ACORN was put out of business by a complete fake. The so called news programs just ran the video without checking it, or perhaps they knew it was a fake and went with it anyway. In either case, now that the method has been used once successfully, we can expect more of it. Nobody is safe from this sort of thing in the current climate.

By clever editing of some video a case of "I'll see your BS and raise you a few" is turned into comments that look like they may be true. In another case he edited discussions of housing into being help with prostitution.
The state of California obtained the unedited tapes when they started a criminal case against ACORN. The raw tapes turned out to be very different from the edited versions.

OK, I watched the video. The ACORN video did show some employees have poor judgement. Some of them are certifiably crazy. But, if employees do something wrong, you fire them. Don't shut down the entire organization unless there is rampant corruption.
That being said, I don't need Jerry Brown, Arnold, or Bill O' to tell me what the video shows. It's not false or a lie, it's a video. The Rodney King video IMO showed assault by the cops. I didn't need any help to come to that conclusion either.
