking for a great fuzz pedal and this one really catches my eye. Any advice? Much appreciated. :)

  • @MrJamesDicko YES! I've tried it, sounds awesome, won't sound thin like a bigmuff

  • Hell yes. I'll looking forward to buying that pedal. Doom on!

  • Thanks a lot for the review, I'm buying this one.

  • Hey stoner dude! ........whats stoner rock? I thought it was just ROCK!

  • You name it! stoner rock, stoner metal, stoner reggae, stoner blues, stoner jazz, stoner ska, stoner techno, that simple!!

  • Cool Playing

    Cool Demo

    Fucking awesome hahaha

  • how the hell do you play a guitar like that ?? high strings on the top ?? hahhahaha

  • Forever Stoner !!!

    Cheers from Brazil !!!

  • You should learn some Hendrix and and some blues or what not, It takes much more skill to play Hendrix then any stoner band. Fuzz was made for Acid Rock!

  • Good Fuzz pedals: Fuzz Factory, Hoof, Fuzz Face, Blackout Effectors Twosome Fuzz, and the Big Muff.

  • dude when i saw i thought that will be another noob video

    but you did well

    peace

  • what you guys prefer the big muff or this¿

  • @songokusss

muff is awesome but not for all styles

the boss fuzz has much more sounds

but using a muff is much cooler i think:]

  • @songokusss

    It sounds far better

  • Hey man if you ever get a chance on getting the now discontinued Zoom Ultra-Fuzz(UF-01) you should pick it up.By far the best one that I have tried and own.Love you guy's,gotta go,it's my turn at the bong.

  • Great review too much talking though(grrr!!!) but he isn't teasing us with micro perceptible amounts of fuzz he's showing what the pedal actually does! As for Stoner Metal? I know exactly what he means and so do you! C'mon he's a young guy playing DOOM that should be celebrated! What a cool kid!

  • @TheGubernot Hahaha, thanks bro!

  • Hey...Thanks a lot, this video helped me so fuckin much, thousand times more than any of those "pro-reviewers". Finally someone actually playing music that is supposed to be played by the pedal, not some fuckin idontknowwhat...Plus - I definitely like you overall approach...(hehe, and especially the "Hendrix" string order ;-) ) and all...DOOM ON, BROTHER!

  • This guy isnt a stoner.

  • @ShytFerBraynes glad there's one who thinks that

  • @otusqueeky1 hey us long haired people that look like stoners but arent gotta stick together! well, i kinda cut my hair a week ago... =(

  • How do you play upside down?

  • @Tfr3sh17 By playing upside down.

  • @otusqueeky1 That may have been the most informative message I have read in the last week. Dick.

  • @Tfr3sh17 I just can't answer that question any better. How do you play guitar when it's not upside down?

  • @otusqueeky1 Well obviously if you are playing it upside down, the opposite way of playing for a standard player, you are aware of the standard way of playing guitar. EADGBE going closest to farthest away from the player. So when I ask you a question, instead of being a stuck up cunt face, answer it without making an attempt to impress your youtube audience.

  • @Tfr3sh17 Why would I try to impress my audience by giving you an answer like that? It was a fairly simple answer and didn't seem very harsh of a comment to begin with.

I started playing upside down for no reason really, I never knew or thought of playing "the right way" and these days it wouldn't make any sense if I did. So how do I play upside down?... I don't know.. just by playing upside down and figuring things out... There you go. Same exact answer.. "By playing upside down".

  • @otusqueeky1 "Just the way I learned" would have been sufficient.

  • the palm muting didnt sound bad to me.

  • @dirtyboy601 Not bad, but not distortion chunky.

  • are you playing upside down?

  • @hlwbnz Yes

  • I love your face emotion 5:40 to 5:55

  • you can do everything with this: stoner rock, stoner metal, stoner stoner stoner stoner stoner stonerstoner stoner stonerstoner stoner stonerstoner stoner stonerstoner stoner stonerstoner stoner stonerstoner stoner stonerstoner stoner stoner

  • Actually if you use the fuzz pedal along with distortion you can get some great black metal tones. Its probably not what they intended when making the pedal but if you have it through the right settings it sounds good playing black metal.

But you're right about the palm muting thing, this pedal sucks playing death/thrash metal, anyways, great review, much better than those annoying people doing their official demonstrations for their companies.

  • @1337fum1n Yeah I can imagine, haha! These days I plug in the fuzzie while I've got some mild overdrive going on.

    and Thanks!

  • is that an Iceman with some H.R. Giger artwork on it?

Also, what Fuzz would you recommend? This, The Devi Ever Hyperion or the Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker?

  • @HitmanJenkins1 Yeah it is!

Dude, I'd go for the damn Big Muff Pi with the Tone Wicker definetly. I was planning on getting it, but then I found the zVez Fuzz Factory.

  • do you think it's good for playing grand funk railroad?

  • @Alvaro1762 No clue man.

  • I like how you're entertaining but good at guitar

  • @StaticRequiem Thanks!

  • One of the most educated videos I saw on youtube. Usually their filled with idiots who like saying their better than each other. Anyways, I'm looking to get a fuzz pedal, not even sure what I'm getting yet. I was thinking about a FuzzGod by Red Witch, love Red Witch pedals, or a Zvex seeing as it seems everyone loves them. Good video man.

  • @plaguex1 Thanks! I own a zVex Fuzz Factory. Best damn fuzzie I've tried.

  • Hey,your a lefty

  • I think Fuzz sounds the best with single coils, try it with a strat or tele or p90 pickups.

  • good review...and another lefty too...like me...:)

  • why do u call it a stoner band rofl

  • @TandBcomedycreators Because "stoner rock" is a genre.

  • Kickass review mate, I'll certainly look into this one. Really trying to get that Electric Wizard doom feel.

  • habla mucho. al grano!!!

  • Look on the manual, youll see a little sticker. There it says what F, M & O means :).

  • @Smielle1 Yeah Fuzzface, Maestro and Octavio are the settings. I made an updated review on this pedal recently

  • hey mate, how old are you? youre really quite informative. :)

  • @sniperspikes I'm 16 right now. 17 in a few months, haha. Thanks!

  • I think it sounds great when playing leads with the fuzz pedal even with the iceman.

  • F, M, O center selector control on the FZ-5:

    F = Fuzz Face pedal

    M = Maestro pedal

    O = Octavia pedal

  • Eeehhh... Why would you want a Les Paul over that Ibanez? Les Paul has the itty bitty frets and the chunkier feel.

  • @Foxx36 What are you talking about? Have you ever tried a Les Paul standard? The neck is amazing, unlike an Ibanez with its thin toy-like neck. It's so much easier to bend and vibrate notes on a Les Paul. A Les Paul just feels and sounds so god damn rich. But in the end it's all about taste. Ibanez is mostly for metal use and the Les Paul suits best for rock, blues and so forth.

  • @otusqueeky1 I'm not contesting that it has a distinct tone, but to me, the neck just ruins every Gibson I pick up. The Ibanez Wizard II neck is the fastest neck I've ever played, whereas the Gibson's smaller scale (I have long fingers), plus the higher action (on most Gibson's I've played) makes it awkward for me to play.

  • @Foxx36 I don't shred or play fast. I focus on touch, feel, emotion and vibrato. Taking it slow, and focus more on one note instead of playing notes fast. This could simply be called "Taste and style". I've always liked higher action, smaller scale and thick strings.

  • @otusqueeky1 I see. I don't really shred that much either. The way I see it, whether you're playing fast or not, it's just easier to play, and slow music isn't the only kind with emotion.

Wanna get rid of that Iceman then? :v That's always been one of my most coveted axes.

  • @Foxx36 Yeah there is a lot of emotion in fast playing too, I agree.

And no, haha. I still find the Iceman nostalgic, since I used to be a big System Of A Down fan back in the day. Even though, I perfer Gibsons or Fender guitars, the Iceman ain't shit. It's got a good neck, but bending's always been a bitch on it.

  • alice in chains - died

would sound cool on that pedal i think >;o)

  • I like your playing kid. You take me back in my younger guitar playing days in the 70s during my Black Sabbath era. Great riffs!! Glad the young ones are discovering good music from the past.

  • @gmlasam Probly cuz of the weed man!!!!

  • @gmlasam Thanks a lot man! And yeah must be the weed, haha

  • What would be the optimal off-brand Les Paul type guitar that isn't going to break my balls financially?

  • @MarshallRoberts Tokai Les Pauls or Epiphone Les Pauls at the 600 buck range. You could also get a Gibson Les Paul Faded for 800-900 bucks.

  • @otusqueeky1 A dude at a music store recently told me how a lot of the cheaper Gibson's were getting shipped out damaged or fucked in some way, shape, or form, so I've become skeptical of cheaper Gibsons.

  • @MarshallRoberts My Gibson Les Paul Faded has been in good condition for a good 4 years now. I like its neck more than a 2000 dollar Les Paul Standard. I'd be more concerned about something that's not Gibson.

Gibson Les Pauls have often had a problem with the headstock snapping... Happens often with pricey ones too.

  • @otusqueeky1 Most of the Gibsons I've tried at stores seem fine. No dents or problems with the inputs etc. I'm very picky when it comes to technical or dent problems.

  • @otusqueeky1 Well he said it was mostly guitars from the past 4 to 5 years that weren't great, because they used to be handmade, but now a days they just pump them out of factories and ship them off to Guitar Centers and shit.

  • @MarshallRoberts That sucks... I guess I got mine on the right time. Go with a Tokai Les Paul then. They have great necks.

  • @otusqueeky1 Sounds good. Would you recommend this pedal over a Big Muff? The jew in me is saying I should just get a Mini Big Muff, but I'm not sure yet. I already have a Metal Muff, which I dig for Thrash metal and the like, so I'm set there. But I need something that produces some really heavy dirges of sound.

  • @MarshallRoberts I've compared the Mini Muff and the FZ-5 so many times and I still don't know which I like more... The Muff has a muddier sound and the Fz-5 has more of a fuzzier fuzz. I think you should get the Big Muff Wicker. Check that off youtube. An amazing pedal.

  • @otusqueeky1 I've seen it a few times and it looks pretty hot and sexy. I'll have to check it out in person sometime, though.

  • @MarshallRoberts Do it. Worth every penny. I've heard of other amazing fuzzies but they're always so damn rare.

  • Hey, do you own any actual left handed guitars? Or do you just turn right handed ones the other way?

  • No I don't. I wish to get a lefty Les Paul Standard Honey Burst strung the righty way.

  • Hi; I´m just going to buy this pedal. Un video cojonudo ;) Thanks guy!

  • stoner metal, stoner rock, you name it. LOL

  • Haha, I know I know. Check out my re-review of this. Just uploaded it.

  • hey really helpful dude and cool playing. can you play deftones will this pedal or not really?

  • Deftones?... dude I have no idea. Haven't heard much of em to be honest.

  • Dude, what tuning are you using in this video? Dumb question, but is your guitar strung backwards? (Low to High instead of High to Low)

  • DADGBE. It's a righty flipped backwards

  • What tuning do you play in?

  • @Wannabenorsk DADGBE

  • Nice vid man. Gonna get one of those. Started a stoner rock band the other day and this seem to be the sound Im looking for. :)

  • @Emilzor92 Cool dude! I'm sure you can get better ones for the price, since this fuzz is digital. I don't really care since I'm still diggin' this pedal!

  • masta shredda!!!!.. cool demo man. but personally i think the "way huge swollen pickle" is the best fuzz pedal i ever owned i can punch my self in the face 4 sellin it!!!.. keep your eye out for 1 and when you see it play it!!!

  • @SouthernDoom666 Yeah that's an amazing pedal man. Very versetile. It's a must try. I own a fuzz factory, but I can already tell from the Way Huge Swollen Pickle demos that it may be WAY better.

  • Also what amp settings are you using?

  • Hmm... I was using my crappy Ibanez amp on this demo. Hard to remember the settings. A lot of middle and bass. Treble half way up.

  • Haha and gotta get better at playing guitar, i hear ya man

  • make that 2000 euro..sorry.. anyway...you're a funny dude. very comical in your delivery. You can play well too, especially for playing upside down...

  • @ first I thought you said get a 2000 year old les paul...

    then I realised you said 200 euro..lol

  • dig your demo, thx I'm trying to get my hands on this pedal

  • Oh cool dude

  • Wow dude that's awesome! I've never seen anyone that can play lefty on a righty guitar WITHOUT inverted strings! Keep it up!

  • Nice sound, man. Hard to find videos of people playing what I want to hear on these pedal demos. Enjoyed your commentary too.

  • What kind of guitar did you use first looks like an Ibanez? I have this pedal and my tone sounds nothing like yours its still good but not like yours. Mabye its my shitty amp.

  • Ibanez Iceman HR Giger yeah.

I was using a shitty amp myself, but it took a long time to get a good tone out of it.

  • ur left handed?

  • yeah obviously. Guitar's a righty too

  • damn it i need buy this pedal lol

  • Which pedal is better this or the jimi hendrix octavio? I'm trying to pick out of the two.

  • Jimi octavio? No idea dude. If you were to chose between this and a Jimi Hendrix fuzzface, I'd get the Jimi one.

  • I want this pedal to do wolfmother covers so bad.

  • lol you can do anything, stoner rock, stoner metal.

  • Hahaha, you can do more than that obviously. Hendrix, hard rock in general since it works like an overdrive too. It's not too rough on the lead playing.

  • How did you get into Lords of the North, dude? Didn't know they were big outside of the US...

  • That was a long time ago... I think all I did was search "stoner rock" on youtube.

  • good demo. i find your impressions funny, but good job :D

  • thanks man!

  • Good video - nice job. You should try an old Boss FZ-2 sometime, it is the pedal Jus used on the Dopethrone record. I have one, just sick. I'll also back using Orange amps, I play an Orange Rockerverb 100, just a sick amp. Being in Europe, you should look at Matamp, specifically the GTL. By the way, I have friends with Electric Amps, sound great over a year to get them once ordered and way over priced. Brian H. - Orthodox Fuzz

  • Man that pedal is so rare dude. A rockerverb 100 is sick, my bro has one. I actually like my Orange AD-30 HTC better because it really handles fuzz well.

Don't Matamp Greens still break very easily? Electric Green amps don't break as easily as Matamps, but they still break quickly as fuck. Wish I had the money for one though. The tone on Sleep's Dopesmoker/Jerusalem is just mind blowing.

  • The FZ-2 isn't that rare in the US. I don't use any fuzz boxes anymore, prefer an amps natural distortion. I often double my Orange with a Sunn Beta Lead. Matamps (pre 2000) & early Electrics had some issues but those were resolved by the manufacturers. The other guitarist in my band plays a 1998 Matamp GTO 120 Black that has been updated and is the best sounding amp I've ever heard, period. A GT1 is on my list for next year. Check out our tones (we play Gibson as well) myspace - orthodoxfuzz

  • Yeah I agree. I'd rather use the drive my Orange has, but for a boost I'd use a fuzz box. I'd love to try a matamp.

  • Btw I checked out your band. GREAT!

  • dude, when you busted out dopethrone, you sold me on this pedal, no shit.

  • Hahaha, thanks a lot man! It's a great pedal although it's digital.

  • Well they're pretty rare in scandinavia at least. I know one store in Finland with a small selection of them. I ordered mine from thomann. de

  • Oh yeah dude it's amazing! Vox amps are great too. I've tried a few

  • Cool dude. I actually got myself a pretty pricey Orange... haha

  • i want to be friends with this kid. We would smoke weed and play Bongzilla all day long

  • Haha, yeah dude!

  • yeah dude me too hahahaha

  • Old tube PA's go for dirt. Fuzz pedals are about as basic as electronics get. So if you want to build something, that's a good place to start. You'll want to order your transistors though.

  • Yeah I'd love to try building a fuzz pedal. Any instructions anywhere?

  • You are a talented dude.......

Thanks for the demo. That really helped.

  • this kid's pretty awesome. kids don't come like this anymore

  • have you tried big muff? i'm not too familiar with stoner rock, but i love the 60s fuzz sound. it is like screaming trees or smashing pumpkins. i used to have a small tube blues combo amp that was made by a local guy. i used to have a strat and a duosonic but i mostly use telecaster now....

  • i thought the palm mute sounded great

  • We need more demos like this on Youtube...

    great vid.

  • lol this guy over explains everything in the funniest way.

awesome vid man, wish i had that tone.

  • Awesome video, thanks, i got the exact same pedal, saving up money for a Fender fm212r amp now..

  • Great demo, articulate with good song choices.

    The kids are alright!

  • FZ-5 seems like an ok practice pedal but I wouldnt play out live with it. Nice demo!

  • dude you play your guitar upside down?! thats narley,

dont you find that hard though?

  • Are you serious?

    I hope you are,lol, he's a lefty.

  • It looks to me like he has the Low E on the bottom though and his high E on the top so I'm pretty sure he is playing upside down.

  • Hmm, Now that you mention it, it looks like he just flips it around.

    Sorry for the unnecessary douchebagery.

  • god bless you for not wanking around on hendrix solos like every other pedal review. it's good to hear the words "stoner" and "doom" on a pedal demo.

  • The F setting stands for "Fuzz Face", M for Maestro. So this thing is supposed to be able to model Hendrixy sounds. Sounds great. Entertaining video. Thanks.

  • awesome vid!!! i live in america, so i don't know if it's any help but the peavey windsor studio amp is a tube amp, only 20 watts, and its only $400, only thing is im not sure if they sell it international, :( i've also heard a lot of good things about orange, im pretty sure thats what angus young used though im not sure, so yeah awesome vid and keep on rockin!

  • nice review, but your comment about tube amps was a bit overshot!

my marshall tube amp (el84 20/20) is a 20watt stereo power amp which i use with the marshall tube jmp-1.. together they cost me £400, which i think is what you would pay for a decent solid state, but its much nicer! theyre rack mounted amplifiers though, which might put some people off. however, the amp has 4 channels which can be saved in 100 patches, so theres loads of flexability ;D

love fuzz, the more fuzz the better :)

  • Oh wow that's nice! Damn dude! I got myself an Orange AD-30HTC recently. I won't tell you the price because I know that you'd kill me for telling you xD

And yeah fuzz pedals kick ass :D Got myself a Zvex Fuzz factory too. Isn't that what Muse uses?

  • orange - awesome. yeah, the fuzz factory is the pedal associated with muse... plug in baby eeeowowowowow noise :P

  • Yeah hahaha! I use my fuzz pedal to get a more crunch into my sound. Love it : D

  • where are you from it sounds like you got mixed accents. it sounds like a bit off aussie accent in there lol its sick

  • What are you using for an amp?

  • Can you play stoner blues with it?

  • Comment removed

  • Behringer sucks...in a sense...they breakdown a lot, (they are cheap/low priced for a reason), and also, they are bad electronics.

  • this pedal is digital

  • Actually...I never said it wasn't digital. But, actually, its better than stupid cheap pedals, because it uses something called "COSM Modeling", (look it up), and it uses digital electronics to make any type of sound you want, right down to the original sound.

  • c'mon, that green behringer (i think it was a dist) was cool. Was only 30 bucks, and has good enough to compete with the others dist pedals..

But, i think, just that can do it xD

  • Haha, ya, I guess so. Haha. xD.

    Happy Playing!

  • du är svensk ?...aja fuck it

Your playing a fucking right handed guitar and it is'nt re-stringed to left....

  • yeah wtf?!!

  • Whoah, man, were you playing a right-handed guitar left-handed?

    I'm astounded. Good review, too.

  • word thats unusual lol

  • how does this compare to the fz-2?

  • first i am a lefty to although i ve got a lefty les paul.secondly i am really into stoner and hard rock of 60s 70s 80s .does this petal worth its money for things like these?

  • Nice review and nice taste in music. But this pedal ain't good :P

  • Gotta admit, it ain't the best out there. There are a lot better ones. The best fuzz you can get is from a good old tube amp with a lot of overdrive or then the fuzz factory pedal. I also LOVE the angry fuzz pedal.

  • Awesome review man, I'm definately gonna get one.

It's damn weird seeing people play like that though, Dan Swano does it but I'm used to him playing like that hahah.

  • I have the same model that Electric Wizard uses. It's my most valuable possession.

  • what is it?

  • Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz

  • Boss FZ-5 Fuzz Pedal. The last guy said FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz, and he obviously knows nothing about guitar, because the FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz is a discontinued Boss Fuzz Pedal.

  • well she might have got it when it wasnt discontinued, just because its not in production doesnt mean she doesnt have that one
