Koreans made a lot of these kinds of videos and uploaded them to Youtube for their propaganda. However, they don't have any true courage to dispute the territorial problem against Japan in official court. They are afraid to lose it.
And the Americans could've EASILY said things about Hetalia for making America a self-centered stupid gluttinous slob (no offense Alfred XD). We decided to LICENCSE IT and DUB IT IN ENGLISH. yet the anime takes the war so lightly I mean it only covers basic facts of the war (I'm a history nerd) it ignores the Nazis, the hollocaust, the losses the Russians faced on the eastern european front (which is the reason the russians later held a grudge against the US btw) the brutality the japanese army showed against the Koreans and the Chinese, the atomic bomb. You have to realize this anime is based on real events and to poke fun of it is why koreans are so upset (I'm an American btw)

Try looking up the history of what happened to Korea during WWII. to be honest, even though I find the anime funny I could see how it could be very offensive. I mean WII was the biggest war of the 20th century and thousands upon thousands of innocent people died. because the US was so far away from the action we weren't affected as much as other countries.

yet the anime takes the war so lightly I mean it only covers basic facts of the war (I'm a history nerd) it ignores the Nazis, the hollocaust, the losses the Russians faced on the eastern european front (which is the reason the russians later held a grudge against the US btw) the brutality the japanese army showed against the Koreans and the Chinese, the atomic bomb. You have to realize this anime is based on real events and to poke fun of it is why koreans are so upset (I'm an American btw)

I can understand why an American wouldn't find it offensive but a korean would. America had fewer loses compared to other countries. Try looking up the history of what happened to Korea during WWII. to be honest, even though I find the anime funny I could see how it could be very offensive. I mean WII was the biggest war of the 20th century and thousands upon thousands of innocent people died. because the US was so far away from the action we weren't affected as much as other countries.

I guess this just shows the result of national pride and all that jazz, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it can lead to issues. They can't take a joke. As it's been pointed out, the whole point of Hetalia is the steorotypes.
Psch! I can't wait to see how Hetalia portrays the Philippines (which has been a pretty helpless country under the influence and control of several other countries before) and other historically scarred nations. Should get interesting. XP

Somwething tells me that the Korean Hetalia haters are drama queens. It's only a joke! Not a way to make fun of people! For example, the sterotypes for America is that they eat hamburgers all day. I'm American and I rather eat something else then hamburgers!
