  • thank you somuch:-)

  • @emziibbz101 ok i work with horse all day every day, i been riding since i was 5 im 16 now, and im not replying to put you down or anything but heres a few good tips for you, 1.look at your legs in the saddle, are they level? next, make sure your legs are close to the horse (not lying far back), keep your heel DOWN, many riders lose balance when nudging on (kicking) master this and you will find riding more enjoyable, and to canter i recomend building it up with a trot, keep asking for canter.

  • i am new to the youtube channel but i wouldn't call myself a pro and where i live i have 16 horses and my family says that i am really good at training and working with horses

  • I'm a pro horse rider so i sugest if you wanna canter a horse do this 1. Click your tongue as if your calling a dog, doing so will canter your horse 2.Use your right foot to gently kick the horses side, doing so will make your horse go into a canter as well 3.Whip the reigns to make your horse canter,I reccomend whipping the reigns to let the horse know your in charge, failure to do so will cause the horse to buck you off.I hope this came in handy for you people who wanna ride a horse thumbs up 2ya

  • @emziibbz101 I'm nowhere near a horse expert, nor even a good rider, but here are just a few things I would suggest

    1. I've noticed that pressing helps me a lot

    2. If your horse doesn't respond to squeezing, try clucking and kicking :)

    3. pretty much the same as 2- clucking, kicking, squeezing, whatever works best.

  • Stop the ads.

  • btw lady not trying to be mean but u neeed to get new boots u look like ur wearing leather lose socks

  • @ThatSoJamie No. The western jog is slower than a trot. And the lope is more collected.

  • the rider looks like a clown with her feet in that position, She should point her tows more inward

  • @suzannelove1 How about you learn how to spell "toes" before trying to correct someone's riding.

  • @StyleMisser toes * :P btw i'm not trying to correct her, I just say what I see ;)

  • this is wat my teacher told me to keep my heels down: feel like your heels are dragging on the floor. :)!!! hope i helped!! :)

  • All i do to get my horse moving is to make the kiss noise. My other horse you have to kick him at the walk really hard. Idk why watched that i know how to canter

  • I love to canter!

  • GET THIS CHICK OFF OF THAT POOR HORSE. Quit reefing on the reins! Poor horse is going to get bit sores!

  • Maybe i canter wrong but when i canter i squeeze with my inside leg.. Is that wrong???

  • @rockinvolleyball15 try it w your outside leg instead.

  • @rockinvolleyball15 It all depends on what works for you, squeezing with your inside leg may be a good thing because the horse will bend round your leg and it will be balanced, it will also push you horse out to the edge of the arena and it will learn to use the corners : )

  • @rockinvolleyball15 it all depends on the horse. it gets very confusing with me me too. i say just find what works best for the horse and you and thats what will be most comfortable

  • The camera man should shot on the rider, not the coach. I would like to watch how she canter instead of watching her speaking.

  • -.- I'm so bad at cantering, I know the steps, but I do them so badly haha. I get so caught up in staying on I forget to shorten my reins and steer.

  • @Babydolljumper98 Yep, you got it! That's more than most people know! You'd be surprised to hear how many people have NO idea of what the leg arrangement is at the canter. Across the board, they all claim the inside fore is #1. And are shocked to find out that it is the ouside hind! :)

  • How do you bring a horse out of canter, back to trot? I can't find it anywhere! ):

  • all horses have different gates so some might be fast slow or in between

  • @Alumit14 oh sorry, i didn't see your comment. didn't mean to try and copy you, just what i think should happen. two great minds think alike :D

  • WOAH SHE SUX AT CANTERING

  • why don't you show the transition istead of talking and her just cantering around the whole time. i would like to see her go from a trot to canter, not just cantering....

  • @bluedappleroan22 You took my words and made them better.

  • how can I get this horse at my riding school to stop racing when she Canters?

She sticks her head right out and canters around as if she is racing all the other horses. How do I get her to put her head down so She relaxes into a slower Canter? (is it called collected canter?) Thanks :)

  • @sealwish

Why can't you ask a trainer or someone at ur barn? This person hasn't answered any of the comments. Not trying to be rude just a suggestion :)

  • what

  • I have a hard time getting my half Holsteiner cantering faster. Do you know how I can accomplish this? Thank you.

  • @starscreaml0ver it really helps to relax you hips, keep your heels down and if you sit up straight with your shoulders back! :)

  • u sound like a robot

  • starscreaml0ver, I thought I might give you some tips. Balance is important for you and the horse. Your horse wont happily canter with you on the saddle moving like a worm so I hope this helps with your balance: Get your balanced canter in the saddle before bareback to gain confidence. Keep you heels down and legs straight, but dont have you legs touching the saddle from your knee down unless asking to go faster. Keep you posture good and try and move your hips to the canter. Happy riding :)

  • thank you to the people who made this video- and also the commenters! right now i am learning the post and trot but i soon will be able to move on to the canter, you guys have given me a great deal of knowledge so i know what to expect when i ride, thanks again!

  • great boobs!

  • I don't like how fast the horse is moving...especially if the horse and rider are doing hunters.

  • LOVE RIDING BAREBACK <3

  • Def no expert but the way I learned and the way my horse was taught... start from the walk and if you want left lead you apply pressure to the right side and also slightly give the reigns a indication to the right as you ask for canter then release. Hands down low; nothing worse than asking a horse to canter but giving him an indication to stop with high hands or yet horse coming to an immediate stop.

  • you r bouncing around 2 much! ;) ur supposed to sit to the canter!

  • @horselover8552 its called half- seat (:

  • wow shes 2 pointing how to you CANTER??

  • I KNOW HOW TO CANTER,TROT,WALK,HALT YES I GO HORSE RIDING AT PENSHAW RIDING SCHOOL.

  • @superlybarker good for you?

  • pu ur heels down and uill keep ur leg i rthe right postion and do a scoop motion and move back and forward nand scoop in the saddle move ur butt backwards and then forward!

  • @fraud1980 duno! sicko

  • good instuctions but she was rising a lil 2 high out the sadle.i mean i probz do it sometimes but if ur learning somebody then its best 2 say like then try and sit in ur saddle deep.who agrees's???

  • @DestinyPony i agree tht u should sit deep in to ur saddle u usalloy see a person stading in canter like in the oliympics when approaching the wall :) if u disgree please tell me ur opinion

  • OK kids, figure this out. The canter is a 3-beated gait, right? So what leg is beat #1, beat #2, and beat #3? Figure that out, and you'll know which of your legs has the most influence and should be used where & most strongly. There are many equine venues in this world, and just as many different canter signals. They all work for various reasons, depending on the horse's balance, job, and way of going. Learn the differences, and you'll be on the road to understanding, not just opinion! :)

  • @shammiedog Leg #2 is also hitting the ground with another leg. So people might get confused by that.

  • @StyleMisser Yep!! Perhaps sort of a trick question, asking which leg hits 1, 2, or 3. ;)

  • thanks alot soo much i got over my fear

  • how come when i am cantering i lean to far BACK not forward so then that means i am pulling on the rains and so my horses stops, what am i doing wrong, apparently my leg position is correct its just i lean back.

  • @JACKtheJRT try to sit up like something is attached to ur head and pulling u up. or just keep reminding yourself and try to lean your torso forward it'll come to you ;]

  • @Horses4ever8 thank you very much =]

  • Out-side leg !?? totally wrong - the in-side-leg is the forward leg and asks (aids) the horse to canter of ! Out-side-leg is the "keeping leg and has nothing to do but be in place (verwahrend)! No wonder, the most of those critters who are WRONGLY schooled that way are crooked !!! The way this is explained here will not get the horse to pick up from behind............Ouch !!!

  • @Lippizahner Horses move away from pressure which is why this has become the "Correct" que...

  • Didn't help at all....

  • a great way to canter is in half-seat. meaning 60% of your weight is in your heals, and legs, while the other 40% is following the horses rythum and not exactly sitting down.

  • @equestriansheridan exactly

  • i need some advise cause my horse has a choppy canter and he can do a nice canter or a choppy so what do i do? and when his canter is choppy i can never sit it any advise??

  • @horselover1804 Picture your upper body in the shape of a capitol i. always helps me. Hips tucked in shoulders back chest out. Mostly what HynesAndHorses said.

  • @horselover1804 i've ridden plenty of horses with a bouncy canter, what you do is instead of bouncing up and down, glide in the canter, like when you're in the air during the canter move your butt back towards the back of the saddle, then when you're in the saddle, move foward, and at the same time that you're gliding, work your hips or move them side to side. hope this helps!!!

  • omg some one help i lean forward way to much in canter

  • Try and shove your heels right right down. if you dont then your legs will end up in the wring position, if your toes are pointing to the floor you will end up leaning forward. also try and bring your shoulders back, stick them right back if you have to, shove your chest out and sit up as straight as you can like somones pulling a string on year head or something silly! I hope this helps a little bit :)

  • @HynesAndHorses No offense but I dont think you should shove your heels down... its more like putting weight in your heels and then your ankle will become more elastic (if that makes sense)... Other than good advice... one more thing you shouldnt throw your cheast out, you should let your back be loose and flat and that should bring your upper body into the correct position...

  • @HynesAndHorses Haa Thanks heaps!!!!! Very helpful ;) xx

  • yew fist comment thx it really help me =))))
