it's worth a few bucks, but nothing to really jump up and down about - about $20 US if it's in pretty good condition. there were a lot of copies of it, it was kind of a crossover reggae/pop record for Holt and not really rare.
some of the original Studio One and Treasure Isle singles can get pricy, though.
A sound that you wont get from a cd...our generation were so lucky to grow up with this music.I fill sorry for the youth of today coz they dont know what they are missing.
I was always told that the middles out of records were taken out for jukebox purposes - then the records were resold after for less - absolutely awesome tune though!
@raykiller545 they called technics they look like 1210's which are the best turntables you can get for DJing and for a pair they worth about £1400 depending on where you get them lol
this guy has pure talent born with a gift his music has cheered me up 4 over 27 yrs big up and max respect j h seen him 3 times live what an artist a must see god bless all
I saw John Holt in England perform on state with the British Royal Harmonic Orchestera da I was in a tuxedo. He performed this song, Stoned Outta my mind, and a few other classics. He ain't perform police in helicopta :p
John Holt makes da I a born American proud to have Jamaican Pay - Rents.

@Reggae45s Parents had vinyls....still do after 20yrs...used to play them on the weekends. Loved my 'roots&kulchah' from when I was a kid in the 80's/90's!!!
This has to be one of my favourite, if not, my all time favourite John holt song...I remember dancing to this song when i was a little girl with my dad. He used to play it every night. Thanks for posting this and bringing back those memories : )
hen thought the middles of the records came out, but didnt they just used to make em that way? i have records like that and it doesnt seem like anything came out of the middle..
@thepandadan All of the 7 inch records that were distributed to Jamaica did not have the centers in them for some reason...unlike the7 inchers in europe.
@Reggae45s Even Technics 1210s made in the last five years came with a chunky aluminium disc on a stem which was part of the platter for placing on the spindle of the turntable. Many European 7"s came with either no middle or a flimsy little plastic weave thing for the same purpose that always got lost. So you needed the metal doodad. You know that though man. Thanks for the tune - great to hear it again.
@aDuffPaddy I lived back then, 45's are what you refer to, the middle was NOT there, on purpose, it was just a "single" w/a flip-side on it, the albums had a tiny hole & was "33 & a third" (331/3 rpm) before that, were very thick records called 78's (78rpm's), which were thicker and more brittle than the newer lp's (long-playing albums). The plastic thingy was for cheaper record players that didn't have a built-in record holder or a large cylinder that you placed onto the record player.
@Richardyboy Yes, for collectors and owners of good victrolas...always a buyer for EVERYTHING...one man's junk is another man's treasure. Bless up. Kitty
@aDuffPaddy The Oldies 45's Often Came From Pub & Cafe Jukeboxes, which required the middles to be removed from them to work as the positioning mechanism on the turntable was not very accurate , I worked for a jukebox company for some years, in them days you could get a machine which punched out the middles
My parents in the front room, wid dem friends with the Long Life beer, Carlsberg, Cherry B and Babycham, and Tree top Orange as a mixer lol lol lol Curry mutton rice and peas, And dad beconking ""come and dance wid your farder" Total shame 1978 lol lol
