It's an offence under the "Terrorism Act" it is illegal to photograph or film a policeman, and people can be prosecuted in many public places for filming without permission - despite many places being already on google streetview!!

Basically the law works that we can be filmed over 300 times everyday, but we are not allowed to film. Crime hasn't decreased either!

I see CCTV's as a way to help police services --and I stressed "services". CCTV's with strong privacy and above all, oversight is vital. Where I live, CCTV's were installed by security (not police) without the proper procedures and guarantees in place or provincial guidelines followed.
