  • Don't they yell for CREATIONISM in Tenn? LOL

  • I live in Clarksville, TN. He's right. These people don't give a shit to know anything.

  • I agree with the trucker. Readers are assholes.

  • love it ... your awesome live... saw you with jeff dunham in tyler texas

    '

  • lol

  • 5 people bought dirt

  • Respond to this video...But Hicks grew up in Texas. These men shared plenty of views, but it must have been a lot harder for Hicks to espouse them in Texas than it was for Carlin to espouse them in NYC or California, despite the generational difference between the two. Plus, Hicks came up at a time when it seemed Carlin was largely ignoring political humor in favor of topical humor (I'm talking the early 80s). With the Vietnam War over, it seemed like Carlin somewhat mellowed (until 1988).

  • @Beck19781 Delete "topical"; I meant to say "observational"

  • @DamnDogNow I think Carlin is funnier and more important, although that is ultimately subjective. I will say this: Hicks' transformation of thought was arguably more admirable than Carlin's. I'm not speaking of the thoughts themselves, but the fact of the transformation. Carlin came from an urban, multi-cultural environment (NYC) that would have nurtured his tenancies. His major obstacles were a conservative generation and religion. Once he broke free of those, he became himself.

  • WHAT YOU READIN FOR?? Guess its so I don't end up bein a fuckin waffle waitress.

  • @patorr69

What's you repeatin' it for? did you need to hear it again? or read it again? dumb shit

  • Comment removed

  • @eqsmooth Of everyone who is quoting his stuff why pick mine out to call me a dumbshit? I like to recite his jokes. lol

  • @patorr69 Because I'm a Mormon

  • @eqsmooth

    How many wives?

  • @Camel76 8

  • @Camel76

    Eight wives!? :O

  • @eqsmooth ahaha! MMMormon heehehe

  • @Alphabex8 I only read my Joseph Smith stuff drin 32 oz. coffees & smoke (kind of a Jack Mormon) in public at Waffle House. To get away from my 8 nagging wives & 16 kids.

  • @eqsmooth cool. lets compare secret names and swap wives when we get our own planets. hahahaha!

  • @Alphabex8 Only one Planet Star. Kolob. Kolob forever!

  • @eqsmooth yikes. awkwaaard

  • @Alphabex8 What's he readin' for? So he won't grow up to be a Mormon waitress. I know some Mormon waitresses. Somebody put somethin' in their PIE.

  • @DamnDogNow and Carlin doesn't?

  • I know haha. Still west virginia is worse

  • You have no idea how much funnier this is when you actually live in Tennessee.

  • Carlin, Hicks, Louis C.K.

2/3 down, one more to go, oh god. :(

  • Simply the hippest motherfucker ever

  • I think those quick glimpses of black and white bill hicks videos are REALLY creepy lol

  • Bill Hicks, THE definitive MASTER of comedy.

  • Love this gig.

  • LOL LOFUCKINGL

  • Anyone else think that before Bill Hicks died he gave the title of best comic ever to Louis CK?

  • @magicmanyea No, Louis isn't even in the top 20 of best comedians ever.

  • "Maybe you were conceived from a weak sperm or something" OH HOW AWESOME that line is! D:

  • fuckin tom cruise?! 4:38

  • This kind of makes me sad. I'm from TN and I work in Waffle House. I don't really see a problem with that. I know you're not supposed to take offense in the field of comedy, but damn! I don't understand why servers at Waffle House receive such a bad reputation.

  • hahah WHATCHU REEEDIN FOW?

  • lewis black is no where near carlin and hicks. not even close

  • @xrlk72 You are just saying that because Lewis hasn't died... yet. As soon as he croaks you will be all "Good ol' Lewis... he was the best there was!" People like you make me sick!

  • @ultramegachikken take it easy cheese tits

  • @ultramegachikken Nah probably because Lewis Black just doesn't have what they did.....he's not "Charismatic deep or edgy" enough :/

  • @ultramegachikken Orrrr maybe Lewis Black just isn't as good as Hicks or Carlin was? Ever think of that? Lewis Black is funny, but he's not at Carlin/Hicks level.

  • lewis black sucks

  • Bill where are you? We NEED you!

God, if you exist - you suck ass. You gave Hicks cancer but Dennis Leary is still alive.

  • I knew a guy in Texas who described a girl as "one of those people who reads in public."

    Swear ta God.

  • face @ 6:41

  • I love this guy, Wish he was still around!

  • "place was called Landland." :D

  • @0nixVerumi err he said: Land LEND ;) even funnier

  • 1:04

    :p

  • "i saw a sign once in Tennessee that said Dirt for sale......what a great country we live in huh? DIRT for sale!" ahahaha RIP Bill Hicks.

  • No kidding, he would have to change nary a word and his comedy would still be relevant...sad state of affairs that we have progressed so little...

  • Genius

  • you're all wrong! Lenny Bruce goes at the top of that list. he inspired all those comedians. in fact Geroge Carlin was arrested with Bruce spent a night in jail with him and it changed his life

  • @vincentpricesnephew Carlin in jail in Bruce? What happened?

  • @batrama310 watch the episode of Penn and Teller's Bullshit about Free Speech

  • Most underrated comedian of all time

  • comparing Bill Hicks to anyone else is pointless. HE STANDS ALONE. this is fact.

  • we want our thumbs!! LOL

  • I will take up smoking! :O

  • Damn, he is good

  • this is great. Bill Hicks is the man. RIP

  • If Hicks were alive today his brain would explode. American Gladiators and Marky Mark are nothing compared to Jersey Shore and Sarah Palin.

  • One of the best standup-comedians ever, an example to many!

  • WE WANT OUR THUMBS!!

  • what a guy, gotta love bill, fuckin hilarious

  • Somehow I don't think he's very popular in Tenesee.

  • I love hicks

  • Oh man, Bill Hicks is great. Miss his comedy.

  • God damn it, I'm a fuckin' waffle waitress - get me 10cc's of Catcher in the Rye, stat!(This IS a positive joke, BTW...)

  • Comment removed

  • quit while you can, if you get addticted, its the hardest thing in the world to stop

  • well..... LOOKS LIKE WE GOT OURSELVES A READAH!!!

  • @creeball what the hell is going on here???

  • @TheoBrixtonTheKid: lol. what u mean?

  • "do you go up to crippled people and start dancing you fucks?!" ...great line.

  • "hey Mr.Wheelchair whats your problem, race ya!'

  • Genius haha!

  • Not bein rude, but it's "Tennessee". Two e's, not one.

  • "i'm willing to die 7 years before my time" that line hurts everytime i hear it.

  • @NoPlanB616

    :'(

  • he knew the secret, and was taken from us before he could reveal it .... Wonderful comedian, great entertainer, speaker of the truth ... gone and sadly missed!

  • He revealed all of his "secrets", and what he considered truth in his lifetime.

I am very sad that he is gone. And, that the world cannot hear his comedy anymore. But, it is up to you and me to continue spreading his message, in his ( and our ) honor.

  • Notice how Mr Tennessee doesnt even know how to spell "THE".

  • Guess what he's already dead. Asshole.

  • He is a Legend

  • 4:42 somebody has their balls chopped off LOL

  • im so weird but i think he was so hot. <3 Rest in peace man

  • Bill, we need you now more than ever.

  • ROFL!!! the last part about non-smokers!

  • how do you know its made up

  • Most comics do that. In a way, that's how it works.

  • You're blaming an artist for making stuff up?

  • how do you know theyre made up?

  • the waffle house one actually happened.

It's actually quite the opposite, most comedians base their material on real life events. Sometimes when they refer to another person in a story it's actually them. Louis CK's "everything is amazing, no one is happy" bit was based on his reaction to not getting what he wanted instantaneously.

    It's merely exaggerated for effect,

  • Funniest Hicks clip I've seen-countless times. Still had me in stitches laughing. I wish he was still around to give his opinion on what happens these days. RIP Bill Hicks-A true legend

  • HAHAHAHA best show by him comedy wise in my opinion.

  • You are kidding, right?

  • @18thseason You're kidding, right?

  • Haha, love this guy.

Bill Hicks, Lewis Blcak and George Carlin.

    The Big Three.

  • I really like Lewis but I wouldn't give him the status of Hicks and Carlin, at least not yet. Also you definitely have to throw Richard Pryor and Lenny Bruce into that list.

  • and steve martin. not as controversial but still brilliant in his own right.

  • @18thseason I think I'd put David Cross on that list before Lewis Black but that's just a personal opinion :)

  • @graaar the thing about david cross is that he sucks and lewis black rocks

  • @irishboy1012 Wow! You've convinced me! Due to your overwhelming amount of thoughtful evidence my opinion has totally changed.

  • @graaar love the sarcasm lol

  • @18thseason Lewis Black stole a lot of material from Hicks. The majority of real comedians view Lewis has a hack!

  • @18thseason with you on that Lewis is great but not quite a Bill Hicks or Carlin. Pryor, Bruce certainly rank up there and among contemporary comedians, Doug Stanhope has the balls and truth to make it to the list.

  • @18thseason Don't forget Bill maher

  • @18thseason

    carlin

    pryor

    chappelle

    Louis C.K

    Billy Hicks

    eddie murphy

    (no specific order)

  • @kuroganeblack - I like all three, but you have to put Pryor on any Mt. Rushmore of Comedy. Kinison was amazing too.

  • @kuroganeblack Fuck Lewis Black hes nothing to Bill Hicks, or George Carlin. By the way Bill Hicks fans don't say gay shit like "haha love this guy"

  • @cashJOHNNYcash17

    So true my friend......

  • @kuroganeblack

You MUST include Doug Stanhope into that mix. He is THE best "did he just say that?" comic of today!

  • @kuroganeblack The big three what? Comics you think had the same ideology as you? You're even wrong about that, Lewis Black and Carlin have very little in common even ideologically, let alone in talent.

  • Ya need it for a planet! classic...

  • Another dead hero....

Would have loved to hear what he had to say about the Bush administration.

  • He would have flipped out.

  • FIVE STARS. He woulda ripped 9/11 wide open...

  • bill hicks is so adorable i wanna pet him

  • its such a shame he died, cos theres only a certain amount of material he wrote.

  • Oh how I would have LOVED his material for the last 8 years. He hated Bush Sr. pretty bad so I can only imagine his stuff on dubbya, 9/11, reality TV, the state of rock music and movies, the patriot act...

  • I think if he had lived to experience all that shit dude, he probably would've taken his own life. I thought about it! Hahaha what a fucked up world we all live on.

  • "Land Land" *chuckles

  • bill hicks is the master

  • Bill Hicks, George Carlin and Dave Chappelle. Three guys who always cheer me up on YouTube! :D

  • "'I'd like you to meet my wife & sister' and there was one girl" best line ever

  • Hey can you do me a favor and not give away the fucking jokes in the comments?

    Thank you.

  • yeah sorry.

  • Hell, I'm from Tennessee, and I still think this is funny as hell! Go Bill! And I've had people come up to me and ask me why I read so much, and tell me why they don't or won't. RIP Bill, we still love ya!
