Defeating a Yale lock with plastic

This is one of the most commonly used techniques out there. It's the first method I try when I come up against a locked door.

Definitely real! I live in a shared house with Yale locks on the bedroom doors. I don't have a key for mine, so have to leave it on the latch.

I forgot to earlier, and got locked out. Managed to get in VERY quickly with a card.

in theory this is how it is actually done. I tried it after my neighbour locked herself out the house. i almost done it if i had pushed the door. But i never! In the end i called out a locksmith and he got a square piece of plastic a bit bigger than a credit card and slid it inbetween the lock, then once he had it in position he pushed the door and bingo.

Funny I don't remember you being there when I did the video? Maybe you were hiding around the corner? Only way you'd know it was DEFINATELY unlocked. It's not like I'm making a sensational claim here, it's just some play in the fitting. There are plenty of other videos on YouTube about this process.

since there is no sound, it could be a fake, probaby got someone behind the door to open it.

On closer viewing, this lock is poorly fitted. A door should shut to the doors stop, no wonder you could use a thin slice of card.

Actually shut the door first. A night latch lock doesn't need the key turning so I question this test to a skeptical standard.
