  • Good documentary, but just one problem with this part is when the narrator said that the british had two of the most sophisticated aircraft the Spitfire and Hurricane, he was partly right, the Spitfire was sophisticated, but the hurricane was horrible, some RAF pilots said that flying that crate was horrible and would much have rathered flew the Spitfire.

  • Good video. anybody out there knows how this crank start system worked on the German planes? same as in a Model T? Thanks.

  • ppolish division 303 they destroy many germans But When war was ended Churchill betray Poland and sell them to zssr I'm Not from Poland but i very like history Sorry for my English

  • This video is garbage at 2:40. The Germans had already fought and easily despatched the Hurricane in the battle of France.

  • more moronic "history" from America

  • @TheARMAProductions they gave up because the french were over run by nazis and they did not have 20 miles

of english channel to stop them so stop disrespecting them they were on britains side against germany

  • that was my first thought when i saw the first part is to destory the radar towers if i was hitler or a german general

  • See unlike the French.....the British stood and fight!

  • @gopconservative78 my history teacher told me that if France did'nt surrender quickly then maybe the eiffel tower, the versailles and other french historical places then they may just ashes in our memories

  • @redbaron785 the french had to surrender because they were over run by nazi germany. they were a very

strong force and unstopable. they had taken the whole of europe and were poised to take great britain.

yes your history teacher is right. they would have distroyed all of paris had they had not surrendered.

  • @gopconservative78 The british the english channel to protect them, its easy fight when your an island of mainland europe where the war is actually being fought.

  • 3:13 Radar a powerful weapon.???? dumb statement...

in the early stages of the battle the 109 with it's fuel injected engine and cannon armament was superior, but was badly hampered by it's limited time over the target areas. The upper hand was soon regained when the RAF introducing a higher octane fuel and made carburettor modifications.

  • I hate Aryeh Nusbacher!

  • They simply gave each other time to recover to conquer other countries on the European continent - until 1942 when it was obvious they finally had to face each other...

  • My favourite plane during the WW2 was the spitfire. It was one beautiful fighter.

  • @MrQuackism the roar of the mighty merlin. one of the best in the universe.

  • IT,S A TRAP!!

  • Come on the germans and italians didnt really think they could defeat the british?? Yes they won a great victory taking europe and the fall of france. But that was because they invented blitz warfare the british had never seen this before but after there humiliation in europe they would never forget it! Britain adapted to this new type of warfare and they made the germans pay for thinking the british could be defeated!

  • @martynrobin121 The British blitzed Germany first, Moron. You bombed them - they bombed you back. But your lies do not surprise me, the whole world knows that the British lie about their own history. How pathetic! lol

But note the Germans bombed military sites, they did not drop PHOSPHOROUS AND NAPALM on hospital cities, overcrowded with 500 000 refugees, like your dirty fat English pig Churchill did.

Any nation with decency would have hanged this warcriminal Churchill.

  • @Elberiver11 it was Nazi Germany twho on September 1st 1939 without having declaring a war bombed a Polish town of Wielun, destroying 75% of buildings including churches and a hospital and killing up to 2170 innocent civilians. This was widely regarded as an act of terrorism and harshless brutality and breached the Hague Convention as there was no military targets there, the fact known to Nazis. The purpose of anihillation was to spread terror and break a morale of both the army and civilians.

  • @martynrobin121 PS: And yes, the British could easily be defeated. After you started war on the Germans , they brought you at the brink of collapse within few months. You were lucky that Churchill ran crying to the Americans , "please help us, sob sob, we are too weak to defend our island" hahahaha.

The fat Yankees and the Communist dictator rapists saved your arse, hahahah, lucky you.

  • @Elberiver11 The Americans arrived 2 years after the British had defeated the Axis and stopped the invasion of Britain! 1940 The R.A.F humiliated the Luftwaffe and stopped Hitlers invasion(Operation Sealion). Then in N.Africa 1942, Al Alamein British Forces defeated Rommel and the Axis and humiliated there counter attacks, The Americans hadnt even arrived!! Britain was safe 1940, And by 1942 winning in the Western Front. And U.K helped saved Russia(Our tanks in battles of moscow,Stalingrad)

  • @martynrobin121

No disrespect to the British. As a matter of fact I think that Churchill's refusal to accept Hitler's peace after France had fallen in 1940 saved Europe.

Here's the thing though. For the German Wehrmacht the prime enemy from the summer of 41 onwards was the USSR. It became absolutely imperative in defeating them for obvious reasons, the rest of Europe had fallen. The German Army in N.Africa was nowhere near the size of the German forces on the Eastern Front.

  • @martynrobin121

El Alamein was a German loss but nowhere near as humiliating and serious as Stalingrad was. Any historian will tell you that it was the turning point of the war. Very few British tanks were used in Stalingrad, and the American lend-lease trucks, food and other equipment didn't arrive in significant numbers until mid 1943

80% of the casaulties of the German army was on the Eastern Front. 4 times more German divisions there than in France on D-day. Gives you some insight...

  • @McLarenMercedes Al Alamein was an Axis defeat German/Italian, And it basically crushed the Axis Forces in N.Africa 1942, Rommel was humiliated and lost most his tanks, resources, troops,Fuel. It was the turning point in the Western Front, Yes not as serious as Stalingrad or Moscow. And Soviets lost most there Tanks in Barberossa, They then used British tanks in Moscow,Stalingrad because there wasnt many T-34s. The Soviets needed the lendlease to get back on there feet, After there humiliation.

  • @martynrobin121 your knowledge of II WW history is zero:

    1. Britain wasn't ready to launch any offensive action against Nazi Germany in 1939 nor in 1940.

    2. Britain relied heavily on US loans during II WW.

    3. Two most decisive battles during II World War were: Stalingrad and Kursk. Both on Eastern Front. Both against Soviet Union (their former ally). Not battle of Britain nor Al Alamein. Sorry!

    4. Britain wasn't "safe" in 1940. They were shitting their pants:)

    5. Not Russia but Soviet Union.

  • @simaodocaminhao The Lendlease loan started in 1941, After the British defeats in Northern France,Belgium,Norway 1940. However 1940 Britain was safe, Battle of Britain- Biggest Air-Battle in history the R.A.F humiliated the Luftwaffe 3-1, Stopping the invasion! U.S supplies and resources were vital. And Russia was humiliated 10x more than Britain! They were been invaded and on there knees after Operation Barberossa. 10X WORSE OFF THAN BRITAIN!!

  • @martynrobin121 remember that British forces were part of the Commonwealth consisting also of of significant numbers of Poles, Czechs, Canadians, Aussies, French etc. Battle of Britain was their joint effort as well as its result. And yes, Battle of Britain halted Nazi invasion, but war wasn't won yet.

Nazis having conquered most of Europe, turned to the East again invading USSR. USSR having being Nazi Germany ally from 1939 turned to be its victim and soon found itself struggling for survival.

  • @simaodocaminhao Yes Britain had Pilots and Soldiers coming from all over the Empire and Commonwealth etc, etc. Also resources, supplies whitch were vital from her Empire and America. The British kept fighting the Axis in Africa and the S.O.E in Europe also R.A.F kept bombing Axis cities and industy. The Soviets were humiliated 10x worse than Britain, However Britain and Russia were both back on there feet by 1942 and humiliated the Axis, by end of 1942 it was certain the Axis would lose.

  • @simaodocaminhao

Your wrong, I think you should research and not listen to your daddy.

1.Yes Britain did beat the Germans At the battle of Britain before lend lease because they were Better and they showed that before the USA and Russians Helped

2.The Germans only attacked Russia after loosing the Battle Of Britain, the Battle of Britain was a decisive battle.

Btw weren't the Irish collaborating with the Nazi's or the IRA?

  • If the germans had carried on attacking airfields and radar stations they should have won.

The RAF was practically on its knees but still fighting.

They made a disastrous blunder by switching targets to bombing civilians in London instead.

Hitler and Goering are already showing a true genius for totally ballsing it up.

  • @zenoist2

That is true. Later in the war plans to target Hitler himself were blocked when it was realised that had the leadership been replaced by more competant people, and the generals allowed to do their jobs, the war would have gone on for a lot longer.

  • @zenoist2 Well, the RAF could have pulled the fighters further North if the airfields continued to be attacked. This was the plan, had the attacks continued. That would mean that the bombers had to fly further inland to attack and would be more vulnerable. They werent exactly on their knees, they were still attacking with hundreds of fighters every day. If the losses had got critical they would have pulled the aircraft North.

  • lolz at what the guy says at 8:23

  • I think the threat of an amphibious invasion by the Germans was overrated. An amphibious invasion is a very complex undertaking (as the allies found out in 1944) and the German hadn't the equipment or the experise to carry it out. They may have gotten an army ashore, but they never could have supplied it.

  • lol the cheeky german Hitler was, dropping leaflets telling us to see reason, lol thanks for the Toilet paper mate, that just saved us from having to buy some,so we spent the money on kicking your arse lol

  • Luftwaffe didn't overwhelm the Polish Air Force with ease. Despite the fact that they had massive strength in numbers and that BF109 was far superior to the Polish PZL P.11, not to mention the even older P.7, they lost more aircraft than they destroyed.

Which, by the way, answers the question about the best air force in the world. After this defeat Polish fighters fought with Luftwaffe in the Battle of France, Battle of Britain and over occupied Europe.

  • @Pijawek you are absolutely right the exact number of German aircrafts shot over Poland is not exactly known and was probalby greater than estimated as many of them after having been shot and with smoking engine were flying back to airports located in Prussia (a part of what is today north-eastern Poland) and also because Germans for simple propaganda reasons never revailed true numbers of lost aircrafts and other weaponry.

  • The Germans were not aware that the Poles and Czechs were fighting alongside the Brits in the Battle of Britain........that was their biggest miscalculation !!!!

  • Actually the numbers of bombers and fighters lost by the Luftwaffe were pretty close. 844 bombers and 762 fighters

  • If there is a better Airforce in the World than the R.A.F name me them?

  • What do you use to define "best" , there haven't been any modern dogfights , neither have there been two modern armies fighting since 1945.. fail

  • @jamestoni the israeli airforce evidence the six day war^^

  • Is there a 'Lost Evedence - Dunkirk'?

  • During the battle of Britain, the luftwaffe have one problem. Their fighters have to small petroltanks and could not escort their bombers long enugh. So almost all planes the brittish shot down was bomber aircraft.

  • I agree with tdabamm12. If Germany Had landed on UK the English would have lost . But it is better it didn't happend. Nazi and Japanese were paganistic armies basically and did loose the war. Russia party was atheist but crambled after Perestoika.

  • @rommelervin Actually those who have studied the evidence have concluded that any German invasion would probably have failed.

  • There is no evidence in fantasy. And If I would have propose some:

    a) English after dunkirk had NOTHING in terms of tanks and antitanks

    b) after invasion radars would have been destroyed and studied. Airports would have been Luftwawaffe's

    c) Apparantley England would have lived in colonies & would have camed back like Athens of Pericles after Persian Invasion (sea power)

    d) After passing the Chanel history has proved England could be dominated. It wa far less underpowered than Russia was.

  • There is a strong but officially denied story that the German did actually land but were booted out on three occasions. One of these attempts was at a place called Shingle Street. The information is available on the net.

  • @19996669991 I don't see how. Even Churchill, is his planning of a guerilla campaign against the Germans in the event of invasion, only saw such resistance lasting a month or two. One video concerning this strategy is called, I believe, "Hitler's Britain".

  • should have been a ground operation germany made a real effed up mistake by bypassing the radars and some strategic parts the army should have landed and take strategic parts and the airforce could have hold the RAF back

  • aryeh douchebager

  • "serves em right" lol. Epic Win :)

  • Of the thousands of Ju 87 Stukas built, only two are known to survive, one in a British musuem and the other one is somewhere...

An interesting aircraft indeed despike its downfall against other single engine fighter...

I'm about to build me a 65" wingspan radio controlled Stuka!!!

  • 5:18 "...the full force of the Spitfire's cannons." God, don't these 'History Channel' blabbermouths research anything? It's fairly common knowledge that only 19 Squadron's Spits had cannons fitted -- experimentally, briefly, and unsuccessfully. 19 Squadron soon reverted to standard, machine gun-armed planes. The Spit Mk Vb introduced cannon armament in 1941.

  • @imcustomized the full force of spitfires cannon it sucks only the gerrys planes have 20 mm cannons unfair against the spits machine guns 6 machine guns 30 cal is nothin compares the m109 cannons

  • They only had a single pop gun in the rear! haha bloody heros. Heros forever. Defenders of europes free will! The last line in the sand. You showed them bloody reason!

  • Herman goering:"Call me Meyer!" Okay, no problem.

  • the jerrys has a dumbest air recoinicance ever

  • I love the way they mix modern music with old video clips and history, genius!

  • good thing too! thnk god for stupidity. it has its uses, lol

  • "Without Manpower and Machines... Both sides won't be able to do much for very long"

My god, must have been valedictorian in Special ed...

  • "serves 'em right". good lad!

  • The guy at 3:13 rly and i mean RLY annoys me

  • Yes he's commonly known on the internet as "frodo baggins" Hes so annoying!!!! And also a woman now. No I'm not kidding

  • Oooooook, that's how weird he is(not that people who do that are weird) sop he's the frodo baggins guy, i only watched this on the military channel, dont know much bout this stuff on the internet.

  • haha that's true...no wonder why he (she) doesn't appear any more on documentaries...

  • Agreed... He's kind of like a Mr obvious isn't he?

    "Germany underestimated British production"

    ORLY!?

  • @kingtiger88 Holly shit, you really ain't kidding. His...I mean HER name is Lynette now. And the World keeps turning.

  • @kingtiger88 he's a queen now

  • @kingtiger88 hwat you mean a woman now xD

  • @Halo3snipe12 Yh he is annoying. He also did a programme called time commanders where by people re-fought historical battles to get a different result. there are a few of them on you tube.Funny enough, the bloke that annoys us both is now a woman,he had a sex change, look him up because this may sound like a load of crap....but its actually true lol

  • @Halo3snipe12 yer hes just a dirty jew, wtf would he know anyway.

  • @Halo3snipe12 He's also a 'jew'!

  • @Halo3snipe12 It's like he's talking to a class of mentally challenged children. If he were to talk any slower, he'd be completely silent.

  • that frodo character is such a fucking retard

  • "You just strap a spitfire to your back......and fly"

    nice way to put it!

  • the famous line from the b.o.b film

"u can teach monkeys to do better than that"

  • I just finished watching the whole thing and it was pretty good.

I wish they had said some more things about the Hurricane but they didnt. I wont complain though.

  • Didnt most Spitfires at this time have 8 303 machines guns ?

I thought the the 20mm cannon was added during the early or middle part of 41.

Anyway, Awsome film and I love the pilots telling there storys.

  • yes thats correct

  • yes,cannon was later.

  • @32silvercoins Actually it was at the very end of the BOB that Spits got cannon, Spitfire MK 5's came in at the beginning of 1941 and the Germans did not stop aerial activity totally until about March that time. Due to the invasion of the USSR.

  • I agree that without the US we would not have won the war but i think what these brave pilots did was a huge triumph for a Britain that looked like it was at its end.

  • just a comment on our valiant allies,Air Vice-Marshal Keith Park.(new zealand).

Sir Christopher Joseph Quintin Brand KBE, DSO, MC, DFC,(south african)and heres a list of other brave allies;Polish,New Zealand,Canadian,Czechoslovakian,Australian,South African ,Irish,United States and one pilot from Palestine.

  • The Germans did understand the importance of radar, but after bombing several sites they stopped, they also stopped attacking the airfields and concentrated on bombing London and other cities.

  • Thank God that the Germans made stupid, costly mistakes!

  • I agree. If Hitler and Goering had let the 2nd Air Fleets commander Kesselring alone the Luftwaffe could still had a good chance in winning. But thankfully they lost and my parents remained safe.

  • @CrtnFan21 It's kind of mad to imagine that there might be a parallel universe, where there was no D-Day.

    Where there was no VE-Day..

Where instead, the beach landings were the other way around, with soldiers rushing up the beaches of the UK instead of France.

Thank god I live in this reality, not that one.

Try to fuck with Britain, and get munched.

  • @CrtnFan21

Yes, and if the French and British hadn't made mistakes, for instance giving Hitler Czechoslovakia in 1938 and thereby granting him the well developed Czech arms industry, or the French not rolling over Hitler's poorly armed 1936 army in the de-militarized Rheinland (Hitler had ordered his generals to retreat if the French attacked), then Hitler's third reich might very well have been short lived.

Post WW2 they learned to stop dictators before they get the chance to grow.

  • Good thing the LW didnt have drop tanks ....

  • Lol

  • thank god for the english channel and thank god for our glorious fighter boys. english poles aussies new zealanders south africans welsh scots 1 american have i missed any yes and all the men and women that supported them in those trying times. regards from aussie

  • And im not saying the RAF pilots werent brave...they were VERY brave. Facing such impossibly odds...waves and waves of enemy fighters. They definitely had the courage, im just pointing out that even with such bravery and heroism...one cannot overlook the fact that Germany had the upper hand here....they just made a catastrophic blunder that cost them the entire war.

  • Nobody questions the heroism of the other nationalities who fought for the RAF but the great majority were from Britain - The RAF roll of honour for the Battle of Britain recognises 574 non-British pilots out of almost 3,000 in total.

  • Flossy..."So many other nationalities were fighting the Germans all over Europe and Africa at the same time."

Where exactly in Europe or Africa were other nationalities fighting the Germans? Hitler had conquered the whole of w. Europe, Poland and Czechoslovakia. The war in the east would not start for another year and the USA was not in the war. Why is my question 'ignorant'?

  • cause they escaped the country

  • RAF No. 303 "Kościuszko" Polish Fighter Squadron.Remember about them, they were most skilled and had most shoots!!!

  • Polish pilots were absolutely bonkers! And they more than played their part in the BoB

They remain a credit to their nation and are still much admired in Britain

  • If the Luftwaffe had focusd only on military targets during the entire operation..theres no way they could have lost. The British only had a handful of planes and pilots compared to the endless waves of Stukas and Fw-190's that darkened the sky. They would have brought Britain to its knees in a lot less than 3 months. Also,by waiting 3 weeks to make a decision,Hitler sealed his fate by giving Britian time to prepare. If he had only agreed to let all of them take part, there would be no Britain today.

  • Of course they could have lost! They had to gain "TOTAL" air supremacy, achieving this was highly unlikely, the best they could have ever hoped for would have been pockets of dominance, not nearly enough. stuka's and fw-190's were useless and were withdrawn very early on. And i can assure you the RAF a lot more than a "handful" of planes, check the stats! Biggest concern for the RAF was finding pilots not aircraft.

  • Britain only had about 800 planes. Roughly 450 spitfires, 245 hurricanes, and the rest an odd assortment of other planes. They certainly didnt have the means of defeating the Luftwaffe in a head to head dogfight. There were simply too many German fighters, and the Bf-109 and fw-190's were more than a match for even the spitfire. They could outfly and outmaneuver it.

  • wrong, britain had much better state of the art planes, the only one that could stand up to the spitfire was the Me 109

  • What is such a small advantage over so many planes? The Brits were flat screwed...no question. Germany had the planes, Britain didnt. Even if they had managed to keep a slight advantage, they still would have been worn down eventually. Logical reasoning aside, look at the stats. over 2,000 Luftwaffe aircraft vs. at best...1,000 RAF aircraft, with the only exemplary fighter being the spitfire. The only thing that saved Britain was it's radar. Without that, it would have been taken within weeks.

  • thats dumb bud you know what made the spitfires great? its the engine above all and of course the young determined british pilots it enabled mustangs to roam and escort flying fortresses right into berlin

  • If i'm not mistaken the FW190 was introduced AFTER the Battle of britain(1940)

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Production ran from 1941 to the end of hostilities,

(the FW190 is one of the greatest fighters NO DOUBT-gets a lot of respect from Brits and Yanks alike)

If you play the game Battle of Britain II -the flight models are extremely realistic-you can shoot down Stukas with ease.

-Stukas would have been better used in a attack supporting German troops landing on British soil.

  • its against war rules for a country at peace to supply a country at war with their arms aka America ( america needed war so they deliberatly cut of supplies to japan such as oil and froze all connections just so they could make the japanese attack them at pearl harbor )

  • RAF did us proud. I love my country.

  • I also love your country! :D I'm swede though...

  • Goerring's decision to target the planes directly was the best decision he could make. Too bad for the Nazis, they had an idiot leader that forced the targets on civilians than those of millitary importance, primarily the convoys, the industrial targets, millitary factories, etc. Had they kept up this stradegy, Germany, despite the losses would have won.

  • Does it seem a common theme in all these movies that Germany always seems to lose in terms of spying and intelligence gathering?

  • the axis produced the most recon aircraft than any other nation in ww2

  • "I love it when the English say they "stood alone" in the Battle of Britain. It's such a crock of shit. So many other nationalities were fighting the Germans all over Europe and Africa at the same time."

Oh really? June 1940. Please name them.

  • The commonwealth. And what were the fat americans doing during this time. Selling arms and doing nothing.

  • Americans didn't start getting fat till the 90's.

  • archtop57 I wouldn't flaunt your ignorance if I were you it makes you sound stupid. The Battle of Britain was a specific battle, fought in the sky, which was won by the British and 'Britain standing alone' is a term used to indicate that Britain was no longer helping allies, such as France, (as France had surrendered) and therefore not having to lose men and crafts etc

  • Well, we did stand alone as a "country" in the European War. But that does not detract our credit and respect to all commonwealth forces. Its something that is readily admitted amongst Brits with a modicum of intelligence

  • The Battle of britain was fought not only by the British but by RAF members that were Canadians,Poles,Australians, new Zealanders,South Africans,Irish and even somr Free French. Germany truly stood alone. Just because some of the countries were former British colonies does not make the people British. An Australian is an Australian citizen. They need visa's to come and work in Britain, these visa's are difficult to get. If you call an Australian or Canadian British they will usually be offended.

  • korek!!!

  • The U.S. populace would not have supported involvement in another war so soon after WW-1 Any Govt head knows that a war can't be fought without the support of it's citizens (Iraq/Vietnam sound familiar?). FDR even took some moves that were considered by many members of congress (aid to the british)to be illegal (history repeats itself these days). Ambassador Kennedy told FDR to let the British hang. Don't say the U.S. was chicken..it's an insult to those who died at Omaha and other places.

  • amen!

  • The US stayed back to see which way the wind blew. Many in the US gave Britain no chance.

The allied pilots and people paid dearly to change that perception. London bombed 70 nights straight in 1940.

When lend lease was struck, much of it was petty requiring Britian to sell off investments she needed for income after the war. Britain needed a loan after the war to get back on her feet. It was finally repaid in 2004.

    See Stephen Ambrose..

    World At War WAW_01_2BBB

  • on Japan, I beg your pardon.

  • The British were not alone. They had the support of the commonwealth countries, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders as well as many from India and so on not to mention Poles and others. Germany on the other hand truly stood alone against so many other countries. The Italians were nothing but a burden to Germany in WW2 even before they switched sides. In the end the US and Russia took out Germany and ultimetly the US finished the whole nasty business by dropping two bombs in Japan.

  • The Indians are credited with amassing the largest volunteered fighting force during the entire War, over 2 million went to fight.

We say we stood alone, because in Europe which was the main theatre of War, as a "country" we were alone....Not as a people, the commonwealth gets all the credit it deserves when we come to respect our lost heroes

  • @BlueSkyAtMidnight you are spot on despite overlooking one significant detail; since before the outbreak of II WW and until 1942 Nazi Germany and Soviet Union were allies.

What was then a secret, Ribbentrop-Molotov pact was made to assure Nazi invasion of Poland would have remained undisturbed by SU, only until September 17th 1939 when SU troops poured into P. from the east to assure a smooth defeat - according to a plan.

  • I love it when the English say they "stood alone" in the Battle of Britain. It's such a crock of shit. So many other nationalities were fighting the Germans all over Europe and Africa at the same time. Not to mention the US money that supported the war effort. Yes the US was pumping money into the war even before it officially joined in. Stop attempting to take all the glory you pesky limeys

  • They did FIGHT, (fight meaning as actually shooting things at each other), alone in the Battle of Britain, no one was in the air raids with them, they aren't saying they stood alone for the whole war... However the Germans had Italy with them in their Air raids.

  • Well, the British were alone in that they actually anted up with a direct contribution. Also, their armed forces were a serious concern for the Germans because the Royal Navy and RAF were the equal or superior of anything the Germans had. No one else was hitting back at that time. The Russians paid a HELL of a price later for that miscalculation.

  • Actually if you know history well it was not till 1940 untill Roosevelt actual coughed up with loans before that Britain paid for their munitions and gave up military bases in the carribean.

The Battle of britain was the RAF versus the lufftwaffe retard!

Plus the rest of the world that was at war was part of Britain or British colonies and they did it voluntaraly so you can shut up with your retarded comments, I'm sure your country couldn't last as long as we did if you were in that situation

  • This battle could be won on the German side also... The real problem was that Göring was rather loyal to Hitler than a good leader to the Luftwaffe...

  • This battle could be won on the German side also... The real problem was that Göring was rather loyal to Hitler than a good leader to the Luftwaffe...

  • I dont think he feared us, he just didnt want to waste time and resources invading us while what he really do was tear the communists apart in the east.

  • I dont think he feared us, he just didnt want to waste time and resources invading us while what he really do was tear the communists apart in the east.

  • For an indepth look on the BB try Jose Fernandez

  • good thing for that double agent

  • I am one of the few still alive today who saw the Luftwaffe in action over London, my family and I were bombed out twice during the air raids on London. I agree with Nintendoman. Hitler saw the English as co-equals in the Aryan race and wanted peace with England. Certainly 3 of my family would have survived if that had occured!!!!!

  • He did indeed, As us british are mainly of germanic decent along with scandinavian

  • OMG SupersonicStu06, you sound as if you are proud of being of germanic descent! Surely you know that the name of British Royal Family had once been "SAXE-COBURG" and "GOTHA". George V had it changed to the House of Windsor after WWI, and Queen EII declared that all her descendants would be recognized from the House of Windsor, and not from the House of Schleswig-Holstein Sonderberg Glucksberg....The Queen herself wanted to distance herself from her Germanic roots. Why dont you?

  • I am sorry for your loss. But with all due respect, Francis1930, I most seriously doubt that the British would have been better off had England collaborated with Hitler!!Hitlers MO was not one of power sharing but of destruction and conquest. Hitlers pact with Stalin is perfect example....

  • Francis1930

England? Why do people like you always refer to England when you should actually refer to Britain? Aren't the Welsh, Scots and Northern Irish part of the political union we live in, called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?

  • damn, they make taking down the "stuka" seem so easy, then what was the point of having a tail gunner if they don't do S***?

  • it was so easy because the top speed of a stuka was only 180mph

  • yes both tried and guess who won defending it! Both times the British Empire put the forces together to win

  • No European power should be criticizing of British colonial past considering they all did their fair shair of colonial asset building. Ever seen a map of colonial Africa? You may be shocked to see how little of it the UK controlled compared to Germany,Belgium & France

  • Belgium only controlled a small area called Congo:), the British controlled much more of Africa,

but if you look to Africa indeed France controls the most, but if you look to a map of the world, the British controlled the most

  • True, but she has tried to conquer the entire world, and enslave countless millions of unlucky colonial subjects.

  • We British were considered aryan by Hitler and he originally didn't hate us. Goebbels and Hess wanted to make peace with us. Hess even came over here, but unfortunately we just imprisoned him as he hadn't organised it properly, reflective of the whole nazi regime. Btw, we are not warmongerers, we tried to appease germany first but the nazis were far too warmongering.

  • the only reasons why Hitler wanted peace with Britain, was because he feared the Red threat. don't forget that in the early days (and I mean before they realised the crimes the nazis commited), Germany and Italy were saw as the block against the advancing communism

  • so are you, you ignorant fuck.

  • This idea that the Spitfire was like an F-14 is a myth. It had advantages over the Bf-109 but disadvantages also. When it came down to it, and petrol permitting, the pilot's skill, daring and training were the key. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan of the Spitfire.

  • I wish I could receive the History Channel on my TV at home in the Netherlands. There are a lot of excellent documentaries on this (my favourite) channel.

  • This is a great thing, fool. Obtaining an education would enable you to realise that our fantastic efforts in the face of major warmongering nations helped to save the world.

Your failure saved this planet from pure un mitigated evil. Thank you for your incompetance.

  • History channel = awesome!
