  • This trailer reminds me of the trailer for "Alien," especially the text and the siren-like sound at the very end. The music at the beginning reminds me of the beginning of the song "Get it Faster" by Jimmy Eat World, strangely enough.

  • I'm the guy at 1:25

  • You can actually get this game now on GOG.com

  • :32 is a cool scene... reminded me of an old Godzilla movie or something.

  • This trailer is so epic.

  • I watch this everytime I reinstall Fallout. Thanks for uploading it

  • This was the same trailer I had on my Baldur's Gate 1 CD, it blew my mind.

  • Best Game made by Black Isle Studios. R.I.P Black Isle.

  • anyone else wet their pants while watching this?

  • Stupid kid: "Yay, this game is gonna be awesome, look at the graphics!"

Me: "Must be another pointless uninspired hyped-up commercial crap with nothing but good cinematics"

Me after playing it: "Wow! This is one of the best novels I've ever read!"

  • Is this song in the PS:T OST? Look up the song 'The Eliminating Angel' by Lustmord, and you'll hear some similarities, one time I was listening to it on youtube and thought I accidentally had the PS:T trailer open

  • this trailer and it's music haunted me when I was a kid, but i never got to play the game. that all changes now!

  • Two people got mazed.

  • This is the best setting ever. I absolutely love how it takes all the traditional and conventional RPG rules and elements and throws them out the window in favor of total bizarreness. You can literally make whatever you can think up and it fits. Where else are you gonna find a holy demon for example? Only in Planescape..

  • gotta find cd with this clip on it

  • my favorite game of all time.

gave me much needed escape during a troubled childhood and expanded my horizons more than any of the post secondary education i have received.

  • loved the trailer when i first installed fallout 1

  • hey digg

  • @edissheldon Lustmord. Mind you, it wasn't in the game.

  • I loved the game's soundtrack, but watching this trailer always makes me think about how the game would have been with the music that Brian "Lustmord" Williams created for it.

  • @supremacistdawn His music would have been good too, but I think his music gets a little too intense and heavy sometimes for the planescape atmosphere. I feel that Mark Morgan created a more ambient soundtrack that's haunting and ominous but somehow peaceful at the same time. Especially in places like the mortuary and scenes with deinoarra.

  • One of the most thought-provoking rpgs - Nay, -games- of all time.

  • Who's that huge green fellow? The one walking through the forest? Looks like an orc... never seen anything like it in the game

  • I think, it's the huge steel golem Coaxmetal, from the siege tower.

  • @ShamelessSteelRat

It looks like the Higher Planes were in early drafts of the game. Only thing I can think of to explain the foliage in that picture. I'm guessing that's either a god or a Titan walking.

  • This game has the best narrative I've ever seen....in anything....ever. Why can't we have storylines like this with the graphics of today?

  • I would agree, nobody else in the game is that huge, except Coaxmetal has no legs to walk with.

  • @Iconoclast12100 Mass Effect comes pretty close

  • @Petersunnergren For story? No not even close. For Roleplaying? It might as well be just on console. For attachment to characters, no contest. In short, Mass Effect is a penny to Planescape Torment's million dollars!

  • @Iconoclast12100 I honestly don't know. The story tellers are still all here. Chris Avellone is working at Obsidian, and they always get riled up for having buggy games. But the stories are always awesome.

  • @Iconoclast12100 we need voiceovers and EPIC STORY! with romance!

  • @slitor Sums up today's games pretty well, sadly.

I wish Obsidian would come up with some amazing RPG again, they're the only developer I still trust when it comes to RPG's but they haven't delivered a real good RPG since Mask of the Betrayer.

  • @uninterestingentity No trust for CDProject RED?

Also, I would argue that New Vegas and Alpha Protocol both live up somewhat to Mask of the Betrayer, but it is kind of hard to get as high as the best cRPG since Torment.

  • @Luisfius Eeeeh, I find the Witcher universe to be a little devoid of charm (and their approach to dark fantasy is a little, questionable)

As for Alpha Protocol and New Vegas, AP is certainly well-written, but the gameplay gets in the way. NV suffers from Gamebryo being shit and the base concept still being post-apocalyptic Oblivion.

Strangely though, I favor KotoR II over Planescape, get so annoyed when Bioware fanboys whine about the story not being 'epic' (ugh) enough and whatnot.

  • this game rocked !

thanks for the old trailer, i missed that one. :)

  • @Aroddo no problem :)
