1. if people never died, there would be no incentive to do anything with your life. Steve Jobs taught us this.
2. Don't blame it on developing nations (pls don't use third world, we are all on one planet and one people) because if everyone lived like we do in the developed nations, we would be in an even bigger mess. We would need three times the resources that we have on this earth, essentially, we would need three earths to support the amount of consumption if everyone lived like us
@TheLCusi :( What are you talking about with incentive? That's absolutely ridiculous. The reason why we get things done is because we will die? That's absolutely absurd. And "first world" and "third world" are widely used words and used everywhere so no I won't stop using them. What are you, the moral police? So according to you, people should continue to die or they won't get anything done and not consume the whole world.
@Xiquid "people should continue to die or they won't get anything done and not consume the whole world."
...precisely.
death is life's greatest creation. remembering you are going to die is the best way to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.
furthermore, i cannot FATHOM how many times more resources it would take to sustain an extra 100 000 people every day. 3 times our current available resources is what i believe to be a a conservative estimate.
@TheLCusi Really??? Life is a bit more complex then what you are saying. Population rates (if you take basic algebra and economics) are much more complicated than you assume. It's not as heavy as a bell curve as you might think. There are populations going down in western society. What we have is a problem with OIL and COAL. That's a finite resource, we need renewable energy resources instead. "Consumerism" lays at the crux of the problem more then population density.
@TheLCusi you're sounding an awful lot like a troll. I start to actually back up what I say with reason, and your stance continues to look more heartless for your fellow human being. It's like you're looking for death. It's more crazy then it is sound reason. Already Aubrey DeGrey is right at 9:47, your no exception to this.
@Xiquid No I don't. Republicans could care less if people are taken care of.. where as I do. They also, as a rule, don''t believe overpopulation is a problem.
