I don't like Obama, but LTC Lakin is wrong. Citizenship is transferd from the mother to the child. It doesn't matter if he was born in the USA or in China. He is a US citizen because of his mother.

Hi – FYI – President Obama was born in Hawaii which is one of our States, and NOT part of the African continent as believed by so many right wingers. President Obama earned his Juris Doctorate in US Constitutional Law, so it’s safe to say he understands it better than most.  Nothing he’s done could possibly be interpreted as un-Constitutional by anyone with even a rudimentary understanding of that document. Thanks.

"Birther" is an invented label that can be slapped onto "inconvenient" Constitution-minded Americans to discount or shut them up before they open their mouths. No doubt, many of these folks are simply opportunistic Republicans who only care about taking back the Presidency and care very little for improving our republic. Others like myself are concerned about why Soetero/Obama would go out of his way to block release of his birth certificate. Why would he do this. What gives?
