  • I have one great condition trans oceanic 1000 wanting to start bid

  • I have a 500H and a speaker from a royal 20, a royal 66 and royal 96, and the tube type transcoeanic-H500, and a royal 5000.

  • I have one of this can somebody told how much did this cost now...

  • Very Good...!

  • my fhather have one!

  • Back when these were hand wired and made in the USA. They were built to last and weigh about 15 pounds. Great stuff though. I found a D7000Y at the goodwill for $12 and snatched it up. No AC cord but it works great on batteries.

  • It looks great....I you have one keep it dont sell it...In these days good radios are very hard to find.

Here in Argentina we had two brands that made good radios Noblex Siete Mares ( Seven Seas) and Tonomac Platino...both factories closed in the 1990's. I am searching every where to find one.

  • Found one at an estate sale a couple of weeks ago, and bought it for $7.50. I think I got lucky as it had no batteries and the only way to test it was to plug it into the wall socket. The wall socket did not have power, so everyone assumed that it was a non working piece of junk. I tried on a different socket and found that it worked fine. Best AM reception of any radio or boom box I own. Came with the original radio frequency book and 12 volt adaptor. Love it!

  • That's great. Keep in mind these use a reverse polarity adapter. Meaning the center conductor is negative, and the out conductor is positive. Using a modern jack in reverse will damage the set.

  • I found one of these in a thrift shop in 1982, the front door was missing but at $3...it left with me. While walking home I turned it on and -it worked- someone had left some decent batteries in it. I took it to work with me (Broadway theater tech) that night. I did find that FM selectivity and sensitivity improved alot with alignment. These sets don't quite have the tonal quality of the older tube models but do have greater undistorted output and of course FM.

  • No, it's clearly a Royal 3000 version with the front emblem and vertical knobs.

  • I think that is a T/O 1000 in the commerical; that is Bill Conrad on the voiceover.

  • @craigpoff

    That is without doubt a 3000 (or,3000-1, 3000-D, etc), and not a 1000.

The "AM FM: escutcheon on the LL of the case front is not on a 1000 (which lacked FM).

The 1000's volume knobs are side-by-side, not up/down.

The 1000's speaker grille is far more coarse than the 3000 shown here.
