Im in the SWP. I think we have to take a firmer stance on the war. I do not support these rebels, the same way i did not support the US backed Taliban (muha jadeen in Iraq). The rebels do not represent the poor people of libya, they support they are acting in the interests of the west. There is also an Al quieda presence within the rebels, which i find unbeleivable for the west to ignore.
The people of Libya don't have time for the Hampstead Amateur Diplomatic Society to play your games. Crawl back into your book-lined studies and let real people run the real world. You and the rest of the fundamentalist pacifist wing are of no moral or political relevance, as your lack of basic humanity shows.
While they supplied arms to Rwanda to both sides 1 million people brutally died but nobody really gave a toss to intervene there, guess there wasn't anything but bones for the vultures there. The vultures in Libya see lots of meat on the bones. But they are both African countries.
@yington I'm sure you can do your own research? Try going to the 'Counterfire' site and search for 'Syria'. German is linked to that group: Oh and listen to Galloway's latest radio pronouncements. He points out the wrongs of the Syrian regime, if you took the time to listen, but I suspect that closed mind of yours is not really that interested?
@yington Galloway from an article on arabianbusiness site: "Syria is the shoe which didn’t drop. And I have a theory for that. The Syrian regime is authoritarian, no doubt, freedoms personal and political, are, of course, scant, it is a one party state, and the father in this case successfully handed over power to the son. So on one level it is a candidate [for an uprising]." Counterfire has a statement by the committee for supporting the Syrian Intifada against mass arrests and repression.

The Amnesty Report on Libyan War Crimes. Read and weep Lindsey. If you still can.

Legalistic, self-righteous, murderous time-wasting.

I wonder what she will say about the Syrian protests? Nothing?
Guess that's like George Galloway then.

@yington Strawman arguments really don't cut it.

Can you point me to what she and George Galloway have said about the Syrian protests?

Counterfire - nothing there.
Galloway's radio? Nothing there either , and he has none right now as he is campaigning for the Scottish Elections.
Closed minded? Really?
Have you actually listened to what Galloway has said about Syria in the past? Please Youtube "Galloway" and "Syria".
Oh, and I would truly love to know where Galloway has pointed out the "wrongs of the Syrian regime"?
Where?
Look forward to some basis for your strawman, that's for sure.

Youtube - "Galloway" and "Syria", and see what he said about the Syrian regime, on TV, to everyone.
What do you think about that?

@Audiocodes
And what has Galloway said about Syria, on his own, since the riots began?
You've seen how he's been all over Bahrain, Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, etc - you couldn't shut him up.
Where's his speeches on Syria, where is his outright support for the protesters?
Is it just a coincidence, that he, like Press Tv, is remarkably silent on the Syrian Protests?
It should surprise - in 2005, Galloway slobbered all over the Syrian regime, as you can see on Youtube.
